AI reviews summary
Overall sentiment for Asko Appliances is deeply polarised, revealing a significant divide between administrative help-desk interactions and physical product reliability. While the phone-based service team frequently receives high praise for troubleshooting and parts coordination, a substantial volume of reports highlight premature product failures, protracted repair timelines, and a perceived lack of accountability regarding Australian Consumer Law for out-of-warranty claims.
Pros
- Effective Phone Troubleshooting: Help-desk staff (frequently naming individuals like Joe, Max, and Jonathan) are highly rated for resolving minor issues, such as child lock settings and language resets, over the phone.
- Prompt Spare Parts Dispatch: When parts are in stock, the coordination and delivery of replacement components—particularly for DIY repairs—is described as efficient and professional.
- Quiet Operation: Users of functional washing machines and dishwashers highlight the appliances' stability and low noise levels, noting they are well-suited for apartment living.
- Helpful Instructional Content: The provision of video tutorials via email has successfully guided several users through resolving drainage and software issues without needing a technician.
Cons
- Premature Hardware Failure: Multiple reports indicate major components, such as oven elements, dishwasher PCBs, and washing machine motors, failing within 9 months to 4 years of purchase.
- Protracted Repair Cycles: Recurring complaints flag wait times of 8 weeks to 6 months for repairs, often involving multiple technician visits, incorrect parts being sent, and lack of coordination with third-party repairers.
- Installation and Delivery Failures: Significant issues were reported regarding incompetent installation leading to leaks and property damage, as well as delivery teams refusing service due to site access (e.g., stairs or parking).
- Warranty and Refund Obstruction: A consistent pattern exists where the brand refuses to replace "lemon" products, instead insisting on repeated repairs or denying claims just outside the manufacturer warranty period regardless of consumer guarantees.
Verdict
Asko appears to be a brand where the quality of the "premium" hardware often fails to meet the standard of its phone-based support team. While the help desk is excellent for minor guidance, consumers should be prepared for significant difficulty and long delays if a major mechanical or electronic fault occurs.
I purchased a brand new ASKO dishwasher from Harvey Norman, expecting the quality and reliability that comes with a premium brand. Unfortunately, the dishwasher failed after just one wash. The dishwasher was delivered on 3 July and installed two days later. After its very first cycle, it displayed a “drain pump blocked” error, even though there… Read more
was no blockage. Water remained in the bottom of the dishwasher, and it became unusable.
I contacted ASKO immediately. During the first technician visit, the technician assessed that it could be a pump. ASKO decided, without any communication with us, to order a pump and replace it.
A second technician visit was then required, one the parts have arrived, meaning even more time without a working appliance (3.5 weeks at this stage). Throughout this process, communication from ASKO has been extremely poor. No replies to my emails or calls. I have had to repeatedly contact them myself to ask for updates. After the second visit, I was advised that my case had been referred to a coordinator for a decision. Despite being told I would receive an update, I have still not heard back. I called ASKI again today 3/08/26 only to learn that this is still awaiting a decision from their management. 4.5 weeks without a dishwasher and still no refund.
What has been most disappointing is that ASKO decided to pursue repairs on a dishwasher that failed after its very first use, without discussing any alternatives with me. As a customer who purchased a brand-new premium appliance, I expected better service, better communication, and a quicker resolution.
Instead, I have spent weeks chasing updates, waiting for decisions, and being left without the dishwasher I paid for. The lack of communication has only added to the frustration.
I chose ASKO because of its reputation for quality, but my experience with its warranty service has been extremely disappointing. I hope no other customer has to go through the same experience. I will not be buying anything ever from ASKO.
Very poor. Dishwasher I bought from Asko, board got burnt out due to malfunctioning of the dishwasher. Till now it has been 2 weeks since i raised the service request but no ETA in sight. Extremely poor service
Dishwasher Experience: Purchased was quick and easy. Was promised delivery the following week on a specific date. Applied for leave from work as it was a weekday. Last minute got a text saying the delivery has been cancelled. Re-arranged another date just before we left on holidays. Took another day off. Received text saying that the installer… Read more
which we paid extra for is not available. Another day wasted. We pushed back our holiday to fit the actual delivery date a week later. Product is new so no issues yet. Overall experience feels ASKO customer service is lacking and unorganised.

