What you are looking at is my brand new BRIVIS evaporative cooler, only 6 months old with 5 years warranty. They refuse to honour the warranty and blame the weather. It was supposed to replace my existing Bonaire which lasted 15 years in the same… Read more ·  2

spot and same weather conditions. The installer AIRMAZING requested 50% deposit for a Bonaire, then announced thereafter that it was not available from their supplier and offered the doomed BRIVIS unit for $3500. It was very hot, they knew I was under pressure to accept. I have checked with Bonaire since. Their unit was never in short supply at that time. Under different conditions and less pressure I would have done my research and found from other reviewers that BRIVIS is a waste of time and money and AIRMAZING should have known or did they know? BRIVIS is blaming the failure of the unit entirely on AIRMAZING. I am expected to replace the entire unit at my own cost.

Follow-up  · Want to know more? Total cost was $3500 Answer from Brivis to a request for replacement under warranty is as follows: This is what they called their independent report: Description of Work: Inspected evaporative cooler. Unit blew apart in high winds, then reassembled incorrectly. All lid securing screws missing. All cooling pad frames… Read more

Brivis ICE gas ducted heating and electric air-conditioning installed by builder in new house eight years ago. Heating excellent, which is why I have given two stars. after several troublesome service calls. Slow and conflicting service with different diagnoses of problem. No resolution - had to write a letter threatening threaten legal action to get a remedy. Brivis finally supplied and installed a new main circuit board. This same board has now failed totally, after only seven years. (Same system, same failure in next- door neighbour's house. He was able to buy a new circuit board a couple of years back.) I tried to buy new board in February 2025 but was told the part is no longer avsilable. Willing to replace entire conpressor but was told a new one would not work with existing add-on Brivis ICE unit. Only remedy? Replace ENTIRE system. I have have done this, with a Mitsubishi system - at a cost of almost $16,000. Brivis = NO THANKS.

Brivis - Quality Gone Wrong – If I could give zero stars I would. We purchased a Brivis evaporative cooling unit just 5-6 years ago, and now, it’s completely failed. Despite regular servicing, the technician confirmed that the entire unit needs replacing—a shocking $5000 cost. To make matters worse, the new units are now manufactured overseas, sacrificing quality and leaving… Read more

customers stuck with subpar products.

Our previous Brivis unit lasted 20 years, so we genuinely believed we were investing in a reputable, quality brand. Clearly, that's no longer the case. What's truly unbelievable is that instead of being able to replace simple parts, we are forced to replace the entire unit, even though it's essentially still new.

This feels like a blatant rip-off, and it’s infuriating to experience such poor service and lack of accountability. Do yourself a favor—avoid Brivis at all costs!

Brivis F66DS - Birds eat up cooling pad. Not covered under warranty – Got Brivis F66DS from All climate solutions Mulgrave in Dec 2022. After an year birds eatup the cooling pads due to poor design of the product. Company and Rinnai denied warranty as it was wildlife damage. Paid 1200 Aud to get the pad replaced. Will replace with Breezair evaporative cooler next season.

absolutely the worst and not even what i paid for – in November 2020 I had my heating upgraded to allow "add on" cooling to be installed. paid $13,000 for this and also opted for the wifi control so i could use the system and turn on from work etc. after a few months the wifi system wouldnt work, re-added it through the app and it works but only if i am at home which is completely pointless. have… Read more

read online that Rinnai/Brivis "recommends" changing the wifi unit which of course is just out of warranty so no doubt will have to be at my expense. i have sent an online enquiry and heard nothing. have contacted the call centre for assistance and got through to someone who had seen my initial email and had sent it off to the "techs" and advised i would hear back. still havent heard back and still cannot use the wifi controls that i paid extra to have. not to mention the entire system didnt work for 5 weeks due to the air conditioner being dead on arrival and then the install company and Brivis having to fight it out all the while me being at home without air con that i have paid for. 5 WEEKS!!! for a brand new system to actually blow its first cold air and now the components are already failing. very disappointed. technicians attended and replaced the wifi module and spent a substantial mount of time adding and removing the unit from the wifi and still it doesn't work so its just been left with their team leader - unsure what the next step is but seems that I won't be having wifi controlled heating/cooling any time soon. the technicians even added it on their own phone but it still doesn't work outside of the wifi of the house so kind of pointless if I am in the house I can just use the wall control, I didnt need to spend money on a wifi control to do that. if there is another brand that you can go with I would choose that. 26/02/2026 The saga continues Just to keep the timeline going. The unit makes a terrible noise now when it’s hot. The installer logged a warranty job with Rinnai. A technician to come out under warranty - they have just attended today and their “supervisor” has told them the noise is “normal” which is interesting since it’s only happened for the last 12 months. The unit has been troublesome since it was installed and brivis/Rinnai when they attend are always very quick to wipe their hands of it and blame something else or gaslight you into thinking it’s “normal” well I would say if this is in fact normal then everyone should steer clear because it sounds like it will blow up any minute. The technician said “it’s like an engine when it works hard it has to make more noise” which I would understand for the fans but the electric “buzzing” sound CANNOT be normal. Also the sheer amount of time I have wasted on this ordeal is outrageous. Having to be home for techs to attend just so they can pretend it’s normal. Anytime someone attends they’re more focused on “what do you have the controller set on” so they can try to blame me ignoring the videos that I have showing the problem regardless of the settings inside.

