The original Davey pressure gauge had failed after 6 years with the needle initially having become stuck on zero then breaking (see photo) the cheapest Davey equivalent replacement that I could find was $109. Stainless Steel - Back Mount' Arrived within the week, a straightforward replacement for the Davey and its working fine. Difference other than price is that the Davey gauge is in PSI as well as Kpa, is in finer increments and goes up to 300Kpa as opposed to 250 Kpa. Both of the latter not relevant for the purposes requirement.

Initially I was after a cheap replacement but after a considered chat with someone from BPS, I realized what I was thinking about wasn't what I needed either so more research done and I settled on the Madimack inverflow pro 300. I did the price checking and did find a cheaper price but it appeared to be old stock and the other shop was not as responsive to queries as BPS are. The pump arrived in quick order and I just wish I'd bought this thing earlier! Compared to the p600 this thing is silent. The only trouble I had was the union barrel wasn't a perfect mate with the top connection and I managed to strip the thread on the plastic, but the metal threads were ok. A bit of careful surgery on the plastic starter thread and install on the suction port instead solved my problem (when installing you need to push hard as you screw until it engages smoothly). The independent Wi-Fi control is great too providing a liters per minute flow rate and power consumption figures. Didn't need support as part of the install but knew I was in good hands if I did.

Terrible experience with a Bestway Powersteel pool supplied by Best Pool Supplies and the follow up service, sales and warranty experience. Poor steel coating doesn’t perform. Rust developed within 3 months. Replaced. Rust developed over the following 5 months. Was told it is still under warranty. Sent photos to Beet Pool Supplies and Bestway.… Read more

They started nitpicking about which part numbers when clearly all the poles had rust and in a few short months no more warranty to cover it. Then weeks later after putting the rusted poles into the verge pick up they asked for more photos and denied the claim. My advice. Go to the effort of dismantling your Bestway Steel Pool and look inside the poles. That Rudy from inside sheee you can’t see as well as wher the powder coating is either too thin or has failed. Claim on the ladder while you can in the first year because it will not last and they make more money off you buying $140-$180 replacement ladders. And watch and screen shot the pricing of these pools over the next few months. The exact same BESTWAY pool code jumped from $2299 up to $2999 in the space of 2 weeks on the Best Pool Supplies site. The same thing happened last year when I was looking at purchasing the power steel pool I eventually bought for the hiked price! The industry needs to be investigated in my opinion for price gauging in summertime and a lack of concern for illusory assistance of its powder coated pools promoted as “fun for the family for seasons” when these pools deteriorate so quickly, based on my experience