This review is a bit of a mixed bag. I absolutely loved my new machine when it first arrived. It washed well, spun the clothes well, almost dry, and the various functions did what they said. The star ratings good and water efficiency high. I was raving about it. However, once a fault arose, it went downhill very quickly. The fault was a… Read more
metallic ticking noise on the spin cycle, which intensified the higher the machine spun. The service agent suggested a new door seal to rectify the fault, in the first instance. I was skeptical of this, however took their knowledge of the product, having come directly from Asko (not an Agent) as the right step. This made the fault worse.
I had to wait three weeks for the part to arrive and be fitted, in the first instance, so it has been a long drawn out issue.
As to the time it has taken to resolve the full issue. I raised a service call on the 16th February 2025, and it was finally resolved with a refund (excluding delivery) of the full purchase price on 30th April 2025.
I would have been happy with a replacement machine after the first service agent visit. However, after the door seal was replaced, I no longer wanted an Asko product.
It took three service visits, plus the collection of the machine on a different day to keep this moving. Luckily I have a flexible working arrangement, as the Service Agent was only available in my area on a Friday. My frustrations compounded by the fact that their arrival time was only confirmed late or after business hours on the Thursday before.
Through this whole process I have had to follow up with additional calls direct with Asko at each step of the process. Not once, have they been proactive. Yes, I was extra frustrated on one off the calls, but the annoyance factor and absolute lack of compassion or care got to me. I also needed to engage the selling agent to assist, as I was getting nowhere with Asko on my own.
But the icing on the cake was the text message I got the day before the faulty machine was picked up, confirming the Delivery of my New Asko product. Good to see the AI machine is working in their dispatch system.
So, not only was the product not up to standard, the after sales has been extremely poor too. I sadly therefore can't recommend Asko.
ASKO STEEL SEAL QUATTRO 10kg washing machine. Terrible. Shakes under low rpm, leaks water, out of warranty (3.5 years) service repair man has been out 4 times and each time finds something wrong but doesn’t solve initial issue (initial visit barrel installed upside down, the door bearings changed, then seal). Still crap. This was their top of the range machine.
Absolutely rubbish customer service, quality of the machines are not worth the premium and a joke of a company – Do not buy ASKO products, they market themselves as premium appliances with award winning customer service. This is so far from the truth its beyond a joke. My experience with ASKO summed up in a nutshell: In 2021 I purchased the ASKO washing machine, dryer and dishwasher as a set from Harvey Norman as the brand was marketed and sold to me from… Read more
Harvey Norman as a premium brand that is just below Miele and on the same level as Bosch without the price tag and would last 10+ years. So I pulled the trigger on the set (washing machine, dryer and dishwasher).
After 3 weeks, delivery was due. At the time of purchase and payment, I advised Harvey Norman that the washing machine and dryer were to be double-stacked, but upon arrival for installation, the ASKO installer said they had not received that instruction and was saying that they were not goign to install the machines which I had communicated that this was their issue and I had organised someone to be at home for the install and I could not accommodate another date. Somehow the machines were double stacked when I arrived home.
The appliances worked fine till 2023, I noticed that the washing machine sounded like a helicopter landing in my house on full spin so I rang ASKO they said my warrant of 24 months was expired and I could engage a ASKO approved 3rd party repairer at my own cost. I then thought this wasn't good enough so I told ASKO that I'll go consumer affairs because under consumer laws this isn't correct and if a machine was less than 5 years old but more than 1 under consumer garantee I should be covered. ASKO then agreed to repair my machine under good will. After arranging multiple repairs, and alot of phone calls to ASKO about the machine supposedly has been repaired but still sounds like a helicopter landing in my house from the vibration over 9 month period they had decided to refund the full amount.
For everyone with similar scenario to me, do not give up and persist with your refund, as ASKO are hoping you will not follow up by brushing you off. Additionally, don't bother with the feedback@asko email they have not ever responded back to me once. Please stay away from ASKO its not worth your time and hard earned money. Their customer service is an absolute joke from their service reps through to their account division they cannot organise anything and are hopeless.
Additionally the approved repair companies are also a joke (APS Perth and Nationwide).
see my videos of each stage:
Video 1, 2 & 3 - before repairs Video 4 to 9 - after APS repair and after Nationwide repair.
Please save yourself the heartache, money and time and stay away from this joke of a brand.
Worst ever washer & customer service – Never ever again !! Washing Machine was 12 months old - leaked from day 1. 5 service calls and no resolution. Asko then refused to repair and offered a refund. The washer on a 1200- 1400 spin cycle sounded like a helicopter was in the house and very wall and window vibrated. Glad they refunded as I purchased a Miele - whisper quiet on the 1600… Read more

