urgency of agreeing to replacing a hot water system that was still working. The guys that came out were lovely, on time and cleaned up after themselves but had to constantly contact the supervisor and that's where the hard sell comes from.
Asked them to change water tap and fixing some easy water leaking sink problem in regular business hours. Quote for almost $1500 not including any parts and using my own Taps. When you refuse to pay and then you will be charged $140 plus dispatch fee. Pre authorised when booking the appointment. Almost like a scam. Then called in another plumber, quoted for less than half the price. Avoid it.

We had Bailey and Henry come and check out hot water system. We were given three options for repair or replacement. We opted for replacement. We booked Irwin’s Plumbing for a pre‑arranged weekday appointment to investigate a leak in our home. When the plumber arrived, we were told the situation was an “emergency” requiring extensive and urgent works. The representative said we needed to sign the contract and get started immediately due to the emergency. We were quoted over $7,000, yet… Read more
have credit card charges totalling $8,822. The emergency crew that arrived was ONE junior plumber. We requested to pay by bank transfer but were told due to 'time of day' it needed to be credit card.
Unfortunately, the leak was not fixed, and additional damage was left to our kitchen cabinetry and tile seals. We have a significant hole in our kitchen cabinet, broken shelves, and damage to our kitchen tiles as a result of these works.
The next day, the leak continued and worsened. We contacted the company in writing to request a detailed breakdown of the charges and to raise concerns about the unresolved leak. We wanted to understand how we have paid what appears to be a junior plumber over $1k an hour to cause destruction in our kitchen, and not fix the leak. To date, no itemised breakdown has been provided. We subsequently requested a full refund due to the major failure of the service. To date, we have not received a refund.
Following our complaint, we experienced an unannounced visit at 6:50am, despite having requested written communication only. This was very concerning first thing in the morning. We have photo and video evidence of the ongoing leak, the damage left behind, and the early‑morning attendance.
For comparison, a licensed independent plumber attended, identified the cause, and repaired the issue in under an hour for $210. His invoice clearly outlines the work performed and details his concerns with the pricing and work completed by Irwin's.
This review reflects our personal experience, supported by documentation, and is shared to assist other consumers in making informed decisions. Had I wanted to demo my kitchen, I would have done it myself for free myself. Photos are of the mess they left under the sink baseboard, the damage to some of the tiles, and my cabinet that now has a large hole in it with the shelving broken and removed.

Follow-up · Re: My review. It was a burst pipe under the sink after me trying to replace the tap and install a water filter. The final bill was around $1300. It was a major repair. But "Elliot" did recommend the cheapest path for me. He suggested if I went to the hardware and changed to the appropriate tap, he could fit that for a few hundred dollars cheaper.… Read more

Follow-up · Truthfully? After getting two other quote- the initial $1200 to fix the job should have been $580. And the quote of 12k to rip up paving ( not needed) traffic management and fix roots in drains has just been quoted $990 for a sleeve and no ripping up if anything. 12k for 2.5m of pipe that would cost about $40 and the fact the supervisor… Read more

Efficient, rapid response, same day service. Options were explained clearly and repair completed promptly. However, quoted pricing was extremely high at over $700 to replace inlet valve in a toilet cistern. We will not use again due to excessive cost for service.

$3700. It is unbelieveable and disrespectful. When I declined the quote, [Name Removed] put his manager on the phone and tried to pressure for a sale at $2400. I declined this as well. The call out fee was $140, I was happy to pay it to send them on their way.
When asked why the quote was so high, the office based customer service rep said that they work on a fixed price servicing model, and that may not benefit all people, especially those with low amounts of work. I believe if they use a fixed price model, then I don't see the need for them to come out and quote as it is not customised to the work you actually require. The quote contained the full replacement of 4 mixers and replacement of the external tap. Odd, considering I supplied the tap wear and washer replacement. The work should be between $200-400 and take beween 1-2 hours.
[Name Removed], who responded after my initial review was professional, compassionate, and reasonable, offered a refund of the call out fee. I have declined that offer because it was conditional that I cease writing reviews and consider the matter resolved. I don't consider this resolved at all. Please check the 5-star reviews as most of them are by users with only one review.

Charge $129 for a quote, even for a simple job, and only refunded if you go ahead. This is criminal behaviour, and incentives them to charge whatever they like, knowing are you trapped. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Website lies about "free quotes". That is a lie. It isn't free if you are FORCED to accept it and no choice in the matter!
