I studied cert IV in biz operations (my first time studying online whilst working full-time) and found the whole course very comprehensive & complete, very relatable and easy to follow. The entire subject to study with was very modern and relatable. I liked the step by step assessments to full fill the bigger task at the end of each subject… Read more

including all real-life negative (what-to-do- if scenarios) and found them helpful. My program coordinator and main contact Sarah Marshall was really professional with quick and thorough answers if I had a question and clear instructions with her walk through videos at the beginning of more complex units. Even if she was not available someone else would answer my question. All up I would recommend Upskilled if anyone wants to take on online studies.

I did the counselling diploma and it was great being all online and gave time to do it. But it's the supervisor Ronnie is really so calm and patient with me. He is supportive and kind. Main thing with counselling is practicing and getting to practice with him is great. Also good is that there is a phone line to call to speak to a real person for… Read more

help with things.

The assessments make you redo forms and procedures which I know is part of paperwork and legal requirements but that is very repetitive and boring and need to have forms in all formats would also be good. They do need two like full simple documents maybe for those of us who need simple things on the most important bits on how to use online things. Also clearer on with submissions if like several of the forms all in one so not so many Indvidual things to submit, (Also, compatibility across differing file types). I did learn a lot!

Weekly meetings were exactly what I didn’t expect I needed – Upskilled as an RTO was good. I found their learning material and assessment material jumped around a bit between old and new layouts. I also found that the topics didn’t necessarily “flow” into one another and they could have been done in any order. I will say that I was super impressed with the my main point of contact Sarah Marshall. She… Read more ·  1

escalated issues for me about the learning platform and answered all questions I had in a very quick manner. If not for Sarah and her offer to meet fortnightly to keep my accountable, I would say that this isn’t something I would have finished. Thanks Sarah for your help and support in completing this Diploma.

An excellent platform for increasing your skills and career opportunities – I recently completed the Certification III course with UpSkill. The course assessments were quite lengthy, but Gideon was very helpful throughout the course completion. Throughout the course, he explained everything clearly and in a fun way, which made learning fun and enjoyable. Show reply

Completing the Diploma in Counselling has been a vision finished. I developed confidence and gained skills benefiting my whole sense of self. My teacher was insightful and encouraging the entire way through. I can look forward to seeing the world through a counsellor's eyes and respond accordingly. Thank you Upskilled

Follow-up  · I have since received my Diploma in Counselling. It was well worth the effort to complete. Practical skills were developing a sense of purpose including theoretical approaches learnt throughout the course. trainer, Rosan, who was always responsive, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive throughout my studies. His guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback helped me stay motivated and successfully complete the course. The Student Support team was also excellent—friendly, professional, and always quick to assist whenever I needed help.

I highly recommend Upskilled to anyone looking to study online. The support from both the trainers and Student Support made all the difference in my learning journey.

significant value to my knowledge. It is building my confidence, and I believe it is truly worth the investment. I would like to acknowledge my Program Coordinator, Rosan, who has been very supportive and encouraging. His guidance has motivated me to stay focused on my learning and work towards my goals. I also want to mention Cassi from the Admission Team, who has been an absolute delight to deal with. Her professional manner, positive communication, and the way she encouraged me made a big difference to my overall experience. This course has greatly empowered me by enhancing my confidence and expanding my knowledge in community services. I am developing stronger skills in case management, communication, and client engagement, which I believe will be valuable in real-world practice. My goal is to complete this course successfully and begin my career in the community sector, where I can make a meaningful contribution.

I'm doing my Cert III on Individual Support. The Upskilled team is just amazing. I faced some challenges getting a place for my Work Placement,… Read more

but Erica was there for me every step of the way. I felt, and I still feel so comfortable when I'm talking to Erica. She gives all her time to help you. At one point I felt like I was pushing her too much and probably nagging her when I really wanted my Work Placement to go through. But to my surprise she never minded. She was always cheerful and willing to help whenever I called her. With Upskilled, I feel that If I go out there I'll be marketable because they don't leave you half baked. At first I was so annoyed with a lot of role plays, I don't want to lie. But later on I discovered that it was for my own good. They will be doing there best to make sure that we have enough knowledge for us to fit in the industry

