Absolutely terrible. Double charged for a subscription. App wants to constantly update despite only being 5 minutes since it last updated. Contacts dropped off the app and now it won't let me access the smart watch. Don't waste your money with such a pathetic product.
DO NOT GET THESE WATCHES! for the price they are pathetic! Won't track, APP is rubbish and now we're having issues just trying to make a call. The watch is 18mths old & not used everyday, only on the days I'm at work & need it. It ends up being more stressful so don't get it if you want to rely on it. Very unreliable & constantly having to reboot. Can't wait until I get him a phone for Christmas. Show details

This is a terrible product. I bought this for my son's birthday, and it stopped working day 1 he started using it. The touch sensitivity is awful, there isn't even something basic like a home button on the side of the watch, everything is done by swiping, which leads me to why I am taking this back and asking for a refund. The screen froze, so I… Read more
tried to do a hard reset, I couldn't as the screen had stopped working. Absolute awful design for something touted as a kid friendly product. Looking for an alternative, won't be going back to Spacetalk any time in the near future.
The worse product and customer service I've ever experienced! For 4 MONTHS now I've been back and forth with Spacetalk trying to fix my daughters Loop watch ever since their forced App upgrade in November 2025. We have had ongoing issues since then, main one being my daughter couldn't call or message anyone and we could not locate her. Our watch… Read more
was purchased in 2024 and was working fine before this upgrade. Now it is unusable and due to us no longer having the paper receipt Spacetalk refuse to refund or reimburse us in any way. The product is faulty due to Spacetalks failed app upgrade and manufacturing defects, rather than misuse on our part and they will not take any accountability. Do not and will not recommend this product to anyone!

I bought this watch for the geolocation function. Apart from checking in once or twice, it has never actually worked. I have raised this and been told that this is a known issue that the engineers are working on. I have had about a month of getting almost daily automated emails either thanking me for my patience and/or letting me know my ticket… Read more

Nothing has been fixed. The watch does not work. I think I may have heard from an actual human in 5 out of the ~30 emails. I asked for a phone call, but they dont have phone services. I have provided details of the problem a number of times despite these already being detailed in the email chain. I have also provided photos of the error, proof of purchase, and my contact details.
Not only is the watch expensive, you also have to pay for a SIM contract to use it. It was also very difficult to set up originally.

Terrible product and the worst customer service I've ever encountered. After a software upgrade last September, the watch I'd purchased less than six months earlier for my child stopped working. Spacetalk tout their watches as helping to keep kids safe but don't care at all when it stops working due to their own errors. I have been trying for… Read more

My son's watch was not reading the SIM card only after 8 times after using it. I opened the back of the watch and saw moisture inside the watch and the SIM card had brown marks on it. I contacted support and they said quote "Moisture can sometimes get inside due to environmental factors such as humidity, temperature changes causing condensation",… Read more
which I believe is not appropriate for a children's watch, especially for children who are active and enjoy going out for bike rides or run around during their recess and lunch. Even your child's sweat can get trapped inside the watch and cause it to stop working. The watch isn't worth the money it costs and the company refused to replace the watch that is clearly faulty as how many times should a watch be cleaned out due to moisture and how many time can we put up with the watch not reading the SIM card? It's not A watch you want to purchase if you need to rely on this to contact your child as there are so many faults and malfunction that happen.
Such a big letdown and frustration. Customer support is robotic and generally AI generated. Slow to reply- sending you jumping through hoops to keep you busy but doing nothing to help. Time wasting. through hard to follow information I got the watch from dead to turn on bit not function. Software update. Finally working a couple of weeks then dead again. Not able to be repaired Weeks and weeks of emails with AI not efficient staff. Finally after collating all the wasted hours of emIls I to one consolidated message advised to sent to Silverwater NSW. 10 days later not heard. Other than an email asking for tracking number. Luckily I have evidence of it being sent. Meanwhile over a book holidays my son who has a disability was not able to have the very use of this to work on steps of independence for those weeks. All along I have requested a phone call to navigate the maze. Not one. The greatest aggravating factor is the many hours lost. Thi K of dealing with a govt bureaucracy and you have the idea. Save your time. I put my old apple watch on him. I can't use the phone function but at least the Tracking is there. Plus I paid for a year of sim card connection which is being wasted. I should say I have only contacted Spacetalk direct. I did phone JB HI FI and left a message but did not hear back. That was my next effort but we live remotely. Such a big letdown.

