installation, they issued me an invoice for $3,307.
The issue isn’t the extra $95. It’s that they increased the price without obtaining my approval before carrying out the work. I was the customer who accepted the original quote, yet they simply proceeded with the installation and then presented me with a higher invoice afterwards.
What made this even more concerning was that no explanation or justification was ever provided for the price increase. They simply charged more than the agreed fixed price without discussing it with me first or giving me an opportunity to accept or decline the revised amount.
To me, this felt like a classic bait and switch. A lower price was quoted to secure the job, only for the price to increase once they were on site, leaving me with little practical choice but to pay. If the quoted price was subject to inspection or could change, that should have been made clear from the outset, and I should have been asked to approve the revised price before any work commenced.
When I questioned this, the person I spoke to on the phone was rude and dismissive rather than trying to resolve the issue professionally.
Afterwards, I looked through other online reviews and found other customers describing similar experiences. Based on my experience, this doesn’t appear to be an isolated incident.
Be very careful if you use this company. Get every quote in writing, ask whether the price is subject to inspection, and insist that they obtain your approval before carrying out any work if the price changes. In my experience, this was an unethical way to do business, and I won’t be using them again.

brackets and payment was insisted on completion. I e-mailed the office and was told the installation would be rectified the next day. The rectification next day was carried out using blocks of wood to bridge the unit from the wall, which was unsatisfactory. The installers told me they would need to charge me an additional fee to change pipework if I wanted it perfect, which I could see was totally unnecessary seeing this system was an identical replacement. Soon after they left I removed the blocks of wood and installed the unit using proper mounting devices. The unit can be bought for $1000 on-line and installation is straightforward, I agreed to the $1850 cost prior to installation, however for 20 minutes work and poor installation I was taken for a ride. I find it totally unacceptable to prey on people when vulnerable, i.e. when your HW goes down and you need a quick fix.

Follow-up · It took around 1-3 hours. They replaced my old hot water system and replaced it with a new one. There was clean up included which consisted of taking away your old hot water system and the cardboard for the new.

gas main is the responsibility of your gas infrastructure provider so I learnt (but a plumber can also repair but at a fee rather than for FREE which the infrastructure provider does). I ended up having to pay the call out and labour fee ($280 for 20 min) though they are only a 5 minute drive from me, and sent them home. I called my gas provider, within 1 hour, the infrastructure provide was at my premises replacing the faulty part FOR FREE!. They told me that so many people call plumbers, hot water providers etc first rather than them (highlighted on every ones gas bill is a statement asking you to call them if you have a gas problem) end up getting caught out paying enormous fees. IF YOU HAVE A GAS PROBLEM, CALL YOUR INFRASTRUCTURE PROVIDE LIKE JEMENA ETC FIRST AND THEY WILL COME OUT FOR FREE TO CHECK THE PROBLEM. IF IT IS A INFRASTRUCTURE THEY WILL FIX IT FOR FREE, IF IT ISN'T, THEY WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT IT IS SO YOU CAN GET QUOTES FROM DIFFERENT COMPANIES BECAUSE YOU WILL KNOW WHAT IT IS. serviceman did not inspect the hot water system and only commented on how old the system is and that there was no parts for it and quoted us for a new system. I have since done my own inspection to find a loose wire and have reconnected it and the system is working properly again without ordering any parts.
This company only wants to change systems and over charge you for it. They only say they will repair the system so that they can tell you that you need a new system and charge you a service fee so that you will use them to change the hot water system. I strongly do not recommend this company.