able to successfully complete this diploma and I could never thank them both enough for their efforts. I enrolled in this diploma whilst employed by child protection in Victoria working as a case practice support worker in the case support (contact and transport) team and determined to progress further into this career. I chose upskilled as I worked fulltime, have 3 young children and have a diagnosis of ADHD, where Upskilled allowed a flexible, supported and self-paced option to complete these studies. During the duration of my enrolment, I worked closely with Rosan to identify options for some units to be completed by RPL (recognition of prior learning) taking into consideration my current role and what I am already achieving daily. I was also fortunate to apply for a credit transfer for 3 units from my previous childcare qualifications (which I must say was a significantly easy process) RPL consisted of a very easy to follow RPL kit including a theory evidence document, evidence of this competency within the workplace and a verbal assessment conducted with Rosan. Rosan was absolutely amazing through the RPL process, ensuring competency was evident in a thorough and consistent manner. As I commenced the RPL units identified, my career in child protection rapidly took off and I had been allocated into the investigations and assessment team from this I qualified to complete further units under RPL. Whilst in this team there was a demand for further progression and pressure was set in for my studies to be completed. I consulted this with Rosan and Erica, where nothing was too hard, too much or too complicated for them to support me through this. Their communication was beyond what you could expect and both Rosan and Erica always ensured I was on track and had everything together and finalised. Rosan willingly with not stress adapted to my work arrangements and demands (which meant a lot of rescheduling from my behalf) however ensured he always had an hour time block spare to reschedule and complete verbal assessments in a time efficient manner. Towards the end of my completion which was around the easter period, Rosan and Erica were patient, encouraging and provided outstanding support to finalise all units and ensure units were successfully completed in time for my career progression which had resulted in a promotion that I was very excited to share with them. I will always recommend Upskilled to anyone seeking to study, and have already encouraged many co-workers to further their careers through Upskilled in which I have successfully supported 3 co-workers to join Upskilled one transferring from another education company.

and consistently encouraging. This support kept me motivated and helped build a strong sense of achievement throughout the course. The program was flexible and well-structured, allowing me to balance my learning while staying engaged. As much of my learning was recognised through prior experience, the course has been valuable in formalising my existing skills and providing a recognised qualification that reflects my experience in the workplace. Overall, I feel more confident, capable, and validated in the skills I bring to my role. Stepping back into learning was a big decision for me. As a mum of four, a grandmother of seven, a full-time carer for my elderly mum, and working full-time, I was both nervous and determined to see this through. I am truly grateful for Rosan’s support, patience, and guidance, which helped me build confidence and stay on track throughout the course.

I enrolled in this course genuinely motivated to learn and to start working in aged care and disability support. Unfortunately, my experience has been frustrating and disappointing. The course is not designed around practical learning. Instead, it feels focused on assessing how well students can rewrite or reproduce the provided theory. Each unit… Read more

includes several quizzes with 20+ questions, many with multiple sub-questions, and most requiring written responses of around 200 words. This quickly becomes overwhelming and repetitive.

Rather than building understanding or confidence, I found myself repeatedly rewording the same content already included in the learning materials, which themselves appear to be AI-generated. It feels more like administrative effort than meaningful learning.

The number of role-play assessments is another challenge. While role plays are valuable in principle, the way they are implemented is impractical. They require organising volunteers, preparing scripts in advance to ensure all criteria are covered, recording the sessions, and often re-recording if something is missed. For students who are not tech-savvy, this is a significant barrier. Even being comfortable with technology, I found coordinating scripts, people, time, and recording to be unnecessarily stressful and slow.

The most valuable learning I experienced came from my work placement. Being on-site, observing experienced staff, interacting with residents, and learning by doing was far more effective than the online modules and written assessments.

My goal was simple: to complete the qualification and start working to help and care for others. Instead, I found myself focused on how to finish the course as quickly as possible, concerned about time limits and additional fees if I don’t complete it within the contracted period.

When I raised these concerns, I was told the structure is driven by government regulations. That may be the case, but the issue is the delivery format. The course feels over-automated and disconnected from how people realistically learn and develop competence in care roles.

Recommendation: The format needs review. Student feedback, real completion patterns, and practical learning outcomes should be taken into account. Most importantly, the course should better support students to move into the workforce efficiently, especially in a sector where carers are urgently needed.

I also really like how easy the course material is to access and understand. The units flow really well into each other, which makes it much easier to stay on track and build your knowledge as you go.
