My Hyundai i30 Accent has 68 000 km on its odometer with a perfect service history. The car was bought brand new from Suttons Arncliffe and has just been diagnosed with engine failure. Hyundai Customer Care (?) and the Suttons Dealer are denying any claims. These are not investment cars but 'throw away' cars.
My experience with Suttons Hyundai Arncliffe regarding the diagnosis of my 2017 Hyundai i30 was disappointing. The vehicle was initially diagnosed with internal engine concerns, including cylinder wall scoring and timing-related issues, and I was… Read more
advised that engine replacement was recommended at a cost of approximately $9,000. Later, I was presented with a significantly lower repair proposal of around $2,800 to replace timing-related components.
Throughout the process, I sought clarification on what had changed in the diagnosis, whether the timing repair would address the previously identified cylinder scoring, and what caused the significant loss of engine oil. Unfortunately, I never received a clear explanation to these questions.
While the staff were polite and professional, the differing repair recommendations made it difficult to have confidence in the proposed solution. This ultimately led me to pursue an alternative repair option.
I also learned that maintaining a full Hyundai service history does not necessarily mean Hyundai will provide goodwill assistance if a major issue arises outside the warranty period. This was disappointing given the vehicle's low kilometres and servicing history.
Follow-up · Since my original review, Hyundai Customer Care reviewed the case but declined any goodwill assistance. The matter was escalated through NSW Fair Trading; however, Hyundai maintained its position and did not offer financial assistance towards the repair. One of my main concerns throughout the process was that neither Suttons Hyundai Arncliffe nor… Read more
Disappointing experience with the handover process at Suttons Mitsubishi Arncliffe. When we launched our new business, we heard nothing but glowing recommendations about Adam and Troy (Suttons Trucks Arncliffe) from several trusted contractors, so we knew we had to reach out. deeply understand our needs. They helped us select a truck that was perfectly aligned with our business model, ensuring it was the ideal fit from the start.
The first truck turned out so well that when it came time for the second one, we didn’t hesitate to have Adam and Troy design and build it for us.
Today, the second truck was delivered, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. It’s exactly what our business needed—no compromises. The level of expertise and attention to detail they provided is unmatched. We're so grateful to them both!

Selling cars on “class action lists” to customers who are unaware of cars that have manufacture faults – Purchased. 2013 Hyundai iX35 from Suttons Chullora through Teachers Mutual Car Buying Service. The vehicle was on a known class action list for dodgy motors. It was sold to me with no disclosure. Dealer and Car Buyers Agent claim they knew nothing of any issues with Hyundai cars. There’s thousands of Hyundais and Kia’s affected. Absolutely disgusted with the service and will never use both companies again.