We've had the spacetalk loop for at least 8 months now and thought it was a great alternative to getting a phone. The first watch died and was a brick within the first month. We had to fight to get them to replace it with a brand new watch and not a refurbished one. After having the watch for a while now it really under performs for what you'd… Read more
expect. The GPS is not real time, you can't ping and find the watch's location. It often freezes and needs to be restarted. The app rarely works properly and I repeatedly have troubles logging in as the code it sends to you to access rarely if ever arrives. I made sure to have the ongoing mobile service attached to the phone not auto renew. It's set to auto renew automatically. I'll be binning the watch at the end of the billing cycle. I'm just going to have to take a loss on this one. I wish I'd seen product reviews before buying!

weeks to respond and then they post a link to a standard guide on their website, when in reality the issue is their defective product (since the November 2025 app update). Don't waste your money, I would purchase another product in a second if they would do the decent thing and reimburse people (which they won't).
Follow-up · Just as a follow up, four months in from our original issue and we still don’t have a workable product (you can’t call or message from the watch). Spacetalk won’t reimburse us even though it doesn’t work. I’d suggest anyone considering this product to choose an alternative.

This has been THE WORST retail experience we have ever had. Customer service is absolutely shameful - actually, it's non-existent. We have been trying to get a refund for the last month but only have an AI assistant sending us inane and nonsensical responses. It has been awful - our daughter still doesn't have a Christmas present!!!!!
Don't buy this watch. Went through months and months of the app and watch not working, customer service ignored my plea for refund. Then for another two months they just replied with basic suggestions about pairing knowing full well that it was their own catastrophic update causing the problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!! This is genuinely the worst product I have ever purchased. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience has been beyond unacceptable. it to finally pair for the day, then have the screen go black and turn off constantly. After 3 factory resets and another 4 hours, it would no longer pair and in the end, we had no choice but to return it because the product was clearly faulty. The birthday present ended up being nothing but stress and disappointment.
To make matters worse, we are now stuck battling with customer service just to get a refund for the $164 plan that was never even used. The entire process has been exhausting and incredibly frustrating.
What makes this even more infuriating is how heavily this product is marketed. If the company invested even half as much effort into the quality of the product and their customer support as they do into their advertising, this would be a very different story.
Disgusted in this product and the lack of support from customer service.
There needs to a "no star" option for this.

I’ve got some feedback about the app: the Loop is very slow to update after any changes are made in the app eg 15 mins - 24hours. I do not like this product, my son is hardly using it and I plan on taking it back.
I regret purchasing a years worth of sim plan (as it was significantly better value) - now it seems that it will not be refundable if I return the watch and cancel the sim plan.
Very annoyed and disappointed, I cannot fathom the positive reviews I read online only in November 2025. I now see many many 1 star reviews over the past 4 weeks.
I wish I did not waste my money on this product especially for a christmas gift.
This should be negative stars........ Absolute rubbish, we have had one for a number of years now, and with the new app updated, we have had nothing but trouble, cant login, cant make account, over a month for my wife to even be able to track the watch, and dont get me started on the horrible customer service, there AI tool is uselss (to say the least) would not recomoned at all....

