Bought v11 is a great machine , but cannot get spare parts and DYSON won’t admit that they don’t have the spare parts and won’t be producing them so it was a complete waste of of my money buying this machine . The customer service at the service centres is fantastic , but I was lied to by the Tele help desk . Show details

Title: $1,100 Paperweight – Dyson is Dead to Me Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Don’t let the premium price tag fool you; the Dyson V11 Absolute is an overpriced piece of garbage. We paid $1 ,100 for this machine five years ago, expecting top-tier engineering for my 100-year-old mother. Instead, we got a headache. In five short years the following has happened: … Read more

the battery required replacement. However, because the serial number is not visible on the original battery, the company has refused to honor the warranty or provide any form of assistance. Also, the trigger snapped and had to be replaced (known fault of this model), the red seal on the dust bin fell out and broke and now the motor has completely died (also seems like a fault in design). When I called Dyson to ask how a $1100 vacuum fails this catastrophically, their "solution" was to tell me the entire body needs replacing (not just the motor - Alibaba $100) for another $300 but would give it to me for $200. This lack of support is extremely disappointing. The offshore call centre could not give a d#mn.

This is the third Dyson I have owned, and it is the third Dyson to end up in the bin. The build quality is abysmal, and the customer service is a joke. I’m done being fooled by the marketing—I will never buy another Dyson product again. Save your money and buy a brand that actually values durability.

  Torque Drive

I purchased the Dyson V11 Torque Drive in 2020. In 2025, the main motor stopped working and, because it was out of warranty, I had to pay $400 for a new main body from Dyson. The replacement parts come with a one year warranty. This year, in 2026 just 45 days after the warranty expired the main body failed again. This time, there is an issue with… Read more

the power supplied to the motor attachment. I contacted Dyson and was told I would need to pay again for a new motor body, with no discount offered.

I have always used Dyson vacuums, but the quality seems to have declined significantly. I would expect a replacement motor body to last longer than one year and 45 days. I will be trying a different brand from now on.

Don't buy if you want to use it – My Vacuum, The Dyson V11 absolute is absolutely the best stick vacuum, Powerful battery can vacuum the whole house on a single charge, sucks like crazy. However it is not for everyday use. Some parts are poorly designed and made from shockingly poor materials. The trigger WILL break. The bin seal is broken requiring a new bin. My Dyson, 3… Read more

years, old needs new parts to a total more than $500 plus fitting. The stick has worn at the top end, OK new stick fixes that's and only $70 or so. BUT the bit the stick plugs into has worn really badly too, That's the bin and motor that needs replacing. Dyson are helpful, with advice on where to buy parts. Although they warn me that the motor and socket are difficult to find, This is my third (and last) Dyson. Buy at your peril. My old fashioned Miele is now 18 years old and still works and looks as new.

Review:

Everyone wants a vacuum cleaner that is powerful, and gets the task done as quickly and effortlessly as possible and this is easily achieved with the new Dyson v11 Absolute Extra. This is one amazing vacuum cleaner!

My first time using the v11 absolute extra cordless vacuum cleaner had me really impressed. I honestly did not expect to be this WOWED.

Home Flooring: Twist pile carpeting. Vinyl flooring. Tiled flooring.

Pets: Maltese dog. Bichon Frise dog. 2 fluffy long haired Ragdoll cats.

Performance: Auto mode, performance is outstanding and fairly effortless when vacuuming the carpet, as well as moving from a carpeted area to a hard floor area. Surprisingly super quick, and thorough with sucking up pet hair, fluff and bits off of the twist pile carpet. Pet hair has always been a challenge to thoroughly vacuum off of the charcoal twist pile carpeting in my house, usually requiring a lot of time, effort and several overpasses with other vacuum cleaners before the carpet is spotless.

Eco mode works great and suitable for hard floors and tiled areas of the house, a quick spot vacuuming, as well as cleaning blinds/curtains etc.

Boost mode is very powerful with incredibly great results in getting hidden dirt out from deep within the carpet. Impressive to say the least!

The LCD screen allows you to see the battery level, as well as a button to select from 3 different cleaning power modes: Auto, Eco, Boost. I love this feature.

The High Torque Cleaner Head glides across the carpet and hard floor surfaces beautifully. Cleaning the head is very easy to remove any hair that has been caught and wound up around the vacuum head. This only took a few seconds to do, compared with several minutes of frustration with other vacuum cleaner heads that I have owned.

Fluffy Cleaner Head is great on the hard floor surfaces, and catches everything, leaving the floors clean and dust free.

Dust bin: Easy ‘point and shoot’ emptying of the dust bin is a huge plus. Until recently, I have never been a fan of bagless vacuum cleaners due to the amount of floating dust when emptying. This is no longer an issue with the v11 absolute extra.

