Never again - had a few sheds now too. 20x11m shed - numerous parts missing and need another half a dozen returns to supply missing bits at 11th hour. design is trash and a pain in the A**E to build using far too many small teks instead of bolts that needed pre-drilling in the thicker sections. The flashings were S**T and didn't fully cover the door jambs and you still see the gal jambs so looks shabby. Some of the roofing screws were too short to go thrugh heavy duty fibreglass roof and tried telling me I was doing somethign wrong so they had a look on site and said 'never had that before'. Stuffed up design so I lost about 300mm clearance on height on one door - after modifying to miminise loss. Many many phone calls to get so many things sorted out. Used cheap trash screws for wall sheets that left a bur and tore up the rubber washer so had to pre drill all of those too. The door supplied had skin loose from reinforcing before it was used (was replaced) and the list goes on ie used single columns instead of back-back so you lose about 300mm width across the ends. Only use 0.42mm roof sheet when 0.48mm much better - and tehy are not the cheapest either. Door was supposed to be prehung but got a DIY frame and the precut hole for lock was set back too far so you see a bit of the cut out around the handle cover plate. Door harware showing surface rust/tea staining in only 12 months. Drawings poor too. Asked for epoxy set anchors and was given gal tru bolts... but were replaced - without enough epxoy though. Watch out for the slick talking sales - reality is way short. Making another one from Widespan Sheds at the moment and it is easy - they are knocking it out of the park - Widespan has a good price, great organised paper trail, informed all the way, way better design, easier to build, good construction manual and neater flashings - was told it was coming on xx/yy/2025, and would be called day before. Was called and delivered as per advice.

High quality sheds & great service – We’ve now purchased 2 sheds and a patio through Grant at the Toowoomba office. The first shed was about 7 years ago and it still looks new, their products are definitely high quality. Grant looked after the process end to end and everything was clearly communicated both times. The most incompetent shed company I have ever dealt with – I engaged Southern Cross Sheds Sunshine Coast to supply and erect a 10x12 metre flyover roof, what an absolute abortion I was left with. Some roof screws on the flashings were put through the pans of the sheets instead of the Ridge. allows leaf litter to build up under the flashings and water to come in. The required fall of the roof should have Been about 300mm over the 12 meters as per manufacturers specifications but these incompetent fools left me with 100mm so water through capillary attraction runs back under the sheets and enters our covered area and is also corroding the purling and in heavy rain the pans of the sheets fill up and water pours in. Please be aware of these shonks stay well away. I wouldn't engage these clowns to put up a chook house

Great customer service, fantastic shed, built on time – Very happy with the design and build of my shed. Toowoomba store assisted in the design and supply of my shed and I couldn't be happier with the outcome! This Company cannot fit windows or doors correctly – The shed was built pretty good but when it came to door locks and windows they had trouble I,m am still waiting for some panels that will hide the mistakes made it is not repaired just hidden from view as according to them it was a visual problem And I continually have to to adjust my PA door lock to be able to access my shed through that door I… Read more

feel it it is unexceptable for the amount of money I paid that is how this crew operates they will tell you everything you want to hear even to get repairs I continually rang them it was only because i was pestering them that any thing was done I would say if you do decide to use use this company do not pay the last payment hold back a few grand that will make them move I made the mistake of paying them in good faith so hold a couple of thousand back until everything is write if i had to deal with this company again I would not pay full amount till I had a verified inspection approved by a inspector and writing they would repair all mistakes before final payment was due

Don’t do it you will be very disappointed – Poor communication and a very poor finish. Incorrect cladding and numerous basic errors in build by a contractor clearly not qualified for the job. internal bolts mispositioned, acess door attached to cladding not frame, fascia not finished, guttering cut short and dipped in the middle, damaged manual roller door, rough finishing With key elements skipped such as strike plate on the door and a level hanging door which hit against the floor on closing. Broken household items as builder used whatever was around rather than get his ladder off his truck to reach higher. We are still waiting for the promised fix of the roller door damaged on builders last visit and have paid for rectification of guttering. Still have to live with incorrect cladding

Lots if problems like roof guttering too small – Leon was very obliging and the office staff always keen to invoice. I did get updated plans for some changes and I hope the quality of steel is as good as they say. But weather became a useful excuse that caused the project to drag on and on. from the middle of the wall on both sides of the shed. Very little was reaching the downpipes and hence the tanks.

