Xe Money Transfer

I set up money transfer last week with XE and my account manager was Toby. The XE offer was $320 higher than the competitor WISE. I told Toby that I was happy to go with XE as I have been their customer for six years. When I tried to transfer the full contract amount to XE, my Bank did not approve to increase my daily transfer limit. I asked… Read more
Toby if he could cancel the contract and I would transfer money in smaller parcels (contracts), up to my bank account limit, over the next few days to reach the full contract amount. Toby refused and said that there would be penalty charge to cancel the contract, despite I would still send the same total contract amount. I expressed my disappointment, but Toby made a comment that "You have been sending money through XE for a few years, you should be aware of the penalty charge." His comment was lack of empathy and not appropriate. So I kept sending money over the next few days to reach the full contract amount. In the past, XE would email me and acknowledge the full amount was received. XE did not send me any email this time. So I logged in to my account and noticed further action was required from me. However, the XE app did not specify what action was required. So I called Toby and he told me that I needed to upload my bank statement, which I did immediately. Six hours later, Toby sent me an email that I needed to upload my bank statement of the last 3 months transactions. I told Toby that why he didn't tell me this requirement. I uploaded the revised Bank statement straight away and called Toby if the document fulfilled XE requirements. Toby said the document was good to go and should catch the next run (of sending out the money) in 6 minutes. Toby promised to call me later to update the progress. I waited 20 minutes and not hearing from Toby, status of my money transfer remained no change. I called Toby and he changed his story that my money transfer was under review by the compliance team. At the end of that call, he told me not to call him again as XE would inform me the progress by email. The next morning, status of my money transfer remained "in progress". I called XE Help Centre instead of Toby. The person who took my call was much more helpful and courteous, giving me the reason of my money transfer being put on hold. I email XE giving them more information and XE finally sent my money to my designated recipient. That was after the full amount had been paid to XE more than 24 hours ago. I have not received any email from XE that they have sent my money! My latest experience with XE was terrible. Toby's attitude was appalling, and not trustworthy. In the past, XE kept me well informed by email every step of the money transfer, from setting up the contract, money being received and money being sent to the recipient. XE failed poorly in this transaction, especially not letting me why my money transfer was stalled and required more information. I have to keep chasing and making multiple calls to XE to clear the questions why money transfer was on hold.
The platform XE use is an abject failure. Following an email from XE to confirm money from my lawyer had been deposited to XE's bank account in New Zealand, I was unable to find any record of this transaction in XE's app. To transfer the funds to Australia I had to call and was then led through the process to complete instructions (hidden away) to… Read more
transfer the funds to my nominated bank account. I was told "all good, you don't need to take any further action" BUT a following email advised I needed to pay the funds to XE...?!#*. So another phone call whereupon XE internally and manually their system to reflect the funds had in fact been deposited and then 'released' the funds. In the meantime their system remains a disfunctional mess - unbelievable that I could not see the balance in my account to begin with, and received misinformation regarding the status of the transfer resulting in a second step to have funds released.
Appalling experience, cancelled my transfer 5 days after it was initiated, leaving me $800 out of pocket due to a freight deadline payment - I have never had to wait so long only to be informed 5 days later that the transaction would not be processed. I have worked in Logistics for years and have never experienced such poor service from the money… Read more
transfer sector, they then have the audacity to say that my refund could take up to 10 days and incur incur a fee from them, disgusting, immoral finaciers. use xe if you want unwanted stress and lose money for weeks – Terrible experience money lost for one week after endless chasing got money after 8 days
- +1
DISAPPOINTMENT – I don’t know how come this service has good rating. I do not recommend. I sent money to a friend in Japan on May 1st because the exchange was good. Apparently there are different exchanges depending on how you’re willing to pay. I’d like my friend to receive it earlier so I had to pay for service. When I paid it says she will expect 113,074 so I… Read more
believed since I already paid for service that she will receive exactly as that. Anyway, she received it after 8 days. Ok whatever but when she checked, she only received 109,074. I reported it since there’s quite a difference but the again just said they didn’t know ahead of time if maybe her bank will charge her and so the representative said ask for the documents from the bank. In my inconvenience for the service that I paid for? That’s ridiculous. I took a picture of all the claims. Its ridiculous. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.
Utterly appauling service. Transferred money 5 months ago, gone! – So XE keep giving me the run around saying they are working with the remote bank to find where the funds are. Thats the same answer they give every time I contact them. Its now been 5 or more months since they lost my money. I will never use XE again. I will always recommend people do NOT use Xe because not only is their customer service abmissal, they can't do what they promise - transfer money.
Avoid ! Avoid ! – If I could give zero stars, I would not advise anyone to deal with this company! I sent the money through my own account to the account of thier company. A few days later, I reached the cancellation of the transaction without any reason, and that was via e-mail. Until this moment, I did not receive the money that was sent. It's been almost two… Read more
weeks now. Every time I call the company for explanation to no avail! This is the last deal with this disgusting and fraudulent company.
Xe Not a great first experience – Update Jan. 24, My first experience with Xe: I opened up (Dec 30, 2022) and verified my Xe account without any issues then proceeded to wire money from my account in one country to another personal account in another country. Xe verified my money got to them (Jan 10) (transfer accepted Jan 11) but then they didn't complete the transfer (see email… Read more
below). Instead, they canceled the transfer, closed my account, and said they would return my money (no explanations). Eventually (today Jan 24), I did get the money returned but there is still no explanation for why they didn't complete the transfer as I requested.
Email from Xe Jan 12: "Dear Albert, Thank you for choosing Xe. Unfortunately, we're unable to assist you further and your account, XEMT-x-x-x-x-81, will remain closed. We apologize for any inconvenience. For more information, please view our Help Center at help.xe.com. Thank you, Kind regards, The Xe Team help.xe.com"
After the above email, I got an email (Jan 19) asking me to do a short survey as to why I canceled the transfer and how could they improve our experience. Actually, I didn't cancel the transfer, Xe did. I have been able to talk to someone but they can not give me any information as to why my transfer was canceled and/or why my account has been closed.
According to their help page "If your account has been closed and you didn't request this action, the decision was taken by the business and, unfortunately, we're not able to provide any further information about the reason for the closure."
Not sure if Xe is our best option right now. We do know someone who has transferred large sums of money through them so not sure what happened in our case. Did we do something wrong? Did our account fall into the hands of someone who didn't know what they were doing? An explanation would be helpful in moving forward. I'm still hoping someone will assist us with this. Until that happens I really can't go much higher than a 2-star. I am thankful they did come through on returning my funds. But why is my account closed? Why did they cancel my transfer? All this still remains a mystery.

