I had a very disappointing experience with Splend. I attended a scheduled vehicle inspection as requested. Without any prior written notice or warning, my vehicle was retained, and I was told I had to pay $14,000 to get it back. This came as a complete shock. At the time, my rental payments were up to date, and I had already paid for the… Read more

following week in advance. I was not provided with a clear explanation, a detailed breakdown of the charges, or any evidence to justify the amount they were demanding.

I expected a fair and transparent process, but instead I felt pressured and treated unfairly. I hope Splend improves its communication, customer service, and dispute resolution process so that other customers do not have the same experience.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Splend.

I do not recommend Splend to anyone out there who’s trying to do Uber Driver at all. Stay away from this company who will rip you off at the earliest chance. I stayed with them for few years and they ripped me off at every time something went wrong! I have had a horrible experience with Splend in Nedlands. They used to charge me over $600 for an… Read more

electric vehicle every single week and if anything happens like a little dent in the car, they will rip me off with $1500 excess policy! They force you to go with their insurance company and they designed it in a way to make you pay for most of the repairs with $1500 excess insurance. If you are late like few days in paying off your weekly pay, they activate a traumatising beeping sound in the car that you cannot move more than 100 meters before it starts to beep! And if you don’t pay your access insurance straight away, they start to threaten you to take the car straight away from you or making you pay the full repair! This guy in their branch in Nedlands Wa called me nasty and he abused me with his words so many times trying to put me down and making fun of me just because I couldn’t pay the $1500 excess when someone hit my car and ran away! Every driver I met was trying to leave them and expressed the same anger and emotions about them! They simply make you make $700 net profit after 7 days of work 10 hours a day with Uber! It’s more like slavery! I met this Indian guy when I was charging the Tesla and he was so angry with them and said the same thing that they ripped him off and he’s not making any money, and it’s Less than what a MacDonald worker would earn. One day someone hit my car and ran away! This guy sent me an invoice of $1400 and he never provided me with any detailed invoice by the repairer! He typed it himself in the computer trying to fool me! The last incident I had with them is when I realised I must stop working as an Uber driver as I am being enslaved making $700 net profit after 7 days a week 10 hours a day because by the time you pay your energy which is around $200 and $200 in GST and taxes and Splend used to charge up to $600 every week after adding their excess KM charges, I ended up with $750 per week after working 7 days a week 10 hours a day! so when I decided to take back the car, they sent me a bill of $2880 for simple wear and tear thing on the power steering and where I used to rest my arm. The Invoice had a different registration number of my car. I have been quoted $500 to fix the torn items by someone else. They even took $99 for the keycard of the Tesla even the card was completely functional and it had a bit of wear and tear on it. They also changed the whole power steering for $1500 even it was only the leather torn on the outside and they could have changed the leather only. In short, do not believe them when they say you will make $3500 per week. That’s a big lie! You only going to end up with $750 in your account after 7 days a week 10 hours a day! Do not go with them they will rip you off! This is my honest opinion after going with them for few years! My opinion is based on my real experience with them! They are a company with full of hidden charges they will hit you with when things go wrong! I repeat! Do not go with them! They traumatised me! True story!

⭐ 1 Star – Extremely Disappointing Experience I had a very frustrating experience with Splend and I feel other drivers should be aware. After ending my vehicle subscription early, their collections team contacted me and we mutually agreed on a payment arrangement for the outstanding amount of approximately $7,602. The agreement was clearly… Read more

confirmed: • $3,800 to be charged on 06/03/2026 • The remaining balance to be paid through weekly payments of $146 over 26 weeks.

I uploaded my new credit card details specifically for this agreed payment. However, instead of charging the agreed amount, the company charged the full $7,602 to my credit card.

This was not the payment arrangement we agreed to, and it placed significant financial stress on me. I have written email proof of the agreement, yet the charge processed was completely different.

I have now been forced to formally dispute the transaction and escalate the matter. Situations like this seriously damage trust, especially when customers rely on written agreements with a company.