to your car yet, Im about to get my tech guy look at it, I will call you back asap. Over one and half hours later no call back, so I call. Everything went down hill from there, all I got was how busy they were and that they were sorry. Sorry doesnt cut it less than a week out from Christmas. Explained my organised transport to collect my car was unable to get there, their suggestion leave the car overnight...my reponse was I need my car, you have let me down. Result I had to pay for an Uber. Collected car from a very unprofessional service centre...they just wanted me outta there. I suggested < why to you over book car numbers when you obviously can manage the numbers I lso suggested/asked to you leave all warranty repairs to the end of the day because your not going to make more money. Lesson learnt wont be back for my service in Feb 2026. I have been recommended an independant mechanic and guess what it wont cancel my warranty. Having your dealership servicing your car is a big ripoff
Follow-up · Yes I collected my car. When I asked about removing the rest to remove my fitted car seat covers, it had not been done. happened. I rang Suttons at Chullora explained to them the problem and the earliest they could see me was a month further on. By that time my neighbours would have strung me up. Suttons advised me that because it wasn't a service booking they couldn't give me an earlier date. I have since sold the car and bought a Toyota which I must admit is a much nicer car. To Suttons, a big no thank you.
Follow-up · The NRMA could not offer a solution to my problem. They suggested I contact Suttons to run a diagnostic on the car. Very disappointed with my recent service experience at Suttons Arncliffe Hyundai. One of the reasons I chose Hyundai was the Guaranteed Service Pricing program, expecting transparent and predictable servicing costs. Unfortunately, this latest service raised serious concerns about pricing transparency and customer service. The labour charge… Read more
excluding GST increased from AUD 144 last year to AUD 368 this year, despite the same replacement parts being used. The vehicle was serviced from approximately 8:38am to 9:30am — less than one hour — making the labour cost extremely difficult to justify. Before payment, I first asked the service manager for clarification regarding the large increase in cost. The response I received was simply that “Hyundai dictates the price.” When I continued asking for a proper explanation, I was told that oil prices had increased. However, after reviewing the invoice, the oil and parts pricing were essentially the same as last year. The significant increase was clearly in labour costs, not parts or oil. Unfortunately, the same dismissive attitude continued at the front desk, where I again received no transparent explanation for the charges. I understand prices can increase over time, but customers deserve honesty, transparency, and respectful communication — especially when questioned about substantial cost increases that appear inconsistent with previous services. This experience left me feeling overcharged and poorly treated as a loyal customer.
Never to return – Suttons must be the most dishonest business I have ever dealt with. I purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee as a fleet car and had it regularly serviced there, in which I found them highly over priced because they would do work that wasn’t necessary or requested for them to do and then just bill the fleet company without telling you… Read more
what they had done! When I would question them about the work they would turn around and say that I gave them permission! I eventually requested the paperwork from the fleet company and found out that the service department was signing under my signature (fraud) The next major run in was my car got towed in as the alternator and battery had a major shut down in which they told me they would have to wait for the parts to come from America, so after 3-4 weeks they said your car was ready. I turned up to pick up my car only to find that the passenger door was smashed in!!! I approached the service manager to say we have a problem only to have him turn to me and say the car came in like that! You could only imagine how angry you would be after you know your car went in perfect and they’re accusing you of lying ! So I said that’s easy let’s go to your security cameras, only to have him smile and chuckle and say ( we don’t have security cameras here! They had every excuse under the sun, the report they make on your car went it arrives just happened to disappear also! It came down to the fact that I couldn’t prove they damaged my car so I had to pay! ( it cost me a fortune ) they know they did it !!!!! And to top it off they charged me $900 for a new battery which died in a week! I’ve never dealt with them since. I work in a work force of 2000 Australia wide and a union of 200000 Australia wide and have reported this to all. There dishonest dealing may have cost me but will cost them a lot more. I tried to contact Mr Sutton on the matter but couldn’t get through , I would still be happy to talk to him about the people he has representing his business. I’m sure you can work out who I am. As promised I will never let this go and will repost till the day I Die.

actually matter and here, both are absolutely appalling.
From the exact moment I dropped my car off, proactive communication from their team has been non-existent. I have been the one forced to constantly chase them up for every single update.
The most concerning issue, however, revolves around a small dent I found on the car when I picked it up in early January. When I raised the issue, the dealership produced paperwork with a signature, allegedly mine, claiming I had agreed to this 'pre-existing' damage. I absolutely did not sign this document, nor was I given a copy of it at pick-up.
For three solid months, they have ignored my emails requesting a copy of this mysterious paperwork and are using it as their excuse to refuse fixing the dent.
If you value transparent communication, basic customer service, and honest paperwork practices, I highly recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else.
Follow-up · Dealer is standing on the dent being there prior to it being in their dealership for weeks. Despite numerous attempts at asking for proof, none has been provided. Handover was very poor, not even mentioning the dent or a flat rear tire warning at handover. Original fault was AC unit failure on new car handover.