I highly recommend this business. Charles Graham, (Account Manager)at XE was a great person to deal with throughout my entire large and small transaction process. From step A, he was helpful, professional, and always available to guide me through each stage. He was very easy to talk to, clearly knowledgeable, and took the time to understand… Read more
exactly what I needed. I truly appreciated his support and would highly recommend working with him and dedicated team of professionals
Quick and easy. Good rates – Sending AUD to NZD personal to personal. No problem since joining. Sometimes less than 12 hr transfers.
Don't believe the bad reviews - I thought XE were excellent – I transferred a 6 figure amount from the UK to Aus recently. It was seamless. I got good advice from the chat help guy who was a real person and I got several calls from someone in Australia with advice and management on the process. I got a better deal on the rate than I got with my bank and the process was easy. I will do it again
Negative reviews

Third time I tried to transfer money they came back and said money was not from my account. Wasted my time so I cancelled the transfer, no brains between the lot of them!!
Follow-up · Finally resolved after multiple days and about 20 emails, in the end I guess that’s life.
No guarantee that the money will be credited to the beneficiary's account. They will return the funds to the original account, but it may take 2-4 days for the refund to process. Customer service is unhelpful.

Have been using xe for years and have always had a smooth process, however things have changed, I felt like some sort of criminal trying to send money from my own account to a real estate agents account, despite me sending to the same account just one year ago. instead of taking less than 48 hours to arrive in his bank, the process took 2… Read more
weeks, many phone calls and emails to them, and was extremely frustrating. They say it is for “safety” and that I don’t send money to a “scammer”, despite me saying I’ve used the same agent for 25 years it didn’t matter, they made me jump through a ridiculous amount of hoops. Even when I tried to split up the money to under $40,000, I was accused of trying to “dodge their system”. Won’t be using again, have already applied for the wise card.
If I could rate it a minus star. I would; they don't deserve one star PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM they will find some excuses that due to security some large transfers could not be made. They received the transfer within minutes but to return they are still holding the funds. You call them and it's useless they only apologise and say they will… Read more
investigate. No process on place just delaying the truth.
Emails more than 20 and all with the same excuse that it would. Takes up to 4 days for the returns and they have no control, keep blaming the bank and third parties.
So if you want to keep your money safe DO NOT USE THEM
Opened account due to holiday in botwana. Some accommodation only expects cash or bank transfers. Tried to transfer $353 for accommodation. First attempt come up failed. So tried again. Got a message saying processing. Next minute get an email telling me my account has been closed by XE ( and they can't give me a reason) . Now i have $706 tied up with them. That will be refunded in 7 days (hopefully). Try and avoid if possible Show details
Compliance investigation into their liability in transferring foreign transactions. Second time investigated in a short time period for transferring funds to an auction house in the UK. Funds are delayed while investigations are carried out and as a customer you…yes you…. have to provide evidence and NOT the compliance team. I work in compliance.… Read more
That is incorrect. Compliance needs to do the investigation AFTER the transaction and not during the transaction. The transaction was for 45 pounds for shipping of a print from the UK to Australia. Highly criminal incident and dangerous! (Sarcasm here) Explained to Xe Customer Care and provided evidence. Xe delayed payment for another 24 hours. Contacted customer care in the Phillipines . Cannot help. Asked to speak to the supervisor. Cannot get hold of her supervisor. Advised a supervisor will get back to you. That was six hours ago and still waiting……….. Customer care: zero points. Ability to carry a simple compliance issue or check: zero points.
This is the worst money transfer company, other companes do it with the same business day. It takes 3 days! after the funds are paid into their account! Seriously not recommended, poor pace outdated efficiency. Do not use this company if you want a prompt transfer of your funds.