I had heard such good things about Asko washing machines. We purchased the Asko W6088X.W. was the way customer service handled the matter. They would never get back to you, we were constantly having to follow up with them. They refused to take any ownership even with photos. When I requested to speak to a manager they refused to transfer the call and were rude. This is certainly not the service I expected from a reputed brand. With several phone calls (they never contacted me when they said they would) I got a refund Such a disappointing experience from the customer service team. They have no idea of accountability.
Absymal customer service. Dishwasher broke down within two years and the manufacturer refuses to honour the warranty or consumer guarantees under the law.
Still in warranty. Keeps breaking down. Er6. I have requested a replacement but they won’t. They just send someone out to repair it. This is the 4th time. Buy something else. Don’t bother ringing for repairs. I’m just going to dump it and buy a better brand. It has just broken down again. Not even going to bother ringing them. First 2 times it… Read more
broken down was an error and they sent someone out to fix it. Second time took awhile as the technician forgot to ring me. Third time I had cooked a roast, I kept checking it from time to time, after awhile this thick smoke was coming out as I opened the door and my roast that was cooking nicely was now burnt to a crisp, the heat was so severe. I immediately turned the oven off only to realise later when I had walked past that it hadn’t shut off. The area surrounding my oven, cupboards and bench tops near it was so hot, you couldn’t even touch them. The oven hadn’t turned off but not only that it was at such an extreme heat. Lucky we were home or our house could have been damaged. We had to turn the oven off at the main switch outside. I did ask for a replacement, they said no. They did once again repair it. So last night I cooked a roast chicken. Did a good job. Today I decided to do a self oven clean using the ovens self cleaning function. Took everything out, set it all up and about half an hour later I can back to er6. It has now stopped working. So now I’m just going to buy another brand to replace it and dump this one.
The invoice number shown here is of the repair invoice . I don’t know my purchase invoice number. But the good guys will have proof.
When we renovated our kitchen in 2019 we were talked into getting an Asko Oven. We could have gotten an oven for a quarter of the price but Good Guys claimed this was better value and would pay for itself by lasting a lot longer. We decided to get a quality oven. Shame that this wasn't it. I'm not sure if Good Guys get a bonus for up selling… Read more
this brand but I regret listening to them. Not only did it cook worse than the cheap one we replaced, it was difficult to use without remembering what all the symbols meant and the constant errors where it wouldn't heat up and required constant rebooting.
It was the worse and most expensive mistake we made. It just died just after 5 years. 9 ADVICE - Don't pay extra for Asko. It's just an overpriced inferior product.

premium product price tag with very poor performance. NB iThe dishwasher aarrived when new with a manufacturing fault on one of the trays. We gave up trying to get it replaced after spending over 10 hours on the customer service line over a period of several days. Again, buy at your own risk, don't swallow the marketing.
We purchased an Asko washing machine and dryer in late 2023 and have had ongoing issues with both appliances. The dryer has been a nightmare. Asko came out numerous times to try to repair it, only to finally replace the motor after several visits. Now, just weeks later, it’s already broken down again, and they’ve had to replace yet another part… Read more
because it kept making loud banging noises. Instead of acknowledging this is a faulty unit and replacing it, Asko continues to drag things out with more “goodwill” repairs now that the warranty has technically expired. Completely unacceptable given the repeated failures during the warranty period.
The washing machine has also caused major problems. It leaked earlier this year and damaged our brand-new cabinetry. Despite clear video proof and obvious water damage, Asko initially refused to accept responsibility because it wasn’t leaking during their first service visits. After countless emails and follow-ups, they finally admitted the door wasn’t sealing properly - but only after making the process unnecessarily difficult and stressful.
Customer service has been consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. My last conversation with a service staff member was particularly insulting: when I tried to share my experience and give feedback, he brushed me off by saying they “get a lot of time wasters.” Well, Asko - your customer service is the real time-waster.
This entire ordeal has disrupted our busy family life and taken up far too much of our energy - time we should be spending on our family, not chasing endless repairs. If I had the energy, I’d take this matter further, but for my own peace of mind, I’ll settle for leaving this review. Hopefully it saves someone else from making the same mistake.
As a designer, I will never recommend Asko to any of my clients and will actively advise them to avoid your appliances. Premium price, bargain-bin service - not what anyone signs up for.

