Impala Kitchen & Bathrooms

I found the process of getting my new kitchen through Impala to be quite efficient. The design phase was easier than expected given the tight constraints of my small space. The process and timings were clearly spelled out, and they accommodated getting my new flooring in during the process. With one exception the tradies turned up when scheduled and completed their work. I am very happy with my new kitchen.

Impala Kitchens did a full kitchen renovation for us. They were awesome from start to finish, Impala provide clear communication at every renovation step. Plan was executed on time, on budget with great new kitchen to our satisfaction.

In 2001 we installed a lovely Impala kitchen in our recently bought townhouse. It has retained its beautiful style and look for all this time until a door hinge on a corner cupboard recently needed replacing. pleased we were when not only was the hinge replaced at no cost, but the delightful Tracey arranged for a very skilled Anup to come and do the repair. It was a horrible night of rain and wind in Sydney but Anup, cool and capable, had the broken hinge replaced and the corner cupboard functioning as new in no time. After so many years we half expected resistance from Impala as they no longer had their office in Southern Sydney. But true to the high quality of their kitchens, the high quality of their service was most impressive and reassuring! Thank you Impala, Tracey and Anup!! Perfect from start to finish – I approached Impala a long time prior to our renovation as I really admired the kitchen designs in their Drummoyne showroom. The admin team including Jackie and Holly were always clear with where we were at, even during the tricky period of covid.

The quality of the kitchen, bookshelves, cabinetry in bathroom etc is beautiful. The draws are lined in oak rather than white, which gives everything a very sophisticated look and feel.

Most people that we dealt with at Impala have been working for the company for 20 years. That says a lot about the way they treat their employees. It is probably one of the reasons why they have done such a great job on a very large scale piece of work.

My Impala kitchen, which I love, is 10 years old and has just had it's first maintenance call. Tracey at Impala made it so easy. She was both very competent and lovely to deal with. The Maintenance man, Pierre, turned up on time to repair some damaged edges. Very professional and excellent quality workmanship. I am very happy to recommend.

About 12 months ago, we had wardrobes and joinery installed, and we absolutely love the result. Recently, we noticed that a desk drawer was not closing properly. Tracey responded straight away and arranged for Pierre to visit and resolve the issue. My wife and I were very impressed with the service provided by both Tracey and Pierre. everything for us, including the trades, installation and warranties, so we really didn’t have to worry about a thing. Their after-sales service is also exceptional. We had a minor issue after the installation, and it was resolved extremely quickly and professionally. The courtesy and helpfulness of every staff member we dealt with was first class. Impala Kitchens are fully licensed builders, and their attention to detail, organisation and customer service are second to none. Impala purports to have superior customer service and high quality workmanship but I have had terrible experiences with them. We purchased a house with a brand, new “luxury” Impala Kitchen and after settlement we identified a huge list of defects. Almost every drawer / cupboard had an issue of some sort. counting) to have these issues fixed. We were left for weeks with no doors or drawers while they were being fixed. Rectification required multiple follow-ups and chasing, and even when we had the installers booked in, there would be a no show. We have used joiners in the past and I would never use Impala Kitchens after this experience.

Beware - do not deliver kitchen per agreed date, poor quality trades, refuse to provide itemised bill – I made the mistake of signing up with IK thinking I would be dealing with a trustworthy and reputable company that would install my new small kitchen by the agreed date and for this I was prepared to pay somewhat of a premium. MISTAKE! 1.I signed the contract with IK on the 22/6/24 on the agreement that the kitchen delivery and installation would be completed ‘BY SEPTEMBER 2024’, come 24/11/24 the kitchen installation was still unfinished. 2. Charged for services of a 'project supervisor' as per IKs 'delivery letter', yet there was no such project supervisor. 3. I should have seen the red flag when I had asked at the time of signing for a breakdown of the work as per the signed contract form and was told they just give the overall contract price. When I saw the project unfolding so horribly, I pushed for an itemized bill. Multiple requests over a 6week period resulted in a list of services and fees charged but no details regarding labor charges and material charges. The bill included a charge of '$500' fee with explanation' Adjusted for inflation'. 4. Charged over $4K for demolishing old kitchen, plaster and tiling- when kitchen was already demolished and no tiling. IK has refused to return the funds. 5.I have been told by IK that their trades will turn up and when they haven’t, I have been the one to call IK to enquire rather than IK calling me as one would expect as part of a positive customer service experience. 6.I have had IK trades turn up when they weren't scheduled as well as receiving messages either the night before or on the actual morning that the IK trades were going to turn up onsite and therefore I have had to scramble to rearrange plans to accommodate the IK trades. 7.I have had IK trades return onsite up to and including four times due to the errors made either of their own accord or by different IK trades. 8.I have had my freshly painted kitchen wall damaged by IK trade and what was just as bad as the damaged wall itself is that he did not have the decency to tell me. Had I not raised the damaged wall with the IK trade, he would have just left the job without any care or accountability. 9.I have had to deal with having uncomfortable calls and emailing on multiple occasions to enquire about the status of the job or to notify of problems. I have spent so much time dealing with all the wrongs that I have been lucky not to lose my own job. 10.I have had to rearrange the schedule of renovation works within the rest of my house due to the delays with IK. This has been a massive inconvenience as it has thrown out completion of rooms and affected my overall move in date. 11. My rangehood was damaged on installation and it took 8weeks before a new rangehood was back in stock and the installer agreed to install. I can go on but I hope from the above that it may help inform your decision about whether or not to proceed with IK. The experience with IK has been anything but positive.

The project that keeps on going and going – After a wonderful design process and competitive quote for 9 rooms of joinery, we were optimistic and pleased with our choice of joinery supplier. don't have all the joinery - drawers missing, doors missing, lack of handles, etc. We've been told there have been supply issues, issues with being able to get staff and the slowest moving installers ever when they actually turn up on site. Impala don't care now as they've been paid so we are at the mercy of installers who have morning tea breaks 52 mins after starting work - yes, I have timed them :-(

Impala kitchens designed and installed both our new laundry and then our new kitchen the following year with stylish well made cabinets that have greater storage space and quality stone bench tops. Tracy was very helpful and promptly organised someone to return after the work was completed when we need any minor adjustments .

Impala were professional, worked with my accellerated timeline and delivered a quality product. Communication was clear and consistent with different trades making it easier for our family to organise our time. We would recommend Impala to anyone looking for custom joinery.

Great job! – We had to replace a water damaged large panel from our Impala Kitchen 16 years after installation. They did an amazing job matching the green iridescent colour and the same great quality. Tracey was great being our liaison in the office and John did a great job with the installation. issues. Only hiccup was obtaining a copy of Home Building Warranty Insurance Certificate to complete the paperwork, however this was eventually sorted out by Tracey in Head Office who was terrific. Was a pleasure to deal with and would definitely recommend.