Hi All, potential customers, and existing customers. I had to rate them as 1 Star , but in my opinion they do not deserve even that. May be 0.5 I have been using XE for many years, to send money for a family member once or twice a year. Its never been a breeze, but this current experience is definitely outstanding and maybe this is my last… Read more
one. First of all now they are charging for the transaction for pushing one or two buttons on a keyboard, whilst they making most likely good returns using our money. However, what I find really, really annoying their Help Center which is useless. I have transferred the money as per their instruction last week Wednesday and they still have not received it yet. Very interesting! In the age of the computers it should and it does happen instantaneously, but as I've said earlier i suspect that they using our money and they send it to the recipient a few days to a week later. They may have a large pool of funds 500K - 1M at any given time just imagine how much can you make on the stock exchange with that sort of cash. Now back to the XE Gost Help Center! I have tried to call the number an AI voice is on the line that says their help centre is open 24 hours a day, but this office is closed. No Email address, or Chat option. No way to report a complaint. Terrible service, I will definitely look for an alternative. I don't really understand why cant we send money to an overseas bank direct without these bad operators in the middle? I will look into this see if there is a better way.
Thank you for reading my notes. Have a nice day.
Terrible experience, booked a call as was moving quite a bit if money. No call was done, they said it's because it's a holiday, rebooked and yet again no call. Said they called another number(not true as no missed calls)When I emailed again,I got completely fobbed off. Told to click a link

Did Send money form.europe to Senegal Afrika. I',m retired for many years. They take the money from my bank. After one day a email : They block my account for security and send my money back after 10 days. The first no reason, the second why to " steel my money for 10 days?
really terrible service , asked for confirmation of who i am, first time I have ever been asked, and then cancelled my transfer because it took 24 hours to send my change of name certificate There are other platforms that are quicker and easier and for a few extra dollars this platform is not worth it, no follow up and then I had to re book my transfer while they hold my funds and make interest on it Show details
Hi Everyone, please stay away from Xe money Transfer, They provide good rates but if any problem occurs they dont deal quickly. I sent multiple emails and phone calls but they didnt do anything and everytime same exuse that Investigation is going on and they dont have any clue where is my money sitting, after 34 days they were able to trace the payment and they returned the money in my bank account. It was horrible experience with them, I was mentally disturbed and stressed during that period
XE. Do not use them. They make it Really easy to set with the new app, but once you are have paid. They withhold your money, (4 day) then send an email requiring PRIVATE information from you, and will not release until they have it. There's no contact upper management to solve any problems, they all hide behind poor lady's under complaints department. DO NOT USE THEM. Show details
Xe operates like a money grabber – Xe operates like a money grabber, akin to a robber—despite receiving funds, they falsely claim otherwise, causing unnecessary delays in transfers. This makes them an untrustworthy company, much like Stripe. These are not Fintech companies; they are Fraudtech.
Saved myself just in time – Honestly, take the hit and transfer with your bank.Don't trust your money with these clowns,it's not worth losing everything you have.Arrogant kiwi staff that talk and don't listen and quite openly tell you that you are not their only customer.Avoid at all costs, trust me.
Works only one way – I had used XE before for transferring amounts from Australia into Europe. Worked fine, no issues. Sending money the other way proved to be a bit of a nightmare. If XE truly wanted to be a global company and grow their customer base, I would have thought they needed to open more bank accounts in more countries, although I suspect this could become a logistical nightmare to manage. As it currently stands, it's not really the solution I was hoping it would be.
A big dissapointment.
Into darkness – Be very careful with these people. I used the app to send money from the US to Turkey. They withdrawn the money then closed my account.
