I’ve been having BC deliver meats for months now, and every single time the quality is fantastic. Not only that, the meat is packed so well that it stays frozen for hours in case I can’t refrigerate it right away. I’ve never had a bad item from BC, so I cant recommend them highly enough. Show reply

Just love the efficiency of this subscription no having to remember when its due an email from them does that and the meat is great quality and comes packed perfectly. The meat and seafood from Butcher crowd has been of such a high quality, and delicious. We love that the seafood is Not farmed but line caught in the wild, so there is no added nasties. I love the wild salmon and white snapper fillets from Butcher Crowd. It’s my main purchase because I’m not a red meat eater. And both types of fish taste amazing. beautifully in the air fryer with some garlic, onion powder and black pepper with some olive oil over the top. I place it in a foil packet open at the top so there’s no mess to clean up. Delicious with a salad or veggies of your choice.
Follow-up · My orders always arrive on the nominated day and is packed securely with ice packs to keep the salmon frozen which it always is. I have only tried the salmon because it’s my favourite fish.
A little disappointed with the one small piece of sockeye salmon I received. But I’ve spoken to customer service and they have responded with an email and a solution so happy with that. Otherwise, the meat & fish is delicious ! Show 3 replies
Follow-up · Everything I ordered in my last box has been delicious! I called and received advice from a lovely lady. She said to pick the most cost effective items in box then order extras from list ie fish, bacon, sausages as they work Out less per item which is what I have done for my next order, I made many prep meals with my two chicken breasts - see pic

salmon compared to farm raised salmon, I'll never go back. And the salmon patties x2 are 100% meat with no additives and I add my own ingredients (gf breadcrumbs, ginger, garlic, eggs and shallots) and get 4 patties out of the 2 - very tasty! Also, it's important to me to support producers that use sustainable, no chemicals or hormones in their practices. For instance, last year, the Barramundi were not available due to a supply-demand issue, and that's ok. The fish are wild caught, so if there aren't any available, taking care not to overfish stocks, consumers must take that into consideration. Thank you to the farmers and fisherman who go the extra mile and not take short cuts, to provide healthy ingredients for our health. Cheers.

roasts. I don't know if it's just me, but I've always had a hard time finding good quality butchers. Yeah sure, the local one would sell meat but I'm talking about marbled beef. I know of a place in Alexandria but I'm not keen to drive close to an hour for a meat haul all the time. Anyway, I came across Butcher Crowd; I've come across them before but I would get dissuaded once I reached the checkout because of how much it would show up on screen, $170 for 8 steaks. At the time, I thought it was too much but in hindsight I realise that it was because I never bought that many steaks in one go before, so in the past when I saw that amount, I just exited the window on my computer. Until, as I mentioned before, I came across them again but this time they were advertising a free knife and that really caught my eye. I did the calculations and realised that 8 steaks for $170 works out to be just over $21/steak. I usually go to woolies and get steaks for $18 but I decided what the heck, and proceeded with the purchase. I received the package and since they were deep freezer, I was able to keep it in my freezer for a while, so I took my time going through them all. At first, I wasn't all that impressed and just thought it was like steaks I could just get anywhere. It took me over 2 months to go through them all just because I was trying to condition my palate to a wider range of foods at that time. Anyway, it got to a time when I had to get more steaks, this time back to woolies like I usually do and I swear, i thought those steaks were off or something because the quality was lacking. It wasn't off but something was definitely amiss but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I bought and ate another local steak a few days later. Nope. Still the same feeling. It wasn't until the second steak that I realised that I got so used to the Butcher Crowd meats that I was astonished as to how GOOD the product actually is that I found myself making another purchase and signing up to a subscription. Since then, I haven't turned away. I HIGHLY recommend these guys, even to just trial it out one time. You won't be disappointed.

I think Butcher Crowd is a great initiative. I would take ages in the meat aisle at the grocery store, reading and deciphering all of the labels and comparing prices to get the best quality meat for the best price. clean sausages and bacon too! That is a major plus. The meat is always very tasty and we’ve served it to people who have noticed the difference in the taste of the meat.
However, the reason for the 4 stars is because although it feels like a good deal, when I calculate the actual price I end up paying per item, it is quite a bit more than what I’d expect to pay at the grocery store or butcher. The other thing too is the portions of most of the meat are quite small. It works fine for our household of two, but I can imagine this being very tricky to get the value out of it for larger households. Suddenly you’re having to use multiple packets of meat for one dinner… this also gets annoying for cuts like brisket or roasts meats that are traditionally large cuts, but with Butcher Crowd they are relatively small cuts. I think it would be a lot more beneficial if there was more control over the portion size of each meat you are getting when you order it and then the order is priced accordingly. More like going to an actual butcher…
I would also love to see things like pasture raised eggs available for delivery and more nose to tail offers (like mince mixed with organs) or more affordable options to purchase the less desirable cuts of animals and bones for broth.