I had a MY23 Subaru Outback serviced on 20th February, 50Km. I think they identified a couple of issues I was having and I was grateful these were fixed. They had also identified that the rear tyres needed replacing, which I decided to do on my way home. What I wasn't happy about follows. 1. My new front number plate had been bent, really? 2.… Read more
There is a small paint blemish on the passenger side bumper that definitely wasn't there prio to the service. 3. A small mark on the drivers door edge. 4. Having decded to fit new tyres of my choice, i did this immediately afterwards. When the old tyres were being removed, a wheel stud on the rear passenger had been cross threaded by the Suttons Service staff. This left me with a car on a hoist and a wheel hanging off. Not wanting to drive back to Suttons with 4 of 5 wheel studs, I was forced to ask the tyre company to replace a wheel stud, which cost about $150. I called Suttons service and explained the situation, they declined to reimburse me, which leaves me retinking Suttons for ongoing services. For those who don't undertstand what cross threading is, its a service 101 rooky fail. It should never happen.!

say your car was ready, "NO" I did not. 2. I was offered a courtesy car wash and interior clean on the day of service, which I accepted, not done ? 3. Two problems I asked to have looked at, and the lady serving me could not read the technicians writing, and went to decipher the writing. No problems found, or explained ? 4. On drop off, (raining) I was told to move the car to a car park further away from the service entrance, then told I had to put my keys in a envelope and write details on the envelope, and put in the early drop off mail box, they open at 7am. I dropped off my car at 6.55, and it was raining. Upset, I told the service concierge who was in full rain gear (pants, coat and rain hat) I not doing any of that, and placed my keys in the letter box, and left. 5. Early drop off directions were poor at best, the Suttons gate behind Suttons, was leading into the truck section, so around the block we went, and came back to the truck entrance to access the Mitsubushi car service area. 6. All morning from 7.30 till 8.30, I rang 3 times, and only got the truck service dept, car service dept did not pickup. Good. 1. Very nice service reception. 2. Very nice service people. 3. Got a call during the late morning to tell me they received the car, would I like a complementary car wash and interior clean. .

I bought my car from this dealership and also used their service centre, expecting professionalism. However, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. Despite this, the final bill nearly doubled to about $6,350, with no clear explanation until several days after the service was completed. This drawn-out process took nine days in total, with multiple people involved but no single point of contact managing communication, making the entire experience frustrating and inefficient.
Throughout, I repeatedly requested updates from the team, but responses were delayed or unclear. No official SMS or email from a specific representative confirmed the vehicle’s readiness. I was forced to accept these escalating costs to retrieve my car, as it was withheld until full payment creating an unfair situation where I had no leverage to negotiate or seek alternative advice.
On top of this, basic details were overlooked: wheel markings weren’t removed after replacement, and the rear wiper rubber was broken during servicing. Given the vehicle had less than 10,000 km since the last service, I expected a smoother process with better transparency and accountability. Overall, this experience severely eroded my trust in their service and highlights the need for clearer communication, dedicated responsibility, and fairer business practices. Customers should never feel pressured or trapped when paying for essential repairs.

Absolutely shameful. My 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander required a full rear brake pad and disc replacement at just 24,000 km despite normal driving and being serviced strictly according to schedule. At the 30,000 km scheduled service, the front brake pads were assessed as having approximately 80% remaining, indicating that they are in excellent… Read more
condition. This clearly demonstrates that the vehicle has not been subject to harsh driving or brake abuse. If both the front and rear brakes were excessively worn, that might reasonably suggest aggressive usage, however that is not the case here.
After further investigation, I discovered that Mitsubishi has already superseded the rear brake pad part number multiple times, which strongly suggests material or design issues they’re not publicly acknowledging.
Even worse, I was told the rear disc rotors must be replaced every single time the pads are changed. That’s not standard wear and tear, it’s either a serious engineering failure or a calculated money grab.
Under Australian Consumer Law, products must be of acceptable quality, meaning they should be durable, last a reasonable time, and be free from defects.
My warranty claim was flatly denied by Mitsubishi Motors Australia, leaving me with a $1,182 bill for something that should never happen on a modern vehicle. There was no accountability, no transparency, and no customer care whatsoever.
I have now escalated the issue to the ACCC and NSW Fair Trading. This entire experience has destroyed any confidence I had in the Mitsubishi brand. Buyers beware, this is not the quality or support you’re promised.
