I had a terrible experience with Instant Tint Bundall. I took my brand-new car in to have tint installed on the front windows, and that’s when the nightmare began. When I picked up the car, the tint was poorly applied, leaving visible gaps and uneven coverage — it looked completely unprofessional. Even worse, my door panel was out of place and… Read more

had marks/dents around the edges. For a “professional” tint shop, the workmanship was unbelievably poor.

When I pointed out the issues, the manager simply asked me to come back another day so they could reapply the tint — with no acknowledgment or solution for the damage done to my car. I was told the damage was “part of the job,” which is completely unacceptable.

I returned to the shop as requested, only to be told they were too busy and that I’d have to book another time. This meant I had to come back a third time, losing two days of work in total. After the re-do, the tint was finally applied to a reasonable standard, but even more damage was caused to my door panel.

I left a message for the manager to contact me about the ongoing issues and damages — it’s now been nearly two weeks with no response. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer service is shocking.

I do not recommend this place to anyone who cares about their car. Be warned — a simple tint job turned into a costly and frustrating experience.

Do not go here – I had an absolutely dreadful experience with Instant Windscreen and Glass in Tweed Heads. After receiving a quote to repair the rear window on my 2021 Mazda CX-3 and have it tinted to match the rest of the car, I was initially hopeful that the job would be handled professionally. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but. [Name Removed], the… Read more

person I was dealing with, seemed fine at first, but things quickly took a turn for the worse. While they did repair the window, I was told I would have to return at a later date to get the tinting done because they didn’t have time to do it during my initial visit. No big deal, I thought—until I inspected the repair work and noticed extensive damage to my car’s black paint, with visible scratches all over. This wasn’t just a minor issue; it was clear that thousands of dollars in damage had been caused to my vehicle. Naturally, I reached out to [Name Removed] to address the issue. He told me he needed to inspect the damage after the tinting was done. Once the tinting was completed, however, [Name Removed] completely denied any responsibility for the scratches, despite the fact they were clearly caused by their work. This was a shocking display of dishonesty, and I was left frustrated and extremely disappointed. After a lot of back and forth, [Name Removed] finally agreed to have the damage repaired by one of his “friends”—but off the books, no less. This only further confirmed to me that he knew his company was at fault but wanted to keep it hidden. It’s incredibly unprofessional and frankly, shady behavior. I would strongly advise against using Instant Windscreen and Glass in Tweed Heads. The lack of accountability, poor customer service, and subpar quality of work make it clear that this business is both unreliable and dishonest. I deeply regret choosing them, and I would hate for anyone else to go through the same stress, frustration, and financial burden that I’ve had to endure. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place unless you’re looking for an enormous headache and a hefty repair bill in the end.

Shocking tinting job and vehicle damage on brand new car – Absolutely shocking customer service . Went in for tinting and it was terrible quality and job. They even didn’t even tint back windows but charged me for it. They did a second time worse than the first . Then they damaged both door panels on a brand new car and refuse to rectify adequately. Will be taking legal action and recovering all my… Read more

My name is Paul Smith and I recently had Instant Windscreens and Tinting, Belmont branch, remove the old tinting, and apply new tinting on my car.… Read more

WHAT A MISTAKE. After picking up my car, I was stunned to see a mess left everywhere, and damage - see photos. There was old tint everywhere. There were stains on my car's interior from the steaming removal of old tint. There were bubbles on every single one of my 7 windows tinted. The manager [Name Removed] said they will go away soon. They did not. He then told me that the air bubbles were flecks of paint on the outside of my windows. My rear demister had also been damaged and no longer worked. It had been working prior to the tint removal. [Name Removed] later told me that the tint installer who did my job had only ever done one other car tint in Australia. Instant Windscreens asserts on their website that their technicians are very experienced and professional. And that every job is quality checked before customer pickup. I demanded a refund and restitution for damage, but not successful. I have had to instruct a lawyer to take out a claim in the Magistrates Court. This review in its entirety has been completed by Paul Smith, using my joint email address shared with my wife.

Follow-up  · In response to your readers' questions: There must have been some pick up of the old tint, but cleaned properly? NO. I refer you to the photos. Yes, I reported the damaged rear demister immediately. The bubbles remain. Has the matter been resolved? NO. Instant Windscreens have failed to resolve this matter satisfactorily. I am expecting it to go to a trial in the Perth Magistrate's Court in the near future.

