Consumers express overwhelmingly positive sentiment regarding the Haier Monoblock Heat Pump Water Heater, praising its high energy efficiency, exceptionally quiet operation, and reliable hot water delivery. Many users note significant reductions in their utility bills, particularly when integrating the system with rooftop solar panels during daytime hours. While a few reviewers point out minor limitations with the mobile application and setup documentation, the overall feedback highlights a well-performing, cost-effective, and modern hot water solution.
Very happy with my new Haier electric water heat pump system which replaced my old Rheem gas hot water system. Surprisingly quieter than I was expecting, delivers fairly instant hot water with great flow. Installation went exceptionally smoothly and I look forward to reduced gas bills with a minimal increase in electricity bills. Show details
We have had the 330L Monoblock Heat Pump Water Heater installed for two months now and are very happy with its performance. It is a good, efficient system that provides reliable hot water. The unit works well and has operated smoothly without any issues so far. Overall, we are very satisfied with the system and its performance and would recommend it to anyone looking for an efficient and reliable hot water solution. Thanks. Show details
This was a replacement for a standard resistance element type hot water heater. Being both higher capacity and lower energy were important to us, so this Haier fit the bill well. So far it is doing its job well. The only gripe is the required pre-mix valve was set a bit low by default, but this is a minor quibble. So far it's great, and I can… Read more
already see the difference in the power bill. We installed it over winter and it's been great. No change in hot water amounts or quality.

Cannot be more satisfied with the heat pump. Provides excellent water temperature in a short space time with good flow. Would highly recommend this appliance. Show details
Great heat pump hot water system. We had the Haier HP250M1U1 (250L Monoblock) installed and it's been working well since day one. Runs very quietly, recovers quickly, and the SmartHQ app makes it easy to check and adjust settings. The 250L size is a comfortable fit for our household. Installation by Sunpak Hot Water was fast and professional. Happy with the purchase so far. Show details
We replaced a 20-year-old gas storage hot water unit that had started leaking at the pressure valve, with the Haier Monoblock 330L. For a household of 5 with morning-only, staggered bathing, the 330L capacity has been more than sufficient so far — no issues with hot water availability. The unit itself is genuinely quiet in daily use — noticeably… Read more
less intrusive than I expected given it sits close to the house. Installation was straightforward, using the existing plumbing location with no major modifications needed. We've set it to run on a daytime-only schedule (off overnight) given our morning usage pattern, which has worked well. The SmartHQ WiFi app has turned out to be genuinely useful, not just a gimmick. Being able to switch to Vacation mode remotely before a trip — rather than needing to physically get to the unit beforehand or leave it running unnecessarily while the house is empty — is a small but handy feature we didn't fully appreciate until we actually used it. The warranty coverage is a strong point — 7 years on the tank, 5 years on parts and labour for other components — genuinely reassuring compared to some competitors we researched with shorter labour cover. It's early days for us in terms of long-term reliability, but the initial experience — performance, quietness, ease of use, and the app control — has been very positive. Would recommend for a family-sized household looking to move off gas.
Upgraded to this water heater recently and it’s been fantastic. It operates so quietly you barely even notice it's running, and its thermal insulation is top-notch—it retains water temperature amazingly well throughout the day and night without constantly cycling back on. The app integration makes monitoring live water temperatures effortless.… Read more
Best of all, the built-in scheduling allows me to time the main heating cycles for midday when our solar system is producing peak power.
Very happy with the unit so far. I’ve had the Haier heat pump for about 2 weeks and in that time it has performed really well. There has been plenty of hot water for normal household use and I haven’t noticed any temperature fluctuations. It has been reliable during the cooler, cloudy weather and Its also very quiet. My experience so far has been… Read more