I strongly encourage anyone considering this service to carefully review all agreements and monitor any charges very closely.

I signed up for Splend under a rent-to-own subscription, based on the advertised “Up to 4 weeks Annual Payment Holiday option”, which reasonably sounded like a pause on payments. Under normal circumstances, I pay $439 per week for the vehicle. During the so-called payment holiday, I was still charged $99 per week and was restricted to 200km per… Read more

week.

After the holiday period, I was then charged an additional ~$300 per week for two consecutive weeks, labelled as “holiday subscription charges.”

In practical terms, this meant there was no real payment holiday at all — I continued paying weekly, then was charged again afterwards, while being unable to use the car properly due to the mileage restriction.

This was the main reason I decided to return the vehicle, even before raising other issues I experienced during the subscription. The lack of clear and transparent communication around this option was extremely disappointing.

While these conditions may be written in the contract, they were not clearly explained or highlighted during sign-up. Being told “it’s in the contract” after the fact does not make this acceptable.

I am returning the car because of how disappointed I am with this experience, and I strongly recommend anyone considering Splend to read the full contract carefully, as “payment holiday” does not mean cost-free.

Bogus invoice charges – Seven months after returning the Polestar 2 to Splend they sent a bogus invoice and debited my bank account $1,500. I tried phoning no success, as they couldn’t explain it so I went into the office and was ignored and they were too busy to see me. So I’m stuck with a bill I don’t know what for. The invoice indicated repairs to damaged front but I… Read more

Avoid Splend if you can. My experience has been ongoing claim disputes with no transparent explanation of fault, an excess I paid that I believe shouldn't have been charged, and constant delays for basic things like vehicle exchanges, servicing, and accident inspections — sometimes losing a full day waiting on processes that should be routine.… Read more

Communication from their debt collection team has been unprofessional and showed little understanding of my own contract terms. Most concerning: I discovered the buzzer trigger loud noises in car on missed payment due dates, which I never agreed to and illigaly use and against mentioned in contract. Vehicles also feel maintained to the bare minimum. Their priority is clearly collecting payments, not supporting services and extremely bad company environments.

I wouldn't recommend this company for a few reasons: 1. If you finish your "flex own" contract early, you don't get any benefits. You can't even get remaining services like brakes and machined discs after you finalize the contract. I'd tell current customers to use all their services before finalizing the contract! 2. I referred my friend for… Read more

"flex own" but didn't get the referral bonus because they said I finished my contract before my referral even got their car. I guess I only get the bonus after he gets a car. 3. Customer service is really bad. You always have to wait on the line, even if you have an appointment. Most of the people aren't very polite, except for a few nice guys. Simon is super disrespectful and unhelpful (0 stars for him). I'd only give 5 stars to Uday. He's really helpful and kind. 5. The insurance process is so slow. I still haven't gotten my excess money after 4 months, and it wasn't even my fault in that accident.

I am writing this review to warn other rideshare drivers about the massive operational disconnect between Splend’s customer service and accounts teams, which has directly caused a severe loss of my livelihood and financial distress. Recently, I picked up my rent-to-own vehicle from repairs. Splend failed to proactively notify me that the… Read more

vehicle's pink slip inspection was expiring. Because of this oversight, my Uber driver account was forced offline. Splend support formally apologized via email and eventually refunded the $51 inspection fee, but the administrative delay in getting the paperwork processed cost me significant revenue and threw my entire driving schedule into disarray. The situation escalated further due to an unacceptable breakdown in communication between their departments. I was explicitly assured by a customer service representative that my weekly billing would be adjusted to $250.00 and that my vehicle’s smart-device ("beeper") immobilizer would not go off. Instead, the accounts team ignored this and attempted to direct debit an unauthorized $395.00. Because their system failed to draw the incorrect amount, they actively triggered the vehicle's immobilizer alert on two separate occasions (last Thursday and again this Monday morning), completely paralyzing my ability to work. To make matters worse, when I contacted the accounts team regarding this ongoing harassment, they openly acknowledged that they had a record of the pending credit request on my account. Unbelievably, they stated it was "not their issue" and that the full payment had to be made regardless. Because Splend weaponized the vehicle's immobilizer system over their own internal billing error, I was left with absolutely no choice but to pay the incorrect, unauthorized amount under extreme financial duress just to get my vehicle running so I could earn an income today. I have made this payment strictly under protest. While individual customer service reps acknowledge Splend's mistakes, their accounts department operates with a complete disregard for customer agreements and consumer rights. When a vehicle management company makes an administrative blunder, the driver should not be blackmailed with vehicle lockouts and forced to pay for the company's mistakes.