Follow-up  · Today, Instant windscreens and I reached a settlement whereby Instant Windscreens refunded me the full amount I had paid for the tint of my car, plus a payment to cover the full detailing of my car. I accepted, without prejudice, that the old,… Read more

Had one of my customers honda civic for windscreen replacement, After telling their technicians to not destroy the mouldings because it is discontinued they took it out anyways and then tell you that they don’t have the right universal parts to fit on windscreen, then they took the old mouldings and never heard from them again, i have to call the… Read more

everyday of the week to see if they have the right parts yet, have given them a deadline on when the car needs to leave my shop, yet have to remind them two times a day about the issue, very poor communication between the employees in their shop not knowing someone needs to recheck my customers vehicle.

Have asked them for a refund they refused instead they want to put the old mouldings back on with tons of silicone, now my customer has taken his vehicle to someone elses shop.

I take issue with having to provide my home address for work completed in their workshop. It was explained to me that requesting that detail is so that "work can be accurately identified in the future." Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, businesses may only collect personal information that is "reasonably necessary" for one or more of their… Read more

functions or activities. A business cannot collect information just because it is helpful or convenient. The tax invoice accurately identifies the work with consideration to the vehicle registration. Were the registration to change, then that would certainly give rise to hindering accurate identification, even if presenting the tax invoice. Perhaps they should record the vehicle identification number (VIN), as that is surely a standard means of identification.

That suggestion gives strength to my argument that a home address is not required for work completed in their workshop, and the fact that a home address is insisted upon versus a more legitimate means to track work done to a vehicle by way of VIN casts a shadow over their intent for such personal data.

I regret providing my home address. I ponder the situation where the privacy of a customer may require suppression of the home address to protect them and what options are available to said customer. None were offered to me when I asked why an address was required.

They also claim that their work is supported by a lifetime guarantee, subject to their warranty terms, and that guarantee is not transferable. If I sold my vehicle one week after the work was completed, and paid for, and the new owner had an issue with the windscreen (or other product/service), then I wonder how the ACCC would view the negating of the warranty versus consumer law protections. But that is a subjective topic for a review so do not give it much consideration.

I am happy with the quality of the work done.

I went to have a small crack fixed in my windscreen. I had only just bought the car and noticed it a week later. When I got to the location, the worker told me that someone had already fixed the crack previously. It was done recently and it was most likely that I'd just noticed it, instead of it getting bigger. He said in his oppinion the work was… Read more

done very well and he did not need to do anything. He insisted on not touching it. He could've easily asked me to come back and taken my money but he didn't. If the window cracks in future and I believe the above is not longer true, I will remove this review. So if you are reading this, the honesty of this company still stands, and is of high integrity. I highly recommend.

DAMAGED CAR AND TERRIBLE SERVICE – AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I took my new car in to get a standard tint at the Midland branch and the resulting issues and response from the business has been horrendous. It started as soon as I picked up my car - the tinter had melted the exterior rubber window seal with a heat gun! What’s worse is no one said anything to me when I picked it up - I… Read more

guess they were hoping I wouldn’t notice. Upon inspecting the car further I found the passenger door seal was also hanging off the frame.

Upon calling [Name Removed], he was quick to blame his tinter and promised the damage would be fixed. I took the car back for repairs and asked that the car be fully inspected to ensure no other issues / damage.

After this was repaired, I had to take the car back again in as the front window was now making a grinding sound whenever I put it up and down. Upon having the car returned to me I drove it home and found that the interior door panel was now hanging off the frame and hadn’t been reinstalled. So i had to take it back (for a fourth time) to get fixed.

At this point I was fed up with the damage, the extreme incompetence and lack of respect being shown by the staff here. I told them I wanted a full refund and would be taking the car somewhere else for repairs as I had no faith in the quality of their workmanship.

[Name Removed] stated he would need to speak with the “director” about issuing a refund. That’s been over two weeks ago now and I’ve still heard nothing. Don’t make the mistake I did - avoid these people at all costs and don’t let them go anywhere near your car!
