I effected the policy in May 2026 and was assured of the cover. I lodged a claim in August 2026. issues. Clearly my claim wasn't read properly as I was only claiming for one issue...a polyp in the ear. Their rejection for both issues was pre-existing condition. My pet had an ear infection about 7 months earlier and their opinion was that this polyp is related to the previous ear infection 7 months earlier. If I was properly advised that any previous incident would be used to assess claims then I wouldn't have wasted my time and money. Obviously I cancelled the policy. Be careful with this insurance company as you could be wasting your money!

Yet again Seniors Pet Insurance have provided brilliant service. My dog was referred by my vet to a specialist vet who were slow in forwarding my claim after the treatment. It was a large amount of money and when I explained the situation to Seniors Pet Insurance within 24 hours they processed my claim. DO NOT GET Australian Seniors Insurance. Their Pet insurance is under written by Hollard's Insurance, probably the worst service insurance company in history. I would give Seniors Pet Insurance a 0/5 if I could. While it’s easy enough to register and start paying premiums, the experience completely falls apart when you actually need to lodge a claim. process, and then had to call again to lodge a claim because the online system simply didn’t work properly. Basic functions either failed, froze, or didn’t process correctly. This is extremely frustrating—especially when you’re already dealing with the stress of a pet needing care. The whole purpose of having insurance is ease and support in those moments, not added complications. Overall, a very poor digital experience that reflects badly on the company. I would not recommend based on this alone.

Our pet’s policy premiums have QUADRUPLED over 8 years – Great value when 1st purchased 8years ago $600+pa. Easy to set-up then, and with the added on-line ‘pet portal’ option, easy to claim & view claims. Wow! Stated in their policy - “We review our pricing to ensure we can continue to support the available treatment options”

IF YOUR PET HAS A SPECIFIC ‘CONDITION’ (arthritis,seizures) which was ‘pre-existing’ BEFORE the policy began, you will never be able to claim for it (as with any insurance company). Yes, we get approx 80% back on MOST claims (but there are strict limitations), and the ‘fine print’ in the lengthy, wordy, legal-jargon policy, means that if the Vet uses the wrong language when describing a medication etc in the vet report (ie Supplements) you will be quickly be denied any refund .

If you happen to complain about their policy premium ‘hike’, you will receive an email (i.e. typical boring, template reply), which always states that the pet’s breed, age, vet fees & medications are the reasons for this rapid annual price hike. Their email communication process has improved. especially in relation to claims. But If you actually try to phone them, you’ll go through the main switchboard, and then with much call transferring, you may get through to the correct Pet Insurance section. Very frustrating and time-consuming. They need to up their game in this area.

Based on research, we believe this practice of constant, regular, premium increases is standard throughout the industry. Is it really worth all the hassle? - Something to seriously consider before purchasing pet insurance.

The best cover we could get for our 11 year old Golden Retriever, super easy to sign up and secure policy. Was completed in 10 mins and also received 10% discount. Wish we could add on more cover but out of all that was available, this provided maximum benefits. Show reply

My experience, so far, has been to get a quote for Pet Insurance and to accept the quote. It was a great relief to speak to an actual person on the phone. That, to me, is a huge bonus.