Weight: The vacuum cleaner weight was surprisingly heavier than I thought it would be; 3.9kg doesn’t seem like much but after a while of holding up (not resting on floor) with one hand it’s noticeable and feels quite heavy. Holding up above the head to vacuum the air conditioner etc. is very difficult to manage with the weight. Thankfully the weight is not an issue when positioned on the floor with the high torque and fluffy cleaner heads.

On/Off Function: Finger trigger operation, is a little disappointing. After a while of continuous pressing the finger down to keep the vacuum cleaner running it becomes a little annoying. Could be a problem for people who have arthritis or problems with tendons in the hands etc.

(+) Good Points:

Powerful suction. LCD screen. Cordless vacuuming. Easy to assemble and disassemble. Ease of use. Very low noise levels. (See my included video) Easy to empty the dust bin. Optional click in battery pack.

(-) Not So Good Points:

Wall -mounted dock requires drilling into wall. Weight. Finger trigger operation. Storage of the accessories/tools. Expensive.

Recommend? Yes. If you’re wanting a very powerful and efficient vacuum cleaner and can afford the price tag of the Dyson Absolute Extra cordless vacuum cleaner, I highly recommend purchasing this model.

Purple dust eater – The Dyson V11 Absolute Extra is one of the latest creations from Dyson and I am in love! I purchased my first Dyson vacuum 10 years ago and it’s still running as well as it did the day I purchased it. I won’t buy another brand. do the best job. This stick vac offers the best of both worlds, only better! I can vacuum the whole house without needing to recharge the battery (thankfully because that can take a while). I only need to empty the bin once or twice for a large 4 bedroom house, and it’s super easy to do so and mess free unlike the old barrel option. The high toque brush head is amazing, especially on carpets. I’m realising how much of my hair has been hiding around the house when it seems to be what’s filling the bin. I think it got dirt out of the hall runner that no other vacuum had touched in 20yrs. The fluffy cleaning head is gentle and effective on tiles, cork and floorboards and doesn’t push debris around like other vacuums. The mini motorized tool and stubborn dirt brush are the perfect duo when it comes to cleaning the car, and they’re even better with the boost mode on the Dyson. Dyson have come a long way since I brought them into my home a decade ago. There’s only one thing I would change and that’s a trigger lock so it does have to be held down manually to operate the stick vacuum. I imagine this would be difficult for arthritis sufferers.

I'm in Love with a Vaccum Cleaner- who'd have thought it possible :-) – I'm doing a FULL & complete review on all parts but so far - I'm in love This is sooooooooo easy to use & I cannot believe how easily it picked up the GSD hair. GSD ( German Shepherd Dogs) shed ALL YEAR & it gets stuck in the carpet. We usually have to use our runners & scratch at the carpet like a chicken - or use a rubber rake BEFORE I can… Read more

vacuum the carpet, as it's embedded with 40 years of dog hair The wind blows it onto the Slate kitchen floor- and tiled laundry - and into the Bathroom & Toilet Getting this hair off the stairs- is a nightmare I did a quick run over all floors and couldn't believe the simplicity - yet strength of this device What I've discovered is I used the smaller head on my embedded carpet on full power I was STUNNED We'd only vacuumed the carpet a few days earlier & the DYSON V11 Absolute Extra made me feel like it hadn't been done in months It got so much hair - I was amazed I tried the bigger head but the smaller DOES get the embedded dog hair right out of the carpet I was amazed how easy it is to use & the fact I didn't get asthma! I was actually a little scared of it - as it looks almost " space age " I also have another dog - which likes to "dig" into the carpet I'm allergic to dust - and using a vaccum cleaner is a TASK I HATE doing - I get exhausted dragging it from room to room and not getting anywhere with the GSD hair I have done a short video - but I really want to put this through ALL it's paces

I got my car cleaned & we take a Dalmatian in it, as well as the GSD - and I discovered (to my horror) under the seat & the seats have tiny little white Dalmatian hairs & under seat a tonne of sand (from dogs swimming) I was not happy (as you can imagine) so I actually put this through a thorough test to see how powerful it really is on getting rid of those pesky little hairs So far, I'm seriously - in love I can tell you right now - my GSD runs when she sees the other cleaner - she didn't even care about the Dyson As shown in the video I've just done the carpet & changed power & went straight onto Slate floor The kitchen is concrete, bricks, tiles & slate - the toaster / jug, microwave is loud in there - so I don't find the DYSON loud for this reason It's quiet - easy to use - light - efficient - I cannot recommend it enough This sounds crazy but I really love it :-) I will do more videos I've given it the complete & 100% TEST of it's life 5 stars :-)

Fantastic Suction. Upgraded from V6 – I chose to go for the Dyson Absolute rather than the Torque as I have more carpets than hard flooring. The Torque only comes with one main head which is better for hard floors. Whereas the Absolute has 2 main heads, one for carpets and the other for hard floors. PROS - Set up was simple and inside the box you do get a generous number of… Read more

attachments. At the time of writing, Dyson also had an offer for an extra cleaning pack which contains an extension, a curved piece for over the top of cupboards and a mattress cleaner - this I am looking forward to.

