arrived, I was told they couldn’t complete the repair because the scratch was larger than what they were able to repair under their policy. There was also a dent, and the repairer said that this was not a job they handled and that someone else would need to do it.

I contacted Schmick again and was told that the third-party repairer should have contacted me and that I should call them directly. It has now been 15 days, and I still haven’t heard anything.

I’ve spent money on this insurance expecting the claims process to be handled professionally, but the delays, lack of communication, and constant back-and-forth have been incredibly frustrating.

What a waste of time and money. I expected much better service and support when making a claim.

Jake was excellent. We met on time and he inspected the scratches and stone chips, explained what he would do and time he would be finished. He texted me when he was almost finished which made our timing for car pick up easy. He then showed me all the work he had done which was excellent. Great service and can highly recommend.

I organised for a deep scratch on my driver’s door to be fixed. I communicated through text for date & time. I left my car in the carport & received punctual communication when the car was fixed. I was able to complete payment electronically. Great job!!

We were sold this as a no hassle policy, only find out there were so many conditions (see below, as these restrictions probably rule out 95% of Melbourne if not more!). their critrea. They then told us they could use our small driveway and they could do all everything, but repair the matte grey paint scratches. This is a clear case of mis-selling of insurance. We would never have taken this out, if they had told us the restrictions upfront and the fact that they don't do matte paint repairs. It was also a huge hassle to cancel this and they then had the audacity to ask us to pay for the welcome pack they sent to us (most of which is to polish a shiny car). We told them to come pick it up, as even if we could use it, we wouldn't!

A call out to repair scratched alloy wheel and a minor scratch on side panel was fixed by Jimi professionally. A very friendly technician, (Jimi) and absolutely no complaints about a thing at all, hence highly recommend Schmick membership. appreciated that! Great customer service indeed! So the whole job cost us $50 only which is a bargain! For whose reviewers complaining about the repair claims that are not covered/declined under Schmick membership, may need to consider how the membership was sold to them by car dealership consultants to ensure the membership was not over sold to them first place as Schmick is only for minor/cosmetic repairs that would still save you money and time by having Schmick in the long run. We’ve had Schmick memberships for years in different states and never ever had any issues with getting cosmetic damages fixed professionally that has literally saved us thousands of dollars over the years! Especially from cosmetic damage repairs to the alloy wheels we all know about!

attended were always punctual, well presented, polite, and clearly skilled in their work.

Over the last two years, however, it does feel like the policy has become stricter, with more limitations on what is covered and additional rules now in place. While I understand policies evolve, the change has been noticeable compared to when I first signed up.

That said, the technicians themselves continue to be outstanding, recently had Anthony fix my scratched rims; he was professional, courteous, and reliable when attending bookings. My only area for improvement would be communication from customer care. On my most recent enquiry, it took a few weeks to receive a response. A little more timely communication and updates would make the overall experience much better.

Overall, still a professional service with excellent technicians, but clearer communication and more consistency with earlier coverage would really enhance member satisfaction.

I attended on 12/7/2026 and I was served by Corey. I accidentally put a $1 coin in without reading the signage, and didn't have another coin. I asked the attendant, Corey, to remove the coin however, it looked like the keyhole in the machine was bunged up. In reality, although the product evens out to a bit more than $200 a year, the policies and customer support for the repair requests are so terrible and avoidant that nothing is worth that much. like they don't know you. They will not honour multiple issues and they do not have a fixed location. If you're anything rural/out of the CBD, you will not be heard by their team.

I have had Schmick out twice to repair my car, they are reliable, professional, the staff on both occassions were polite and so easy to deal with and I can't find any fault with the repair of my car. Extremely Happy Customer

Manuel did a great job on fixing my car for three spots making. He is flexible and generous to fix a crack that is potentially not covered by the policy. He is on time, did great job and clean up everything. Very happy with the sercive

To say this is a poor service would be high praise for this company. Failure to turn up for appointments, last minute rescheduling poor communication. Don't use this company.
