Yeah, I want to say these boots are great. I wanted to buy something made here, cos I want to support local manufacturers. Kinda thought they might be a trash version of Blunnies, but they're the same. Cheaper price, sameish quality, but made here. Why are you still buying blunnies??

I bought a pair of Mongrel safety boots from RSEA Auburn store, it's support for my flat feet arch is fantastic, DeWalt was not that bad for arch support but not as good as this one, hopefully helps with my plantar fasciitis problem and lasts long.
Bought a pair of shoes from total work wear 2 days ago last night weared on work given me very bad blister on right feet ankle I went to store to resolve it but they didn't exchange or return they told me put on Facebook very dispionted I bought the shoes for good arch support now they giving me bad blisters Show details

used these boots mostly for casual wear so I can get around in dean, non—muddy work boots.
Nearly all Aus brand boots are made in China these days. I prefer to support Aus owned AND Aus made where possible; hence buying 4 pairs of Mongrels over the last 10 years, but I’m done. Good design and comfort, but they simply don’t last and end up as premature landfill like so many others. I do a lot of outdoor work on our property and also decades of reveg and landscaping work. I’ve tested virtually all the brands available in Australia including Blunstone, Steel Blue, Rossi, Redback and Mongrels (4 pairs). I’ve probably tossed about 15 pairs of boots into landfill in the time it should have been only about 2 pairs with some regular maintenance (many were not being used as work boots).
The companies all say the same thing; it’s hydrolysis of the TPU rubber soles which causes them to crumble. This pair of boots were worn regularly, but not daily (my daily work boots are cheap Chinese boots - see below!), so they weren’t sitting in storage disintegrating (why is that even a thing anyway?). Old style boots never did this and neither do my cheap MIC boots (I may review these later)!!!
Rossi were the only brand that came close to lasting like boots should but I don’t know if that’s still the case.
As mentioned, my $39 Chinese steel capped (Aus standard) work boots easily outlast all the “Australian” brands (except my old Rossi’s) and are just as comfortable to wear. I give ‘em hell and they go for years until the leather dies from lack of regular maintenance (ie my fault). I’ve also had a pair of these same ‘semi-retired’ MIC boots (now 5+ years old) that I rarely wear, and guess what? NO HYDROLYSIS!!! The elastics, pull tabs, and leather on these cheap boots have also been equal, and often far superior than the far more expensive Aus brands. We’re paying $$$ mostly for brand names these days…not on lasting quality. Wished I‘d kept my Italian hiking/rock climbing boots which were 20 year old and looked like 95% new (with good care).
If the Mongrels came with decent long lasting soles, I’d be giving them 4.5 or 5 stars, but after my fourth pair with failed soles, how can I remian loyal this brand or recommend them?
Boots have declined in quality drastically and now fall apart in 6 months This pair lasted 6 months worn in an indoor workplace and mongrel refused to offer any support as these photos were taken 2 weeks outside of the warranty period of 6 months. Terrible company

to wear them, because they kill my feet. So incredibly tight over my left toes and instep, and yet the right one only rubs my heel, and is fixed by wearing Elastoplast. Who'd believe that 2 identical pairs, 3 Years apart, could be as different as chalk and cheese?

an hour or two). From the moment I put on the boots in the morning and took them off at the end of the day, my feet felt very comfortable throughout and did not feel sore. Even with all the walking off the ship at the various ports of call. The only thing I did was to change the insoles, as I have high arches. I nearly purchased another pair in Hobart. But I didn't. I used to wear Blunnies and Rossi boots. But they are no longer made in Aussie. For the price, comfort, durability, and made in Australia, the K9's are the best.
Excellent boots. When I bought them, I asked for another brand which has some very impressive advertising. The assistant brought those, but asked if I wanted to try the brand she sold most of (Mongrel boots). I tried them. Much more comfortable in store. Mongrel boots are Australian made, as in Sydney. Service is great, so quick, I could not be happier with my Boots and shoes I have bought from them, online. Not worth the money – I purchased Mongrel work boots a couple of years ago. Very comfortable and the suede uppers remain like new. harsh chemicals. TBF I'm used to GP's which are less comfortable but far longer wearing. My last pair of Blundstones lasted 10years under far harsher conditions
Very average – Brought them because they are one of the only Australian made boots left on the market. Ok but the velcro tabs on the top of the zip doesn't work after a month or two. Blundstones are still going hard with the velcro tags and they're 3 years old. Well worn though. Won't be buying Mongrel again.

Have owned a pair of Mongrels for around four years. I wear them mainly when working in the garden or on household projects. They have held up well. Most importantly, they are the most comfortable footwear I own and are the only boots that I would walk a long distance in given that I have plantar fasciitis. I’ve recently purchased a couple of pairs of Mongrel innersoles so that my other boots and shoes will be similarly comfortable.

pair. Over a period of time both these pairs soles began to disintegrate the soles were actually crumbling away and this is what they pass off as hydrolysis. I call it an inferior product don’t except this excuse as this is the first time in 47 years of work l have ever experienced this in a pair of boots. Sad excuse for Australian made.

I contacted Mongrel, they were unwilling to assist. It appears as though quality is in a downturn to compete on price. I will not purchase Mongrel footwear any more and recommend others go elsewhere.
Pretty bad very disappointed – So disappointed my second pair and once again they’ve rotted away They never get wet they are kept in a cool place and again this has happened. I threw my suede pair in the bin last month.. not happy

was reluctant as they were $270 but I bought them, they were comfortable and I was happy with them. In mid November (7 months after purchasing them) the inner had worn a hole from where my heel rubs while putting my foot in the boot. 3 weeks later it is completely ripped and every time my foot goes in this folds to the bottom of the boot and cannot be worn like this. I took it back to the store only to find out that there is only a 6month warranty.
Definitely will not buy again. They need to last longer than that, I was annoyed that the Oliver’s only lasted 11.5 months…
Believe the hype – After listening to the MotoPG boys bang on about how great their Mongrels are, I got a pair to judge for myself. OMG, I wasn't expecting them to be this good. Super comfortable no matter how long you wear them and zero break in. I will only buy Mongrels from now on.

say other than they are worth the money. Under regular daily use and proper maintenance, they will last over a couple of years. In my situation, I got a solid year. In the context of wet, dry, dust, and other related extremes they have lasted far further than other brand have.