The gutters were not big enough nor the fall sufficient to accommodate even a small rain shower on this area of roof, let alone a big storm.

The ground inside has flooded everytime its rained. Even the concreted section gets wet.

My long awaited, dilegently saved for and very expensive shed (for me anyway) is useless. It doesnt even catch a good amount of water.

In the end I could have gone with a more local builder and for the same cost, got a bigger better shed.

Very disappointing.

Excellent service – First shed 36m x 29m Sunshine Coast. Very happy with service so.. second shed 36m x 31m Gold Coast ..again excellent service .even when asked to do something out of the box .... a split mezzanine floor thru the roller door entrance. 3 times proves it – We have used Southern Cross sheds on 3 occasions, on each occasion I presented them with my design. The first was a shed / studio, next was a class 1 building which is our new home , and finally we had a new retail premises built. So happy with these guys , best price , fantastic service from design to finish . And terrific workmanship . Brilliant!

An asset to our home – We had a Southern Cross Shed built on our property early this year and it is the best thing we have done for a long time. It is very strongly built, attractive, and gives us plenty of room for our camping gear and my husband's machinery, mowers, etc. and my gardening tools. The staff were very friendly and the shed was delivered and built on time.

computer and I signed the contract mid-May this year. Materials were ordered and delivered to my address. Builder turned up to erect it but immediately advised that it would be higher than the council regulations. Back to the company for more input. Salesman said no problems and would redesign it. He made a site visit and remeasured etc. Builder turned up the second time and went to work. At no stage was I given updated plans or work agreement to countersign as per the contract stipulations. Builder completed it to the instructions of Southern Cross Sheds. The work was professional but the end product looked less than aesthetic due to the amendments to the shape over the house roof. Told the salesman what I thought and he said he would make another site visit. He ordered some flashing and had a second builder work on it. At the completion of this work, even the second builder said it looked strange. Asked the company to complete the work to my satisfaction. Not interested after they got their money. All through the process, they were very reticent or negligent in the communication, even after I visited their office on a few occasions. Now, more than 6 months after signing the contract, I still haven't any updated plans or contract amendments, and am still waiting on certification (that's if it is certified). Apparently it is still too high to meet the council's requirements. So, if you're considering dealing with this company, make sure nothing goes wrong as they will do their best to ignore you.

Better than the rest – Recently had a carport built for our caravan. Great service and workmanship in building We had a couple of quotes But these guys told us the truth about building approvals unlike the competitiors. Honestly we really highly recommend any body looking for a well built carport. The contractor these guys use was fantastic

Thank you! – Love my new shed, thank you to the whole team at Southern Cross Sheds. Had a couple of delays with Council and wet weather but I got exactly what I wanted and I would recommend them to anyone.

Perfect To Deal With – From the first phone call to the design assistance to the slab and then construction it couldn't have been better. We had spoken to other shed companies but found Southern Cross more attentive. We were recommended to other shed builders and didn't feel comfortable until we met with Paul from the Naranbga office. Would highly recommend again.

Poor show – We regret to say that our experience with this company has been awful. Specifically we found build quality , communications , and timelines to be very poor. We are told that subcontractors can make the difference and perhaps we were very unlucky. Even so we believe the company failed to deliver what we expected of them. Please be careful when choosing your shed builder.

Buyer Beware – We were so excited to build our second shed with this company, but soon realised it was not going to be as easy as the first. They are very happy to invoice you for an instalment payment, promise you delivery but DO NOT DELIVER!!! No one seems to know what's going on.. Just be very very careful before you sign. We have paid $50,000 so far and have a concrete slab. I will never recommend this company again.
