AI reviews summary
The overall sentiment for E.Z Locksmith is highly polarised, with reviews either praising rapid response times or alleging predatory pricing and deceptive business practices. While many customers appreciate the speed and technical skill of specific technicians like Chris, Felix, and Ben, a significant number of reports highlight a recurring pattern of bait-and-switch pricing. These negative experiences frequently involve undisclosed fees, aggressive "up-selling" upon arrival, and pressure to provide 5-star reviews in exchange for discounts.

Verdict
E.Z Locksmith is a viable option for those prioritising speed and immediate access in an emergency, provided the customer is willing to pay a significant premium. However, due to widespread reports of price gouging and deceptive quoting practices, users should insist on a total written quote before the technician begins any work.
These guys are a rip off, charged me $500 to remove and replace mailbox lock. This is around $30 small lock charged me $279 for the lock. Stay way from them , if you do not want to loose money
Front door handle snapped so called EZ Locksmith, goes to an overseas call Centre. They fwd my call on and I received a call back pretty quickly. They said they would be 1hr(4pm), doesn’t turn up till 8.30pm. Takes 15minutes to do the job- $428 /29 call out fee, $300 for Labour and the rest is the cost of a new lock set!!!!! I wanted to keep the… Read more
same key, that’s why I called a Locksmith but it wouldn’t fit so I would have been better off going down to Bunnings and buying my own lock set for $100 and replacing the broken one!!!
Deceptive practices with vague quotes and insane pricing, advertising 15 minute call outs and taking 50 minutes. 3 times more expensive than any other local locksmith.

Impressive work. Really satisfied with service and recommended, highly recommend this service
Routine change of door handle cost 723.80. Pricing completely misleading in value. Invoice not issued and when I requested the invoice, it didn’t match the agreed itemised pricing and according to them, this does not matter as long as the total price is the same. I was offered 20% refund of the total price as a sign of goodwill which I declined. I… Read more

Felix is a great guy and very professional. I will recommend using their services.

Felix was prompt and professional. Thank you for quick service and fair price
Not actually a locksmith. Did thousands of dollars damage while trying to install a lock and would not reimburse. Consumer Affairs also have warnings out for them.Locksmith was called Ron.

- +3
Guy just destroyed my door and split the side before telling me he can’t install the door handle. Before allowing him on my premises, I asked both him and the operator separately if the installers are qualified. I was told yes but that’s obviously false. Their website also advertises their installers are qualified & experienced. The guy drilled… Read more
the hole so large in the door I have no idea what he was thinking - how does the lock barrel even get screwed in?? He then tried to tell me the screws were wrong & I needed to change the handle & lock. It didn't matter what screw you have if there is no wood in the door to secure it against. Wanted me to pay after trashing my door. Told him to beat it. Seriously, save yourself a nightmare experience & avoid these guys

Door unlocked and barrel changed out all within a hour.
Follow-up · Never sent out my invoice after payment after asking multiple times. Replaced using cheap barrels wouldn’t use again
Third time lucky, very long story short we had our front door lock replaced, price given after lock fitted at $900+, i complained at the time re the… Read more
price was ignored, no invoice given, door lock does not work. Complaint made re door lock not working case was closed without contact being made.complaint made again. The company explained they were working on customer service and offered 10% refund. I would still have a broken lock. One of their comments on there page “no fix no charge garentee” my lock is not fixed!!!
Follow-up · I would expect a refund as the lock is worse than before it was installed. And i was definitely taken advantage of with the charges $900+ is ridiculous
Follow-up · I wish i could use no stars as that is the standard of their customer service
Well there is still no satisfactory solution to this extremely poor customer service the door… Read more
The prices are exorbitant. Approx. $2600 to pick and rekey 9 standard residential locks. The receipt was also very vague and confusing. We asked for the receipt to be itemized, but it was not. There were random words on the receipt, not what we… Read more
brought or had done. The receipt was also watermarked with the name of a different company. This is giving multiple red flags. This is a crime syndicate.
Follow-up · It took less than one hour. The work was done. The worker left a mess. We realised later that we were heavily overcharged. It should NOT have costed over $50 per lock.

