foreign currency. I emailed Travel Money to see if they could fix this as their competitors were offering significantly better rates, they told me I was too late to price match. Really poor experience and I will not be using this company again.
MChange
Highly impressed with MChange! They processed my request super quickly and the exchange rate was the best I could find. Friendly service and great rates—definitely my go-to from now

out my money and lost $80 because of the exchange rate. I hadnt even left the country yet. It is literally day trading without telling you. DO NOT USE THIS CARD. Commbank is the worst bank, they have gone downhill so much.

was €82 Euro after a €6 service fee. We asked for our refund in Euro so we didn’t lose money via a poor exchange rate but the customer service person refused and said it would be given in Australian dollars. She said they did not take a ‘commission’ so it would be alright. The ‘standard’ exchange rate on the day was 1.62, so we should have got about AUD$132. She gave us AUD$100 at an exchange rate of 1.27. When we queried it she simply said ‘this is an airport’. If at all possible, avoid using this company. Lesson learnt we should have posted it in for a delayed refund.

Don’t use Crown currency for exchanging AU$ to Euros!!! I exchanged AU$1100 today and got only 600 Euros whereas others would have paid around 650 Euros. Therefore I will never use Crown Currency Exchange in Harbour Town S/Centre again!!! Show details

raise an AFCA complaint.
Details: I put money on my account for travel, and then tried to withdraw the money that I did not spend. I tried to access my money online, and couldn't. I was told to download the app to access it, and still couldn't transfer the money out of the account. After an hour with customer service I was told that there was a problem with their backend, but that the money would be transferred out of the account and into mine within 72 hours.
Two weeks pass with no response. I call back, the situation still can't be resolved. So I raise a complaint to escalate the situation. and am told that the request to transfer the funds was sent through to a team that just didn't respond or action it. I was then told I'd need to fill out a form to manually process the withdrawal. In 2026, a company apparently cannot get money out of my account digitally.
I fill out the form, and hear nothing. It's been 4 weeks. The amount showing in my account is now $0, but I haven't received funds to my bank account. I'm trying to confirm whether the money has been transfered to the wrong account, or if it's somehow in my account under a different transaction name. Customer service is non-existant and non-responsive.

AVOID this product at all costs. Initial marketing says the card will be delivered within 3 working days, once you start trying to open an account… Read more
online this changes to '3-5 working days'. Only once you have loaded your cash into the account, do you receive an email that says 'up to 10 working days'. Also, you have to provide your address as it appears on the electoral roll, and there is no provision to note a second postal address, in the event you don't have Australia Post delivery to your address. I had 5 working days before I was going overseas, so I rang the call centre to get a progress update. I was told they have no way of tracking your card, and they won't assist you until it is overdue. Really?! The call centre operator couldn't tell me if it would be delivered by Australia Post or courier. Weeks later, I received an email to say my address was 'invalid' (it wasn't), and that the card had been returned. I didn't want to spoil my Canadian holiday so I waited until I returned to close the account, losing $200 AUD off my initial deposit of $2000 AUD. They don't tell you the exchange rate they use for your initial deposit, either. An absolute scam.

accidentally. I waited for a call back, didn’t get one, so I rang again this morning only to be told the person was in meeting - no appology. Never got a call back. Clearly don’t want my business and not a great intro to how they treat prospective customers - wonder how they treat existing???? Can’t complain about the customer service because there wasn’t any. Looking at other reviews, looks like net prompter scores don’t mean much to this mob. I’ll go to another provider - gave me bad vibes. I’ll try 7-11 now or BP.

rate, and on top of that there was an additional fee. For around $295 AUD, I only received 4,900 THB — significantly less than what a fair exchange would give.
While everything may have been technically disclosed, the overall pricing felt very misleading and poor value. This kind of spread is excessive and not what most customers would expect, especially in Australia where you assume reasonable transparency.
I would strongly recommend avoiding this service and using a bank or a reputable exchange with fair rates instead.

difficulty in getting my call answered. Finally got someone to answer. Told I hadn't activated my card. I had. Told the transactions were blocked as they were 'suspect' but I was trying to book on French Govt train site. Told to call back during business hours eventhough the Travel card app says 24hr support. Cost of call was exhorbitant. No help from Westpac at all. This has been going on for 2 weeks and still can't use my card. Having to rely on friends and family for money. Thanks Westpac.
