received their rosters in advance, I often wasn’t informed of my shifts until the night before, making it difficult to plan my life around work.

After working consistently for three weeks, I fell seriously ill for one day—and was met with complete silence from the recruiter. Despite multiple attempts to call, email, and contact the company directly, I received no response. Being ghosted under such circumstances felt incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful.

This experience left me feeling devalued and disposable. I would strongly caution others to consider this before engaging with this company.

contract before actually securing an interview with the employer should have been the first sign that they are in the business of shady recruiting.

I asked a simple question regarding my contract, which screamed 'you will get underpaid or not paid at all' for your time unless you adhere to their incoherent rules which I am sure they can't even explain to themselves - I wonder if that's why I never received a follow up in the first place.

To make it even worse, I received an email notification through Referoo with a 'final warning' about my references. Excuse me? A final warning, as if this is some kind of a pedagogical reprimand rather than a standard part of the application process. It's your job to be proactive about getting in contact with the provided referees. Oh, but I'm actually getting ahead of myself now - I should remember that the agent has very questionable communication skills in the first place. So they can't even do that.

Save your time, go somewhere else.

And no, I don't want to be contacted to discuss this 'further'.

After numerous calls, emails, and a voice message, they finally responded, saying the employer chose someone they already knew—who wasn’t even interviewed for the role. I was also randomly emailed by different people, rejecting me for job interviews with no details about what position. Additionally, I was referred to another recruiter who was unpleasant to deal with. The entire process felt misleading and unprofessional. Job seekers deserve honest communication, not empty reassurances and wasted time. I wouldn’t recommend this agency to anyone looking for a fair and transparent hiring process, especially if they want to work in an office."

Real time waster not sure what’s their purpose is. Twice have I gotten email from them rushing me to complete the forms etc and then they ghosted me. Called me once left a message to call back and when I tried to call back immediately no one answers the call ever. Don’t waste your time replying their email

Worst customer service – For an agency that are actively seeking customer service professionals, they themselves have zero customer service toward the job seeker. No return of emails or phone calls, messages. Appalling service and will avoid any job opportunity through this agency.

received a Position Description document, and was instructed to complete an application for the role. I spent quite some time on this application, following this I was subsequently invited to a Microsoft Teams interview with HOBAN. Following confirming a time for the interview I received 'paperwork', an email which contains a link to various onboarding documents they want you to complete, as a new employee (for them?). Also included was an Employment Contract from Hoban which confirmed the Position Description was false.

They did not mention anything about signing a contract with them that would make me an 'employee' of Hoban. This contract states you have control over my job? You have control over my pay from another employer, judging from reviews here, if I got paid at all? I imagine there's a good reason you decide to omit all that information in your job advertisements and position descriptions.

Stop wasting people's time.

Timewasters who are happy to request and take very personal information – I applied for a position with the NDIA on SEEK via the Hoban recruitment agency. They called me and advised that I would be provided an opportunity to interview with the NDIA and that Hoban would prep me for the interview. I would advise against sending them personal information. They even request very personal information like your medical history.

Favouritism – Hoban Laverton: Some casual ‘favourite’ staff receive so many shifts as to have a full-time job where others are lucky to fluke some shifts, or get none at all

Hoban Agency as useful as [Content Removed] on a bull – Hoban Recruitment Agency are as useful as [Content Removed] on a bull. I sent an online application to their Seven Hills branch 2 days ago seeking an employment opportunity for someone to join our local Logistics company. I am still waiting for Hoban to make contact. Can't hold my breath any longer and have moved on to a much more professional agency. Good Riddance.

It is the worst recruitment agency I ever had – Unprofessional, zero respect for anyone time and effort. They post fake job opportunities and job offers. The customer service is virtually non existent. It is a scam.

Would recommend avoiding – Unfortunately I worked at this company. The upper management is clueless. They promote people into positions with zero experience and wonder why there is such a high staff turnover. Overworked, under paid, this was the most stressful place to work at. Even though issues were raised there was no action from management at all. I would recommend avoiding working there, applying for work as a casual there or becoming a client of theirs.

Hoban Recruitment wasted my time – I was asked if I was interested in a role, said yes, was asked to rush through an up to date resume and screening form. Did so and sent identification and was told I had an interview the next day. I sat around all day waiting for a call from that Hoban staff member, no replies to emails, no answer to phone calls. Second time in six months but different staff member each time.

Unorganised – Attempted to work in data entry, I was waiting for my roster to come in for weeks after the contract started. Got my roster only a few weeks before the contract ended. While I had no roster they never responded to calls, messages or emails and they had the guts to say they didn’t have enough people and recruited more people. Don’t waste your time here, completely unorganised, ambitious and lazy.

Not helpfull – Never come across a company that never answers the calls, never gets back to you and does not help you will your payroll issues., no support. So unprofessional and very disappointed in the whole process
