I went into Skin Kandy this afternoon with my two young daughters. One needing just one lobe piercing and the other two lobes. The girl there was randomly pulling prices out of nowhere. I followed the aftercare instructions exactly as advised, cleaning morning and night with the recommended NeilMed spray. I’ve gone through three bottles at this point with little improvement. I’ve since switched to cleaning with sea salt in boiled water and am only just starting to see some improvement.
I was told to return to the store to have my ears inspected. After spending an hour travelling there, the employee I spoke with seemed completely disinterested, barely looked at my ears, and simply said “they look fine,” despite there visibly being pus coming from the piercings.
On top of this, it was not clearly advertised that nickel-free jewellery comes at an additional cost on top of the piercing price, which I found misleading.
Had I known all of this beforehand, I would have chosen to pierce my ears with a gun, as I had no issues with my first lobes. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

It’s been 4 months since my piercing and an approx 2 months since I got the barbell replaced and I added black ends to the barbell. I got the store to replace these and they are still going strong if You follow the store instructions, Always keeping the area clean, moving the bar so it doesn’t stick to the skin nipple, I still use the stores Piercing After Care mist. a doctor; whoever there wasn’t any pus; any infection; not swollen; was “fine” just the piercing healed inside my skin! But when I saw the face staff did was unbelievable in a sense that they are not quote fed and prepared at all I felt! This was in the Chatswood store! So had a look online for a proper professional piercer and she took in 1 minute my embedded piercing with no issues at all! Definitely do not recommend Skin Candy! Unprofessional staff and price is the same as a professional piercer! I would not risk with them!

I thought they should offer some sort of discount or refund me in some way as I just lost AUD:90 dollars plus 30 as I had to find a professional piercer to remove the embedded one!