coverage and strong mobile signal. About 1 in 15 calls randomly works and then all calls fail again. This is absolutely not suitable for peace of mind. Calls to the watch (as opposed from the watch) worked better but that's not helpful when child might need help. 2. Touch screen intermittently stops responding, cant answer calls, cant make calls, can't even restart watch via menus. Only solution is to press and hold button the back to do hard reset. 3. Location failed to update for over 2 days. Tried to set updates to anywhere between default 15 minutes, 5 minutes and other values but it would not work until after I restarted it. 4. The app (for parent's phone) is terrible. It logs out every week or so so all notifications stop until I login and verify via SMS code again. It is very confusing and does not allow changing most watch settings. Pairing the app to the watch is a mess. Service must be registered as a parent (ok) but this causes watch to show with parent's name, not child's name, then have to remove the watch, factory reset and re-pair again to get the child's name right in the app. Can not rename the watch or user (child) in the app. Can not change most settings in the app after watch is paired. Most changes require removing the watch from the app, factory reset the watch and pair again with new details. App rating on Android AppStore is 1.1 for a reason. 5. Support does not reply at all. AI agent asks a bunch of unrelated questions and I spend time to answer those, it tells me that a human will reply and that's the end of it. Just a waste of time.
During the times that the watch worked it was OK, if lucky to connect a call then call clarity was acceptable. Settings on the watch are somewhat wrongly prioritised but acceptable. Weight and comfort are ok. In the first 10 days since purchase the battery life was acceptable but it is not an indicator how the battery will behave in the longer term.
JB Hi-Fi refunded the purchase cost for the watch (thanks JB Hi-Fi), but the $90 cost of activating the SIM (which comes with the watch) is lost. Waste of time and money and upset child that the gift was a fail.
Follow-up · 32 days since contacting support there has been no response at all.

Possibly the worst watch imaginable. Can't go back in the menu. Can't reliably activate the screen. Can't activate sim. Zero stars if possible. These watches have constantly glitched over the past year, having to be regularly restarted so that the time is correct and freezing regularly, but we have persisted. contacted Spacetalk at least 5 times with no reply. Over $300 out of pocket and no interest from them in helping me out in any way! Absolutely terrible customer service! Yet I’m receiving daily advertising from them. Poor form! Would not recommend!
Very Bad Support System. I have purchased a Loop watch for my kid - so that he can come back from neighborhood school by himself. He can talk to parents and his walking can be tracked. I am assuming my phone is gone and assuming this is a SCAM .
I am going to take legal steps to get my money back.
Stopped working after 1 day but what was worse was the included spacetalk Sim. The spacetalk mobile plan company is a scam as they refuse to give refunds, leaving legal proceedings as the only avenue for dispute resolution. Never buy this product, it is junk and the companies behind it have combative customer support. Show details

When it works, the watch is excellent for maintaining safe contact with kids without needing to take the big step of giving them a phone. I'd like to begin by acknowledging the positive experience I had with the customer service team. They were responsive and helpful, and I truly appreciated receiving a replacement device. unusable. Despite being in an urban area with excellent coverage and having the watch fully updated, location updates can take up to 20 minutes. This delay renders the device ineffective as a reliable tracking tool for a child.
Additionally, while the app has shown some improvement recently, it remains buggy and prone to errors. It's extremely frustrating to rely on a product for safety and peace of mind, only to find that it doesn’t perform as promised.
Given the strong market demand for reliable child-tracking devices, it's surprising that more effort hasn’t been invested in developing a product that truly works. There's a clear opportunity here for a company to get it right and be rewarded accordingly.
Purchased a Spacetalk Loop, only to find during unbox - setup, that the device it locked to Spacetalk Mobile plan. purchase. There is small print under the box talking about needing a Spacetalk mobile plan or other 4G with Spcetalk app subscription, however I have not been able to find anything in their support about using 3rd party SIM.
If Spacetalk has decided to be come a mobile phone service provider, trying to lock unsuspecting customers into their plans might not be the best strategy? Also, perhaps they can work on including more features, such as International Roaming, which would be very valuable for such a device when traveling with children!
Product was purchased in November 2024, activated and in use in January 2025. End of February, malfunctioned with user unable to activate buttons to answer or make calls. The sole purpose of the watch was to have the user be able to contact parents in emergency. This malfuncti has raised doubts about the integrity of the product. Shame to see that the box print claimed to be Australia's favourite. Thank you JB for a quick refund. Show details