Overpriced, poor experience. Got charged $1300 to unlock staff 3 lockers and change lock barrels on 5 lockers. 1hr job. The guy fixed the wrong locker, when asked to come back, he promised he would but didn't. Stay away.
I requested a quote to have my locks rekeyed and made it clear during the initial call that I only wanted the quote. I was told that the quote could only be provided onsite, but at no stage was I informed that a call‑out fee would apply. When the technician arrived, the quote provided was not acceptable to me, and I was then charged a call‑out… Read more
fee that had never been disclosed. The issue is not the fee itself — it is the lack of transparency and clear communication. Had I been advised upfront, I would have made a different decision.
In addition, the attitude and professionalism of the technician who attended were well below expectations. Overall, the experience was disappointing and does not reflect the level of service I anticipated.

Very disappointed to be charged over $600 for a 2 minute job. The guy Nicko talked so long, used “god bless” if this job was a quick job and the lock didn’t need breaking, which it didn’t but still charged above the quoted amount. I argued the $100 urgency call out” because I was not told that he was in the middle of another job and he rushed out… Read more
to us. Nicko called his boss to waiver the urgency but it still ended up more than what it should have been, claiming he didn’t care because all he got was the hourly wage. He charged over the $495 or so for the 6 pin barrel and the $29 call out. BEWARE. Do not recommend.
To be honest, very unhappy . The guy who came to our house had limited knowledge . Did nothing and charged 99 AUD callout fee . Be careful recommending to call someone else .
$29 call out fee but wouldnt quote over the phone on arrival over $500 to unlock a front door at 2pm on saturday took one look at it said its restricted, took a plate off and drilled a hole, total time taken 2mins, then wanted me to pay by bank transfer and i would get an invoice after. In hindsight would have been cheaper to book a hotel for 2 nights and pick up a key monday morning
EZ Locksmiths 03 4050 9171 https://ezlocksmith.com.au I was in need of a locksmith and call them. They quoted a $29 flat call out fee and arrive in 15 mins. I called at 2pm and they said that they could arrive between 4pm and 6pm. Which I was fine with. Then at 5pm they called and said 6:10pm was earliest they can arrive by. They arrived at… Read more
6:20pm, quoted $245 to fix first lock and $120 to fix second lock. AFTER the job was finished they asked for the $365 PLUS the $29 flat call out fee PLUS $150 for AFTER HOURS work despite the booking taking place at 2PM PLUS 15% labour fee and 10% GST. YES I know I was being scammed and could have just paid the $400 ($394 to be exact) but after a long day and alot of arguing I just CBF arguing any further so ended up paying $600 to settle it.
Locked out - act of god (as sliding a glass door locked me out!! 530PM. Had the phone. EZ Locksmith $29 callout 15 min arrival came first. Called a man arrived. Claimed it was a very secure lock (just a bluff) took 90 seconds for him to open the door. Pushed me to pay through bank transfer. No invoice. All verbal. "Hurry, I have to serve… Read more
another customer". Under duress paid $796. Complained on the phone today. "tell me your email" It's a long one. Spelling on phone 20 letters too hard for me as I'm not native English speaker and the person on the phone had a thick accent too. No other way of communicating. Call disconnected.
Felix was punctual, professional, and efficient. He quickly resolved the issue, communicated clearly, and delivered high-quality service at a fair price. Highly recommended.
It's a scam; stay away from these crooks. quoted for $120-150 for unlocking my parents' door, but charged $470 in the end. claimed the lock was non-standard and difficult, but completed in than 5 minutes. I wish I could give it a negative rating. I highly suspect the high review ratings on this site are rigged. The Product Review team should do something.
Roy was absolutely amazing — truly a legend. He opened a complex 5-pin lock in the blink of an eye after we accidentally locked ourselves out. He was very modest, yet completed the job quickly and with great quality. We’re extremely happy with his service. Highly recommended.