Perhaps the biggest waste of money in my life. I contacted customer service in June 2025 and discussed continual rust bucket of a machine. through again. No response as yet ??? My washing machine and dryer are 9 years old. The rust has been an ongoing issue since the machine was around 2 years . I will be tossing the rusty machine and the dryer that “ screeches” every now and then out.The follow-up after sales is a joke! I will be going Bosch as the pricing is so much better and apparently the after sales service is very good. Shame on you Asko selling so many rusty lemons !
Oven constantly has errors, terrible customer service. They basically just ignore everything since they 'fixed' it and next day was errors again.

to come and assess. There was a call out fee. The cause was a part that was either faulty or had condensation on it. (We learned the cabinet should be used or turned on regularly as leaving idle could cause moisture to settle on parts!) Thank you all at ASKO for your fabulous Customer Service. It was refreshing to have such a good experience.
Follow-up · Heat Cabinet is working as it should. Thank you

The customer service has been horrible. One agent from the refunds department named Raj, was even laughing at me with his colleague because I was crying. He thought he had muted me.
They told me they will refund my laundry if I get it done while I was waiting for an answer and you guessed it, no refund for that.
I have 3 little kids under 4, one is a newborn. I have had to throw her clothes because they got mouldy waiting. I can’t afford a new washer until they refund this one but they don’t seem to care what so ever.
This company is a complete joke.
Follow-up · No refund for laundry, no other help, they were taking so long to pick up the washing machine and issue a refund. Lucky I purchased on a credit card and put through a claim. They even had the nerve to ask me to package the washing machine so it doesn’t get damaged. In what world????

still hadn’t been returned. When I contacted ASKO, I was initially told they couldn’t locate my refund because the transaction was still pending. The following day, after more chasing, I was suddenly told they had found it and processed the refund.
The whole experience was frustrating. I walked into the store expecting to buy a dishwasher and ended up with no dishwasher, weeks of delays, multiple phone calls, and having to chase my own money. Better communication and faster handling of refunds would have made a huge difference.
I can’t comment on the quality of the appliances themselves because I never received one, but based on my customer service experience, I wouldn’t be confident purchasing directly through this process again.
Quality product, not backed up by quality service. For a premium brand, Asko after sales , from spare parts to service enquires to shipping has to be The Worst I have encountered since dealing with Kogan years ago. These people have zero accountability and lack product knowledge and true customer care. I’d go so far to say I’ll never buy nor recommend an Asko product again, given the poor experience I’ve been through.

I had to contact ASKO Appliances as I had trouble with my washing machine. I dealt with a Consultant named Sarah. Sarah was very helpful and replied to e-mails very promptly. Sarah assisted me in resolving the issue and arranging for a replacement part to be sent to me. Sarah was polite and efficient. Thank you, Sarah, for great customer support.

a sensor, the issue still wasn’t fixed. We’re now 8+ weeks into this saga and ASKO still can’t diagnose the problem.
Their customer service has been consistently dismissive and unhelpful. For a premium brand, the experience has been unbelievably poor. Save yourself the frustration and choose another brand.
Purchased top line oven in late 2019. Element broke last year. Now the oven wont turn off. Called Asko, could care less. Now need to go down the fair trading route. Be warned, they don't seem care about their customers or their brand. After buying 4 of their appliances, never again.
I called Asko service and spoke to Joe re service call to replace door seal on Asko dishwasher. Call was efficient and resolved the issue with a service visit organised.

would of arrived from a manufacturing issue. We received an invoice from asko with no details of any issues just a fee for the inspection. We contacted asko which was a whole nother issue. The customer service was shocking. We were constantly put on hold and promised multiple call backs which never came. The funny thing is whilst you're on call waiting they are telling you how good their customer service is. After numerous attempts to speak to someone we were finally offered 30% discount on a new machine. Asko machines are twice the price of other brands so it will still cost more than all the others on the market with the discount. Moral of the story is don't waste your money on a asko washing machine which is over $2000 and doesn't last 5 years. Shop elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.
Earlier this year we bought both an ASKO washing machine and dryer. We are very happy with both. Yesterday I contacted customer services about a program on my dryer.