- The V11 has a nice LCD display which has 3 power functions, eco, auto (detects the suction itself according to the surface) and boost. Eco is more powerful than my V6 on max, which was a pleasant surprise. Running this option you can get around 40-50 minutes depending on your carpet pile. Rather disappointingly, for me, the Auto mode only lasted around 20 minutes as I have a medium pile carpet. So this meant if I wanted to do a "deep clean" I'd have to run around very quickly. The boost is literally only 8-10 minutes so it's used mostly for those hard to clean crumbs.

- The sound of the V11 compared to the V6 is MUCH nicer. It has less of a high pitch making it a lot easier to the ear.

- Another great feature that the V11 has is the HEPA filter. This ensures that clean filtered air is pushed out to the environment, so you don't get that dusty smell as you may with other vacuums.

- Let's just get onto the suction. This did not disappoint. I was shocked to see how much dust had been picked up despite only doing a zip around with the V6 3 days prior. It's so refreshing to see the dust in the barrel. Dyson have also improved the disposal mechanism so you no longer have to get your hands dusty when emptying the bin.

CONS - Boost mode is only 10 minutes. - Auto Mode may only be up to 20 minutes depending on the carpet. - One thing to note is that the device is heavier than the V6, this certainly takes getting used to but on the whole, it was manageable. - Charge time is up to 4 hours for a full battery. I can usually get two cycles before having to charge up. However, for a larger place you may only be able to get one cycle.

CONCLUSION Do I recommend? Well If you're looking to upgrade from one of Dyson's early generation models I would say definitely. For me there is a night and day difference. I'm so happy with the suction and sound of this device. The only down side is the long charge time but hopefully this will be rectified in due course.

be a company that stands by its trustworthy and reliable policies. I recently purchased the V11 Advanced Vacuum, only to find that shortly after, Dyson Australia had a sale on the same product. Without hesitation, they honored their price match policy and refunded me the difference—something that speaks volumes about their integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Now, let’s talk about the V11 Advanced Vacuum itself—what an absolute game-changer! I only wish I had purchased it sooner. Cleaning my home has never been easier. Over the years, we’ve tried various high-end vacuum cleaners, but nothing compares to this one. The sheer power and efficiency of the V11 revealed just how much dirt had been trapped under our carpets—something we never realized until now. Thanks to Dyson, that’s no longer a concern!

If you’re looking for exceptional service, a company that truly values its customers, and a superior product that transforms cleaning into a breeze, Dyson Australia is the way to go. Highly recommended!

Right power, right price; easy mover with smart features – The V11; is it ‘all that’? It is; this machine is a true ‘Iron Mike’; insanely powerful. It runs smoothly, powerfully, has a big battery (which is also perfect at preserving power through auto mode) and it tells you how much time remains on a swanky LCD screen. Best of all, despite its appearance, it’s not heavy and moves gracefully. All new… Read more ·  1

generation V11s also have click in battery option (great if you want a spare to rotate, simpler removal and no screws!)

V11 VS V11 OUTSIZE The V11 Outsize (also discontinued) is really good for massive houses and for easy cleaning of the head. With 225AW, it’s a powerhouse; it easily sucks up almost anything in its path. Additionally, it has a click in battery, a 125% bigger bin, 25% bigger floor head plus it had a fluffy head for hard floors. A former top of the range Dyson, it remains a fantastic vacuum; just maybe too big for some. If you can’t pick one up from remaining stock, then a Gen 5 Outsize is your next closest choice.

V11 vs V8 For those of you saying “I’ll stick with my V8, thank you.” That’s fine; the V8 rocks. But just remember, with 60% more power, that’s how the V11 rolls.

V11 vs V10 A V11 has 40% more power than a V10. There’s also higher max suction (150 AW on the V10, 220AW on the V11). Both have 1 hour battery life. A V10 has screw in battery only while a new V11 gives you the option of Click In. This model has a screw in battery. A V10 offers 3 manually adjustable power modes via a switch. A V11 offers a digital screen with 3 modes that tells you how much battery time remains. Auto/Medium mode optimizes for all all floor types and runs for up to 40 minutes. So the remaining 20 mins will be via Eco mode- clever stuff, as in that time, Auto mode will have taken care of the major nitty gritty, boosting power when needed depending on the level/type of floor/allergen.