I’ve installed my new Haier Monoblock heatpump for nearly a month and I’ve noticed a significant drop in household energy usage, even though during winter. The heatpump works perfectly as expected, quietly and consistently providing hot water. I’ve also tried using the Boost function a few times and it still draws less energy than the old system. We recently replaced our antiquated electric hot water system with the Haier 330L system. Our old system struggled to provide enough hot water for our large household, sometimes we had to resort to filling our bathtub from our kettle just to have a warm bath! Our water usage has decreased as we no longer need to run the tap as long to get hot water and our power bills have also decreased substantially. Show details
Quiet. All in one package. App connected. Suits my solar and battery setup. Sure I may get a gift card for this review, but it doesn't change my opinion. Show details
After quite a bit of research comparing different heat pump systems, capacities and running costs, we settled on the Haier 250L Monoblock Heat Pump to replace a 16-year-old solar hot water system in our three bedroom apartment in New Farm. The combination of energy efficiency and smart features appealed to us. Haier states that it can use up to… Read more
70% less electricity than traditional electric storage. So that beats the slightly cheaper but more expensive to run electric HWS models we looked at. As we are in an apartment building, it was also crucial that the unit runs quietly, which it does.
I particularly like the built-in Wi-Fi integration so I can remotely check up on things. Eco Mode allows us to schedule heating to make use of our solar PV generation, while Boost Mode provides faster recovery when there’s unusually high hot-water demand when we have guests.
Installation was completed today, so it’s early days, but the unit feels like a much more flexible and efficient replacement for the old rooftop solar hot water system. Very pleased with the choice so far.
Good initiative Water is hot. Waiting on my first bill to know energy efficiency Show details
Got this hot water unit installed recently after a family member recommended a heat pump unit, has been working wonderfully since. Keeps water perfectly warm in harsh Canberra winter and runs really efficiently, almost 1/6 the power usage of our old unit Show details
Replaced a gas instantaneous hot water system with a Haier 330L heat pump 1 month ago. No issues, and it has been supplying our household of 4 during the peak of Adelaide Winter without any trouble. We particularly like the app to control the system. The app could include more information and parameter settings would be our only feedback. Would recommend this unit. Show details

Jace from Adelaide Hills Hot Water did a great job of installing the Haier 250 heat pump. The heat pump itself is a great looking unit and easy to program. We have now had the unit for about a month and it is working beautifully. An excellent choice! Thanks very much, we are delighted! Pete Show details
Follow-up · In terms of follow up to my original review of the Haier HeatPump, we have been very pleased so far. It was installed in early August so we've had it for about a month and a half. It's a little early to ascertain running costs but as we move Ito the warmer weather I am anticipating that that running costs will be significantly reduced and the… Read more

Follow-up · We are so pleased with our Haier heat pump, it is not only economical, it is situated on our patio and noise from unit is barely noticeable.
I had my Haier Hot Water Heat Pump for a week now, replacing instances gas ones. As compared to gas, the water heats up faster. Also, I was able to control my heat pump using the Smart HQ app. I set it to Eco, which runs from 11am to 3pm. Got free electricity to power that at this time.
Follow-up · It's not really loud. Takes half day to install. Takes about 2kw per hour

Chose the Haier on the recommendation of the installer. Couldn't be happier. Modern and with a great external readout and the app makes it super easy to control.
We decided to replace our Gas Hot Water Service with a Heat Pump. After extensive research and Google Reviews we decided on Haier Monoblock Heat Pump which out performed all other units surveyed. Very keen on the energy efficiency that this unit offers and is now hooked to our Solar Panels and Solar battery system. Very happy.
So far I’ve been very impressed with this unit, the hot water is the perfect temperature and seems to be totally consistent no matter how cold it is outside. I’ve never had a complaint about the hot water running out after showers, I think we got the perfect size for our household. It’s such a beautiful unit and the computer panel is pretty… Read more
intuitive. Still discovering new things and enjoying having a lot more control than I’ve ever had with our old gas hot water system. I’m very impressed with the technology behind the electric heat pump system since reading about it and I have absolutely no regrets about changing from gas to electric.

