quality of the workmanship. The installation was carried out by subcontractors rather than in-house installers, and the finish was well below the standard I expected from a company with Andersens’ reputation. There were numerous workmanship issues throughout the installation, particularly on the stairs, including poor joins, visible gaps, misaligned stair nosings, rough finishing, and untidy painting. Even Andersens eventually acknowledged several major defects and agreed that parts of the installation needed to be replaced.

I was originally advised the installation would take around 3 working days, but the entire process ended up taking 6 days, including rectification. This caused unnecessary disruption and delayed our move-in plans.

What disappointed me further was the rectification process. The owner and another staff member attended the inspection and appeared quite defensive, repeatedly telling me that the work was “good” or within an acceptable standard. However, after inspecting the defects themselves, they acknowledged several major workmanship issues and agreed to replace those sections. At the same time, they maintained that many of the remaining minor defects were acceptable and did not require further attention. While the major defects were rectified, a number of the minor workmanship issues that I raised were left unresolved because Andersens considered them to be within an acceptable standard. As a customer paying for a premium installation, I simply expected a higher level of finish.

To make matters worse, despite acknowledging the quality issues, Andersens still sent the same subcontractor back to carry out the rectification. After seeing the original workmanship, I had expected someone with more experience or a different installer to complete the repairs. Using the same contractor again significantly reduced my confidence that the problems would be properly resolved.

During the installation, the subcontractor also mentioned that they do not do much work for Andersens anymore and that this job was mainly because they were able to install the stairs. I have no way of verifying the reason behind that, so I won’t speculate whether it was related to workmanship or something else. However, after seeing the quality of the installation, it certainly left me wondering.

Another disappointing aspect was the lack of customer service after the problems were identified. At no point did Andersens Ipswich apologise for the poor workmanship or the inconvenience caused. There was also very little proactive communication. Throughout the process, I was the one who had to repeatedly contact Andersens to follow up on defects, rectification, and progress updates.

What surprised me most was that, while rectification work was still ongoing, Andersens requested the remaining payment. I had already paid a 50% deposit upfront, and my understanding was that the balance would be paid once the defects had been addressed. I have now paid the account in full, but that should not be taken as an indication that I was highly satisfied with the workmanship. I made the final payment because the major defects that I had raised were eventually rectified, even though some of the minor workmanship issues remain unresolved.

I chose Andersens because I expected professional workmanship, proper quality control, and accountability. Instead, I spent weeks inspecting defects, documenting issues, arranging inspections, and chasing updates for problems that should never have occurred in the first place.

As a result, we have decided to engage another flooring contractor, at our own expense, to rectify the remaining issues. It is extremely disappointing that after paying a premium price for professional installation, we still need to hire someone else to achieve the level of finish we expected from the beginning.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Andersens Ipswich. If you’re considering them, I strongly recommend asking who will actually carry out the installation, whether they are employees or subcontractors, and what quality control process is in place before the job is signed off.

crumbling, they came and had a look and agreed that a section had to be redone. They sent a quotation to do the work when I said I thought it would be under warranty the said that the structure had moved, and was not covered. The person who had been to inspect it had said that it should have been a flexible joint not standard grout that they used.

within weeks Ive had boards that have warped, discovered a misprint on the boards and quads that have got a big crack in them. After reporting it to my builder (who palmed it off to Beaumont), Beaumont were so slow to respond and then their inspector did what all incompetent, avoidant companies do- they denied any responsibility; blaming me for some sort of leak or liquid spillage in my house that never happened. I informed the inspector that I haven’t even had a chance to mop the floors because I hadn’t even fully moved in. This company will do anything to get out of attending to their responsibilities around their defective products and/or installations and will just blame you for something you didn’t do. I’m now having to report them to Consumer Affairs after submitting a complaint; Im definitely not accepting my warped floorboards in my brand new home. Beaumont demonstrate no care or diligence whatsoever towards their customers.

job as the hybrid floor had to be taken up and the floor was uneven. We also had vinyl tiles laid in the kitchen. The carpet layers made sure where the carpet meets tiling the levels were good. To make it even more difficult we have very large, solid furniture in confined spaces. The layers did a superb job. Approximately 70% of the boards contain black filler, giving the overall appearance of what I would consider a lower-grade or “rustic/CD-grade” product. The discrepancy between the showroom representation and the installed flooring is significant. The sample boards shown at the time of purchase did not accurately reflect the level of variation, defects or filler present in the supplied product. years. - complaint raised with Beare Flooring Jan 2026 less than 4 weeks later. -[Name Removed] came out From Beare Flooring and agreed Carpet was compressed in traffic areas and matted. - Followed up again in February, [Name Removed] from Beare Flooring said it was with his State Manager. - Followed again March, and could not reach [Name Removed]. Then found he had left Beare Flooring. - April I called head office Beare Flooring. They put me to State Manager. He said he had escalated it to Feltex. - [Name Removed] from Feltex came to our home and inspected carpet with a tool bag. He had a wire brush and brushed the carpet heavily and then a lot of vacuuming. It looked better, then as soon as left and you walked on it it went back to flat and matted. - Got a report from Feltex 4th June saying no problem with carpet so they are washing their hands from it. Don’t deal with Beare Flooring as you can see from my persistence above they just want you to go away. Also don’t buy Feltex carpet. Their Dream Shadows is not fit for purpose and you can see other customers on this site have also complained about this same product “DREAM SHADOWS”. Will now be pursuing legal action with Beare Flooring and their Feltex product DREAM SHADOWS. I have included a picture. It is hard to show the flattening and matting of the carpet, but you can see it and it looks absolutely terrible in person, and this was 4 weeks after install!