HEADS (MOTORBAR) The V11 Torque drive option has a head with an adjustable gate (3 settings); superbly powerful and a great all-rounder. Changing the setting on the gate will increase/decrease the battery time. On newer V11s, the new motorbar has improved tackling of pet hair (via 56 de-tangling vanes) and also prevents hair build up on your brush bar. This is also the same motorbar as on the newer V7, V8, V10, but crucially, the power it receives from the V11 is notably greater. The quick release mini motorhead is brilliant for cars, pet stations and pillows. It has now updated to an anti-screw tool.

BATTERY Lots of people misuse and overuse max power (known as boost from V11 upwards) to the detriment of the battery. With a V11, auto mode intelligently switches you only to boost mode as and when needed. How? You ask. The smart sensors detect how much dirt or what floor type you are on and switch to either eco, auto or boost. That way, you are preserving you battery life and vacuuming your house without compromise.

CHARGER/STAND The plug is the same as that for the V11 Outsize, V10 and V15. There is also a Dyson standing floor dock available as an optional extra.

FILTER The advanced filtration captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. The LCD screen also prompts you when it needs cleaning. There is, however, nothing to stop you from purchasing a green Dyson HEPA filter which will give you a better level of filtration, down to 0.1 microns (we are getting to such a level of deep cleaning here that it can pick up viruses!) It will fit, but be careful not to pick the Outsize filters, as they are bigger variants that will not fit.

TOOLS Comes with a clip, crevice tool, combination tool, stubborn dirt brush, soft dusting brush plus a quick release mini motorhead.

WEIGHT The V11 is 1lb heavier than a V10 (6.68lbs vs 5.8lbs)

SUMMARY The V11 is in the middle of the fleet and is likely to keep more users, more happy, more of the time due to its weight, power and price - one of my favourite Dyson's for sure. If you want a bigger bin, better power and the best battery option compared to a V7, V8 and V10, start from here as your first Dyson port of call. It is also nice to have a click in battery option as well as the digital display which takes the effort out of picking modes (via Auto) and guessing how long is exactly left on your battery. Another swaying factor for getting a V11 is the choice of heads or motorbars. If you are a pet owner and want a V11, strongly consider the the motorbar de-tangling technology. If you want greater power and gate adjustment, then opt for the Torque drive version (but keep in mind this doesn’t have the hair detangling vanes.) It also tends to move a little smoother, also, but availability maybe limited. For most (given the popularity of pets) the newer motorbar will be the go to. If you want both features, however, you will have to go for a V15 or Gen 5. Back to the V11; as bigger Dyson vacuum, that’s both easy to move and packing punchy power, the V11 is a true hit, plus one that simply has to be on your consideration list.

7 reasons this vacuum is definitely not for me! – Used my sister-in-laws new Dyson V11 Advanced today to vacuum the house. For me this vacuum is a absolute FAIL for the following reasons: * the hand piece (with battery) is too heavy, and you tire easily from using it * holding the lever you must depress continually, to make the vacuum go, was a pain and I ended up with a blister * the dust barrel… Read more

needs emptying every 5-10 minutes (because it's so small) * the dust bag is difficult to empty because it is so small, and I ended up having to put my hand up inside to release the dust beside the barrel on the inside - gross! * the battery did not last the length of time required to complete vacuuming on one level of an average sized two storied house * when using the straight head to vacuum along skirting boards, the head is quite long and coupled with the hose length it ends of being very long and a bit wobbly, meaning its impossible to get right in there, like you can with a regular vacuum *you absolutely could not use this vacuum to vacuum your car, because there is no bend in the hose

I always thought I wanted one of these vacuums, but after using it, I will be sticking with my old roll-along Dyson. Much superior by far!

The Dyson V11 is a great vacuum that actually makes cleaning more enjoyable. I like how easy the cordless design makes it to move around. The suction power is strong, and emptying the bin is simple. The only downsides are that it’s a bit on the heavier side, and you have to keep holding the trigger while using it. There are trigger locks you can buy online to keep it on, but they’re not always the best quality. Show reply

Regularly blockages – Although the suction is great on this machine it CONSTANTLY clogs up. The small hole in the bin area blocks whenever there is pet hair, human hair being vacuumed up. Very frustrating having to empty the machine when it is not even half full. Definitely a design fault!! Disappointed as our previous Dyson was brilliant

Dyson V11 common Trigger Fault. $5 part but Dyson will not repair – This is my 2nd Dyson Vacuum Cleaner in over 10 years. This V11 I purchased in 2020 for $1199 and after 4 1/2 years it has died. It is such a common problem, simply doing a search on Google, even AI Assistant reports it is a common problem, plus there are thousands of posts about the issue, how to buy a new switch from ebay for $5 and fix it yourself. I am done with Dyson as their failure to recognise this as a common fault and not fix it free of charge simply shows the Dyson that used to be customer friendly, no longer cares. I'm going to buy a cheap KMart Vacuum. Please find attached 4 different people with this issue showing in the photos the crack that occurs.