Horrible user interface. You can do very little from the app, and setting the timer is a nightmare. I am a techhy person and it has taken me two weekends to get the timer working how I want it. The unit itself works well, is good value and is reasonably quiet, but big thumbs down for the UI.
I had my heat pump installed in August. I had an issue where the unit was making a lot of noise (would wake me up on the other side of the house) so I contacted the installer who sent Haier technicians around to fix. It took two attempts to get it fixed which took over a month to organise and they ended up sending a third party repair plumber.… Read more
There was a cover to a pipe which wasn't pushed in properly which apparently is a known issue. This has reduced the noise but the unit is not quiet. The real test will be in winter when it runs for a longer time. The heat pump heats water as intended and is very quick in summer. During winter it takes about five hours to heat the whole tank. I had an issue with running out of water in the first week but adjusted the temp of the unit higher which solved our problems. The app is extremely limited and slow, it's easier just to go outside rather than wait for it to connect. If you are looking for app functionality, this is not a good unit.
I'm pleased to say that the unit is now working very well. Very quiet and great that we can set timers to make use of low price tariff. However, this is our second unit as the first one did not work and had to be replaced. The compressor was running but the water was not being heated. Thank goodness for out plumber Jace of Adelaide Hills Hot Water… Read more
as he was key to us getting a replacement so quickly. There is also another star lost because of the Smart HQ app, which anything but smart! It continually shows the unit as being off line, sometimes for up to a whole day. Also, on more than one occasion has shown a different temperature than what is actually displayed on the unit itself which is very misleading., There is also a bug that means that if I turn on boost from the app it does not switch off in the app once the temperature has been reached which again is very misleading. It's also very frustrating that I cannot adjust the timers from the app but only on the unit itself. On another occasion the set temperature on the unit dropped from 65 to 60 and we have no idea why but it's only happened once

I've been extremely happy with the Haier 330L Heat Pump Hot Water System. has been how quiet it is. I was expecting more noise from the heat pump, but it's surprisingly unobtrusive and has never been an issue. The unit also feels well built, and the installation was straightforward.
The controls are simple to use, and I like having different operating modes to suit our household's needs. Since installing it, I've noticed a reduction in our energy usage, which was one of the main reasons for choosing a heat pump in the first place.
Overall, the Haier 330L offers excellent value for money. It combines reliable performance, good efficiency, and a generous storage capacity that easily handles the needs of a larger household. If you're looking to reduce electricity costs while still having dependable hot water every day, I'd happily recommend this system. It's been a worthwhile investment, and I wouldn't hesitate to choose the Haier again in the future.
I have had a very good experience with my Haier 250L mono block heat pump water heater. I set it to always run in the most efficient "ECO" mode every day between 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM which coincides with when my solar system is producing enough… Read more
power, even in winter, to run the heat pump for free. It ramps up over this time in order to recover from the hot water used in the evening and from morning showers. Running it during the day also means it doesn't make any noise at night. Which is good because I live in a unit so need to be considerate of noise concerns. There are other settings for the heat pump to turn on when an inverter tells the system that solar is producing, or using a controlled load circuit for cheaper overnight power tariffs, but for me just using the timer function works well. When using the timer function, make sure you make settings for both Monday to Friday (L1 and L2) and the weekends (L3 and L4). For my use case, approximately 110 - 130 Litres of hot water used in a day, I only need 1 X 4 hour heating period per day, so I don't need to set L2 and L4 which are for a second heating period in the same day. As an example of the unit's efficiency, on one cold winter day in Adelaide where it was 10 degrees when the heat pump started at 9:30 AM, and just 12 degrees by 1 PM, the system used about 1.8 KWh to increase the water temperature from 45 to 62 degrees and finished with 15 minutes to spare. It seems if the system is designed to run the heat pump as efficiently as possible within the set time rather than running flat out which would reduce the efficiency and increase electricity use. I have only ever used gas instantaneous systems, so moving to a storage system is new, but I am very impressed with such good efficiency on what was a cold day with low ambient temperature. I was expecting more like 2.5 KWh of electricity use, so less than 2 KWh is excellent given such a cold day, and all of this was provided by my solar panels, so I truly feel I am saving money while making a good use of solar resources and without burning a fossil fuel. Very strongly recommended!
Follow-up · I had the system installed in Winter. It is now Spring so I don't have any experience using the device in Summer. My expectation is as the weather warms up the system will run for less. Remember I have it set to run between 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM every day and it tends to finish heating by around 1 PM. The space it takes are basically the dimensions… Read more