Brivis ducted gas heater SP623 with constant faults. Last heating unit lasted 22 years this one 9 years. Technician stated that we should have at least 15 years out of this system. System made with cheap parts that do not last and supposedly rust. Heat exchange blocked and the condensation has rusted parts. Will never buy a Brivis again.

Worst service ever! – I truly believe their service doesn’t even deserve a single star. My air conditioner broke down, so I booked a repair service through their official website. Initially, a technician came to inspect it and mentioned that a part needed to be replaced, he will contact me and send me the quote very shortly. However, after that, there was no follow-up… Read more

or any response at all.

I’ve emailed their customer service countless times, and every time they assured me that someone would get back to me with a quote right away, but not once did anyone actually contact me. My family and I have endured an unbearably hot summer, and the air conditioner is still not fixed. This is just so frustrating! I chose them for the repair service, thinking that an official store would provide the best service, but clearly, I was wrong.

Satisfaction with call-out – Delighted with Rinnai service on our Brivis gas ducted heater. The unit had an intermittent fault coming on with no demand placed. Going Backwards – Soooo disappointing. The unit doesn't have the ability to run the zones individually - which is what we wanted so as not to have to heat the whole house. We have to have 2 of the zones running at any given time. Also, the fan is not adjustable while the unit is running. With our old heater, we could have the fan on high to warm the place and… Read more

then turn it down to low to maintain a comfortable level. The new unit is effectively high speed only and then turns itself off. When the temp drops, it comes back onto high speed again - that's crazy! Finally, the installer (Bluegasco), was hopeless. Rinnai needs to have better trained technicians authorised to install their products. Jackson from 1stCare was excellent - fixed all the zoning problems and connected the Rinnai App - which the installer had no idea about.

Look for another brand than Brivis Ducted Heating Unit – I’m not sure that my current experience with this company warrants even 1 star. may not be under warranty. The unit would not turn on at all. My installer looked at it to make sure it was not an installer problem even though it was working fine last winter and told me it was blocked injectors. The tech came today and advised me that the problem was “a tiny spider web in the injector”, obviously I could not see this at all. Of course this was not covered by warranty. The tech also advised there was not another spider or web anywhere in or around the unit. It is a unit that is situated outside for goodness sake. I went with Brivis as I had previously had a Brivis Buffalo 85 for 35-40 years which apart from a couple of parts needing replacing worked exceptionally well. I believe Rinnai/Brivis are trading on the excellent name of these older units to sell what is now a piece of junk. I feel for the service people that have to deal with the many disgruntled customers that purchase these dodgy products. What would Rinnai/Brivis suggest to stop this happening again. IF LOOKING FOR DUCTED HEATING DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BRAND.

Their customer service people are nice ..talk you through it..but you know what...people who pay good money fir an Australian made system ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO THTOUGH THUS NONSENSE EVERY TIME POWER GOES OUT....ACCC SHOULD INVEDTIGATE THIS. I'm so sick of the faults with this system.. that now has some other fault ..no error code..just won't ignite....stopped working no idea why I'm going to have it removed to the tip where it belongs IT HAS NEVER WORKED PROPERLY..IS TOO COMPLEX AND HAS BEEN UNSATISFACTORY SINCE INSTALLATION..Zone's dropping out...re sets after power outages.. complex difficult to program..flimsy controller that is impossible to remove for reset..clips now broken because of multitude of resets..plastic door on controller broke first week of use..it is not what they marketed to me. It's junk frankly. I will never ever buy a Brivis product of any type ever again. I would have been better off going hydronic or electric ...or choosing another manufacturer.
