Compare The Market

I received a quick and pleasant surprise from this ‘Comparison’ website, I’m very happy with the insurance cover, it was quick and easy to except the offer for my contents cover.

Was confused with private health insurance for many years. Finally took a callback from FRANCESCO who spent over an hour with me on the phone and explained every question I had and the complex nature of private health. I walked away with a great understanding he called back as requested at a later date and I signed up. Could not be happier with this blokes help he went above and beyond! Asset to your company

Felt not really advised about different options. Operator first felt friendly then got super pushy. I think I will cancel the service again. Got up sold, not really what I wanted but more

Like anyone these days, a call from an unsaved number cues an immediate resistance to engage in the conversation even if you consented to being called... Why, because more often than not I (like most people) end a call like that either feeling pushed for a sale, or as though the caller was impersonal throughout the process. Alas! Lachlan P enters the scene... My partners phone rings within moments of her entering our details into compare the market. Flabbergasted, by the time from which details were entered and the call came through to her, shock initially lead the exchange. Unbeknown to Lachlan, the call was on speaker and I initially sat in my usual response to the given situation (here we go again... [eye roll and sigh]). My habitual response to the situation was extinguished almost immediately because my partner and I were taken through the process without any hesitation on our end. For the first time ever my only concern was that I wanted to give some telemarketer my money. WTH?!?

Whilst I would presume trained to some the necessary extent... Lachlan P has something I believe most people aren't taught by such a job position, maybe at best encouraged... The perfect amount of personability and what genuinely felt to be an authentic positive desire to help (most average telemarketers or sales representatives try, but people read between the lines if you get what I'm saying) . I only ever write reviews when I mean it and genuinely want to. Whoever Lachlan P's Managers are better be paying him more than any other telemarketers in the Industry I (and likely most others) come across because If Lachlan P wanted to, I reckon he could get paid a more than healthy sum working somewhere that genuinely values such an employee (if he is not already). Thanks for your help Lachlan P!!! PS, I do not have any reason to believe Comparethemarket do not look after Lachlan or there staff, all I'm saying is it would be within there best interst not to lose Lachlan P as an employee if its an option.

PPS, If somone at comaprethemarket is considering whether to promote Lachlan P, I believe you would be silly not to. Just saying.

The old saying is if you can’t afford travel insurance then you shouldn’t travel. I hate paying travel insurance simply because I never make a claim. the best possible deal. They try and sell me everything when all I want is medical only. One company Zoom says they do not provide medical only for people my age even though I have no medical problems and I have never made a claim which must count for something but it doesn’t. Aren’t insurance premiums all about the risks and I’m not a risk. I tried Compare The Market which provided me with many companies who did medical travel insurance only and at a reasonable price too. Through them I was able get rid of all the extras which lowered my premium substantially. They gave me a great choice of insurance companies, so well done Compare The Market for making it a competitive market place and we all know competition is great for consumers.

alternatives to add my son on. Anthony tried to do his best to absorb his options with me but what he was offering wasn’t suitable for my needs I explained to him what was important to me and he advised that my sons future procedure wouldn’t be covered because it was within the waiting periods which I understood. I was looking for hospital and extras cover he went through a few options with HCF but I was quoted $260 and I explained it wasn’t affordable he then quoted $130 a fortnight however it wasn’t covering me for extras cover so I advised Anthony it wasn’t suitable for me and his tone completely changed and made a comment saying what’s more important to you having extras cover or your son. I was made to feel like a bad mother and he started to patronise me it got to the point he was trying to pressure sell to me and he was just desperate for a sale. I put a complaint forward to customer resolutions team and I got a lovely manager named Karina who had listened to the call and was very disgusted with what she heard on the phone. Karina was very apologetic and had escalated things with Anthony’s direct manager. The reason I am writing this review is to raise awareness for those who are in a vulnerable position needing some help with looking at health insurance. Anthony doesn’t care about you as an individual like what he says he wants to do he is just after your sale. Thank you Karina for your help you have heard my concerns with the comment that was made to me and how he made me feel.

2nd time user with Compare the Market and one who is a little hesitant and unfamiliar with online stuff .... We had been with our current insurer for the past 27 years. Our home and contents insurance had escalated to the stage where we could not afford the full cover offered - including flood insurance. We sought to delete the flood insurance and our current insurer was still way more costly. We went with an insurer who currently had our care insurance - this saved us over $800. Show reply

I compared and received multiple results that were cheaper than my existing insurer. My only issue was that the results didn't work well with my browsers of choice – Safari and Firefox. I couldn't just click forward on the options to see the PDS. The work around was to do comparison, check out the PDS, and then click forward. Show reply

They dont compare the Market, it is really misleading, they only compare Auto and General policies. I got results from ING, Coles, Budget, Oceania and Ozicare, all of which are under written by Auto and General. brands offer low excess/no excess windscreen cover as standard. When selecting the low excess option, it adds $20 on average per month to the cover. Whats the point then if that is the case?

I chose this comparison service to find a better deal on comprehensive car insurance. After answering all the initial online questions truthfully, it gave me a range of quotes. months was $917. I find this to be very misleading and deceptive, and a complete waste of time. Not recommended.

Quoted $4148 for home and contents insurance, when I selected the option the final quote without making any changes increased to$5401. I was told by the insurer that this is common. What a waste of time.

Was directed through my choices with easy language and not rushed by person on the other end. Not being techno saffy I find filling in sections quite daunting so I really appreciated having someone assist me in applying Show reply

Easy to navigate, great to compare options. The only thing I’d have appreciated would be more filter options when comparing, as there were specific policy covers I was weighing up and had to click in to each (or 3 at a time when comparing) to figure out ones that had the cover I needed. Show reply
