quickly converted to a comfy bed.

So we checked it out in store and did our measurements to make sure it would fit. (it takes up a fair bit of room.) The staff in store were very helpful and we chose the oatmeal covers and then ordered online.

Delivery was super fast and straightforward. The sofa arrived in four big and heavy boxes. We paid the extra for delivery to the room - which I recommend if you have to get it upstairs.

It was easy enough to unbox. The cushions came vacuum packed in plastic and quickly expanded to full size. The timber was wrapped in cardboard and was well packaged to be protected during transit. The boxes were so big that they were a pain to get rid of.

Straight out if the box, the oatmeal fabric cover looked well made and good quality. Very neutral. They had a strong smell that took a full week to dissipate. One cover had some loose stitching, and Eva customer service sent a replacement quickly in the mail.

The timber frame was beautifully made. Solid and clever. However, there was a patch on one leg that looked like the stain had been applied unevenly. Initially we were offered sand paper and oil to remedy the issue, but when we declined this they arranged for a replacement to be delivered to our house and the old one was picked up on the same day.

The slide mechanism was very stiff at first, requiring two people to open and close with lots of hugging and puffing. Customer service advised to tighten up the screws a little more and this improved things a bit. They posted out a beeswax stick to rub on the side rails and this helped a lot. It now slides just like the store model and is a dream to open and close.

Assembly was pretty simple. They send a link to a video or instructions. No tools are required. You just fold out the back and side, line up the bases and pop in ten screws with an easy turn top and put the cushions on. It took an hour with 2 people taking our time. The cushion covers were easy to put on.

It’s a very clever piece of furniture -and the customer service was top notch.

It is comfy as a sofa. You can adjust the cushion firmness by removing some stuffing- but we like the firmness. It is extremely comfy as a day bed, and three people can fit. We also like it as a bed. But some people might find it firm. The seam between the two mattress pieces does not bother us. Note that it is a standard double mattress size and would not suit anyone tall.

I Iove that the covers can be washed and replaced.

They lost two stars for quality control at a factory level cos we shouldn’t have to mess around that much. But they were so pleasant to deal with and the functionality is to clever that we would def purchase from them again. In fact, I would strongly recommend.

I did notice that they didn’t upload my review (which was very similar to this) to their website… which made me tad sad... but maybe it will go up soon?

When first set up, the Fabric was great, nice and soft even though it feels a little on the cheaper side..

Build quality - it's not the best. The instructions were fine, although we did end up with a bunch of black plastic rings that didn't have any place in the instructions, so they are still in the drawer. Read through the website and the booklet, watch the videos - they are never used. Boxes arrived with one missing; needed to wait a few days for the final one to arrive after a run around with Koala.

We have had the sofa for just under two months.

The sofa itself has already started to lose its shape because of the design in the hinges of the seated sofa, connecting to the back. The fabric has already shown signs of pilling, which makes it feel scratchy. (Our sofa is one used in the afternoons by our young son if he needs a bit of chill time, or a few family movie nights). The back cushions also sink and slip down the space where the sofa doesn't sit flat against the back.

The sofa bed itself - what a disaster. The fold-out design is easy, which is where the stars come for the review. The half of the mattress that is on the base is hard beyond any measure of comfort. The other half is reasonably comfortable; however, due to the fold, you roll into the base and sink in the middle. It's literally impossible for two people to sleep comfortably on this. We are investing in a mattress topper to try and see if we can make this more comfortable (More money spent).

And then there are the straps at the back that keep the base to the couch when folded out in the corners. They make being able to add a mattress topper or a top sheet void - you can't actually tuck anything under. Extremely frustrating, and the sheets just pull off when you're sleeping or watching a movie.

Koala did ring at one point to discuss our purchase; however, when I asked them to call back in 30 minutes, they never did. Since enquiring about the sleep trial, we have not heard anything from them at all. Crickets.

If you are buying this sofa for an unused space, where you may get a quick sleep on it once or twice a year, I'd say it's okay. For anything that actually needs to be functional, I'd avoid it. For the price, you could get a far nicer sofa/ sofa bed.

once I saw the Ecosa Nimble I said why don’t we just get a really good sofa bed that does both and just keep it? I loved that the mattress has box springs too and not only high density foam which can be too hard. It’s very comfortable, it looks good, and I can see it lasting for a very time even when we move.

Timber armrest started delaminating after 4 years. King won’t look at repairing. Premium price for ordinary quality and poor service!!

up against a wall. It’s also very low set. It’s been 2.5 days now and it’s still not puffed evenly. I’ve massaged and tried to shape it. The material is ok and it can be comfy if you’re laying down but as a sofa, it’s not great. An external frame or some zippers to hold it together would go a long way.

(took mine 4 months, 3 weeks longer) which is fine. The problem is, as soon as they tell you it is ready, you have to pick it up straight away. They harass you daily when you pick up the chair even when I told them multiple times that I have to arrange and sort out the pick up since the chair took longer to make and collided with my holidays. I ordered it over the phone since i live remote, 1700 km away. So no friend could collect too. I previously asked for updates so I could plan better but they couldn't tell me. So I basically had to collect it through a company which was bringing it up to me but put it in storage until I arrived back from my holiday. Summary:They took 3 weeks longer than expected (which is fine) but than want you to jump into action as soon as they snip with the finger. When I bought that chair I was hesitant because I have kids. The sales women told me I can wash the 3 cushion covers since they are removable. So I took the covers off after they got dirty but by grabbing the insert cushion, I ripped its cover which holds the filling. It even did rip at the stitches, because it is weak, cheap, thin material which is not suitable for the heaviness of the filling. Plush told me I actually can't wash the cushion cover despite the sales person told me prior when I bought it and despite the cushion has a removable cover. I asked if I can buy a replacement insert, because this one is literally falling apart (every time I grabbed it and tried to put it in that cover, it ripped more) which they denied. They said there is no material fault and this is how the inserts are. They also couldn't tell me how to repair that insert. 0 customer service and sales woman who tell you what you want to hear. That chair is 3 months old.
