Same day service which I am so grateful for. Logan was fabulous. Found the problem which was a tempering valve, went and got a part and fixed it all within a few hours. He was so easy to deal with, lovely guy.

Job number 58467 was a challenging water leakage under the house which does not have underground access. Reactive were very responsive in locating and repairing the leak. Quite a few plumbers worked here and all were professional and communicative. Also appreciated how clean the area was when completed. situation made worse. Afterwards water was leaking all over the cabinet because the plumber, I mean salesman, didn’t reconnect the pipes correctly. They used MY TOWELS to clean up!!! Yes they asked for towels to do THEIR job!!!! I had to throw the towels out afterwards. As such was left in a worse state than before with flooded kitchen and now I am suffering. There was previously no leak but the salesman plumber created one and left filth and grime on the floor. Not only will they try to scam you into a monthly subscription but they will constantly tell you that the price should be more but you are getting it for the cheap quoted price. Two of their plumbers (salesmen) read off this same script to me. $4000 to replace a toilet with nothing wrong with it and $12,000 to actually fix the blocked drain. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS! Especially if you are a pensioner and they scam you into a monthly subscription for nothing. They will pretend to be an owner operator and leave a note in your letterbox saying they are in your area but they are just a sales scam!

Warning: deceptive business practices and exorbitant $880/hr fees!

I had a blocked sewer drain and they organised to come out a few days later in business hours. They have a part on their website that states: "We charge by the job, not the hour, helping you to make an informed choice by knowing the full pricing of any work before we begin.… Read more

Plus, no matter how long the job ends up taking you still only pay the quoted price, helping you save."

The plumber came out, took a look and said he would try to plunge it which works in 5% of cases which is $150, if that fails, they will use the hydro jet which works in the other 95% of cases. He quoted $880 which is a lot but he assured me he would get it sorted. I reluctantly went ahead assuming they would be true to their word and get the job done. He worked for 1.5 hours or so and said unfortunately the drain was still blocked and I'd need to pay another $880/hr for extra hydro jetting and they might have to potentially send a root cutter down. Also, that if anything got stuck they would want to retrieve their equipment and that either I could dig it up (if I wanted to save) or they could dig it up (assuming they would charge me for this also).

I found this to be deceptive / unethical and left me feeling extremely uneasy - I declined any additional work due to the cost and told him that other companies usually charge $150/hr for any additional work after the first hour. He told me that once they got on site they would definitely charge more and justified the cost to the quality of their workmanship and experience which is what you’re paying for.

I hired another company the next day, they sent 3 guys out and it was $300 for the initial hydro jetting hour and $150/hr after that. They managed to sort it all out under 2 hours and when I told them the story they couldn’t believe it. Especially how they were going to charge me $880/hr and potentially charge to recover their equipment with no guarantee or accountability. He said it was a tricky job but needed someone with the right experience that had the right jetting heads. He doubted the guy from Reactive would have been able to sort it out given what I explained and his choice of equipment.

I know its hard to quote on any job, but if they had been upfront and said we’re charging hourly for this and its $880/hr - this could be done in an hour but might take 2 or 3 or 4 depending on what we find, then you clearly wouldn’t go with them. I don’t know any professional or trade that charges anywhere near this.

I reached out to them to discuss it and they said they were sorry I felt that way and that a manager would be in touch but I haven’t heard anything. The thing is, this isn’t a feeling - it’s a fact. They are severely overcharging. I looked it up online after and it says $880/hr isn't fair or reasonable even for emergency rates (which this wasn’t) and is 5-10x the Aus average plumbing price. I then dove into their reviews and it’s clear that other people have been bitten by them - even a veteran who’s paying off his bill in instalments.

I would avoid them at all costs and run with a company that lists their prices upfront so you know what you’re paying.
