The work was done carefully and efficiently, and they didn’t just rush through it they actually shaped everything nicely and made the space look much more open and tidy. They also cleaned up properly afterwards, which made a big difference.

The work was completed efficiently, and they handled the whole job with great care, especially considering the number of trees involved. and Contract signing, to the point we cancelled the contract. The designer left the business and his replacement (s) had no clue what they were doing.

Points to note:

1.They sent an "Architect" to site who designed and listed the Tile amounts and sizes, which did not work in with the Pool Coping, and could not be cut to suit without chipping the edges of the rebated tiles due to these being stone. In addition, gave us the list and told us we have to place the order and delivery with the Supplier, and to make things even worse, made no allowance for wasteage / cuts for the poor tiler who had to ensure he got everything spot in first time.

2. Called me at work to come to site and check the excavation and set up by the concreters was correct (It wasn't and the went ahead anyway leaving us with a pool shell 150mm short at one side, finished too high and 40-50mm out of parallel with the rear elevation of the house, which resulted in having to cancel the Tiles in that area and install conrete to hide it).

3. Left cut, exposed and untreated Reo Bar ends visible through the concrete shell and were about to spray the surface finish straight over until I pointed out this was a defect and would be an issue down the track.

4. Tried to hit us with a ridiculously high Variation Cost (approximately 33% of the orignal quote) which they couldn't justify and got up set when I asked for a breakdown, and simply sent an email for the amounts broken into 1 x Labour and 1 x Material amounts.

5. Provided no warranty for the Spa bubbler blower, which failed after just over a year and ignored all calls and emails to discuss.

6. Left Tile Grout / Pool Render / Concrete in the Spa and Filter outlets, whch blocked some of them, in addition to the same materials being left uncleaned on the pool surface and steps.

7. Constructed the Wall for the Waterfall Feature and simply left the rear of it as unfinished concrete blockwork with no attempt to even make the poining uniform or tidy.

8. Provided a "Handover Process" of simply telling us everything was good to go and handing us manuals.

9. Provided no after sales service for the issues we came across and again failed to respond to any contact.

Engage at your own risk, as once that contract is signed they simply want in and out asap with the money, and we are now left engaging competent trades to try and rectify and finish the mess they created.

experience was the complete opposite. I engaged Jim’s Diggers in 2024 for approximately $16,000–$17,000 of landscaping works at my property following construction of a granny flat. Before the works commenced, I specifically raised concerns about drainage and water pooling around the new building. I supplied stormwater plans and asked for advice regarding drainage solutions, site levels and water management. Shortly after completion, the same area flooded. A rectification attempt was made by adding additional gravel, which I was advised would resolve the issue. It did not. In August 2025, the property manager reported significant flooding, water pooling, drainage concerns and tenants having to place sandbags around the air-conditioning unit. From that point onward, I spent almost 12 months trying to get the issue resolved. Over that period there were countless follow-ups by SMS, WhatsApp, telephone and email. I repeatedly received promises such as “I’ll call you back”, “I’ll be there next week”, “I’ll organise a date”, “I’m speaking to a plumber”, and “I’ll get this sorted”. I also had to coordinate access with tenants and the property manager multiple times. Never showed up. The most frustrating part was not the defect itself, but the lack of follow-through. Month after month I found myself chasing updates, requesting attendance dates and seeking answers. The matter eventually had to be escalated through Jim’s Diggers’ complaints process. Their own Divisional Manager later acknowledged that Aidan had been given “ample time to rectify” the issue and that he had fail to communicate. However, all they did was "mark him at fault in their system", nothing else. The complaint was closed. Nearly two years after the project commenced, the original drainage issue remains unresolved. Projects can have problems. What matters is how a business responds when things go wrong. In my experience, the communication, follow-up, accountability and final outcome fell well short of what was promised. Based on my experience, I would not use Jim’s Diggers again and cannot recommend them.

Called the number provided and they said just pay it bit even explaining why a deposit was needed even if we have fully paid for the stay. and even emailed where the pvc under my driveway was for retic This got disregarded and they ripped up half my pavers to run another pvc Put the pavers back and before then end of the day they sunk dramatically In the paper work you sign off on before landscaping starts it does say some pavers may be lifted and it’s your responsibility to fix them I had to remove at least 30 and re haunch both sides including removing al the mulch and redoing it If I didn’t re haunch the drive way edges would of collapsed

When I emailed with pics I got the response that it was my responsibility Even after I explained I had emailed and even marked the pvc So I fixed it I fixed all the mulch thrown against my light grey rendor leaving black marks everywhere I think more mulch was thrown over everything but where it needed to go I fixed a fair bit of the garden edging that was either to low or to high and mulch just falling onto the grass And now I’ve fixed 1 pop up sprinkler that’s only been down for 2 weeks And has been playing up since day 1 So they probably knew it was stuffed So although the landscaping is included when you buy the block You get what you don’t pay for I guess And there’s no real excuses for poor workmanship and a bit of pride Just because of the turn over of work you have Definitely would not recommend for anything paying work