If you enjoy being treated with no respect, no empathy, and like a rent-paying dog, Splend is heaven for you. I requested tyre replacements multiple times before an accident caused by worn tyres in wet conditions — still got blamed and charged the excess. What actually happened? Splend organised a Jax Tyres appointment 1.5 hours away without… Read more

even notifying me properly, I cancelled it, followed up multiple times over the next 4–5 weeks, and nobody got back to me until the accident happened.

Even after repairs, the car continued wobbling at highway speeds and I wasted weeks going back and forth losing income, time, and peace of mind.

I complained at least 5 times, travelled from Beaconsfield multiple times wasting hours and income, drove a temporarily repaired BMW with ongoing wobbling, lost Uber Black eligibility at times, got customer complaints about the vibration — yet still paid $679/week plus excess kilometre charges for a “premium” vehicle experience.

So apparently: If Splend delays, ignores follow-ups, or mishandles bookings — it’s still somehow the driver’s fault.

And regarding the “payment plan” It wasn’t generosity. It was simply splitting a mandatory $1500 excess into 3 payments. I paid the second instalment on time both times and only asked for one extra day for the last payment.

Not once during this entire process did anyone genuinely take responsibility or even speak with basic empathy. Every conversation felt like blame, pressure, and attitude.

After years with them, I genuinely felt more like a problem to manage than a customer to support.

One day late on payment? Endless calls, beeper on, car disabled immediately. But when you need help from them? Emails ignored, no accountability, no urgency.

The culture feels simple: Their mistakes become your problem. Your mistakes become your punishment.

After years with them and thousands paid, I expected professionalism and basic human respect. Didn’t get either.

⚠️ Read this before you sign. On day one everything is perfect — that's why they have so many 5-star reviews (they ask you to leave a review that same day while they watch over your shoulder). The problems start later. My experience after 3 years: Buzzer: If your payment is late by hours, they activate an alarm that makes the car unusable. I… Read more

reviewed the entire contract: there is no clause authorising the buzzer as a debt collection tool. The contract only allows a $40 fee or termination. Not-at-fault excess: I was hit by another driver, paid the $1,500 excess. They said if they recovered from the at-fault party, they'd refund me. In 2021 they said they recovered nothing. In 2026 they admitted they did recover money — and still didn't refund me the full amount. Claims ignored my emails for over a year. Phantom charges: They charged me $180 for glass damage 5 months after returning the car, even though their own signed inspection marked EVERYTHING as PASS. I'm not the only one. never given a full contract to read before signing. The beeper nor the aggressive attitude was ever explained to me. Nor was it explained that if the payment was missed at 12.00am but still paid before business opened or paid the same day it would still be considered as late payments. It was never explained it was a breach of contract to not pay at that exact time. Late payments are when they are made after 4pm of that business day. I mistakenly thought we were going to be working together, not treated as terrible risks and considered a bad payer when payments are still paid on the date they are due. Not at the hour Splend wished but within the same day.

My experience with Splend has been generally good. The car was clean, well maintained, and ready to work. Everything is included (registration, insurance, servicing), which makes it very convenient to start driving quickly with Uber. The only downside is that the weekly cost is quite high, especially if you plan to use the car long term. Overall, it’s a good option for new drivers or short-term use. Show details
