It was easy to use and did a great job cleaning the carpets and upholstery.
Very easy to use/set up, did a great job at cleaning my couch and carpet. Loud and exhausting work though. But for once every 1-2yrs it’s a GREAT deep clean. Highly recommend :-)
Convenient to hire instant collection i found it easy to use, it actually removes old stains & leaves carpet smelling fresh & feeling considerably dry i was very happy with this machine thank you
Britex machine did a great job deep cleaning. Carpets looked fresh after the clean and were left to dry overnight before putting furniture back. Hired from Bunnings for the day. Very economical and had the cleaning liquid from past machine usage. Before and after pictures attached.
I recently rented Britex carpet cleaner. Their machine was very satisfied. Work machine was practical, comfortable, and really helped me stay productive. Great service overall.

Great clean but hard work – Hired from Bunnings. The process was easy. Cleaned carpets, a rug and tiles plus the grout. It was hard work, needing a decent amount of arm strength. The machine is also very noisy. The effort is worth it for the clean you get.
Follow-up · The noise was okay. Some stains were removed but not all stains. I was glad I hired for two days as it is good to take your time and redo sections. Tile grout takes longer.
Easy to use- good results- affordable- left house feeling fresh and new
Follow-up · Carpet has stayed clean but a few minor stains remain but overall a big improvement..
Overall did the job ok At one stage after replacing with fresh fluid it wouldn't work. The phone help quickly sorted the fix. My only negative is they are a bit heavy and cumbersome to lug up the stairs if you have 2 stories. Overall though a good experience
Follow-up · Manoeuvrability is ok for such a bulky thing. Heavy to carry up to first floor though The fix was to get the hose below the output to restore flow, phone help good. 1 day hire.

The Britex Rug Doctor upright cleaner is easy to use and cleans very well right to the edges. Particularly easy to use in a regular-shaped, empty room. Upholstery attachment is simple to attach and use as well. Excellent results and great value. My only gripe is the "in shop" booking system which seems restrict the retailer. I attended a Bunnings… Read more
store where 1. machines weren't available as they hadn't been tested and tagged, and 2. machines had been reserved but not collected (for more than 24hrs) and Bunnings advised they couldn't release the booking. It took me some time to find another available nearby. One retailer's (small-med supermarket) staff was unaware of the product so it took a number of iterations to dlfind it was not available. Major retailer (Woolworth's Arkaba Fullarton) didn't even answer the phone. However, Woolworth's Walkerville saved the day with excellent on phone communication and in-store assistance for same day service.
I'd suggest making a booking in advance (if you can) and then call on the day to ensure the kit you've ordered is available.
Not only a waste of money but a complete waste of time – Britex carpet shampooer Initially hired from Woolworths. Persevered for a few hours but the machine had very little suction. We had added 9 litres and it was only extracting approx. 2 litres. The carpets were left very wet. Contacted Woolies who suggested we try another machine. The 2nd machine was marginally better so we persevered for a few… Read more
more hours. In then end the water extraction was still well under half and left the carpets too wet to walk on. We ended up contacting Britex who apologised, suggested we hire one from Bunnings as these were serviced regularly. Unfortunately, the suction was once again below par but by this stage we simply wanted to finish the cleaning. In the end we took almost 2 days to shampoo 5 rooms. We spoke with Britex again. The lady was very obliging, apologised for our time & inconvenience & gave us a voucher for another days hire. Unfortunately, it will be cheaper (time wise) to hire a professional carpet cleaner. So I am doubtful the voucher will ever be used.
Great Machine - but Bissell Revo ProHeat 2x is better value if buying one – I have used the britex machine a few times. It does a pretty good job at shampooing and extracting water. The carpets dry quickly However it doesn't "scrub" or agitate the carpet, and for stubborn stains I find this a bit of a negative. However you can compensate for this by using a carpet stain remover - Woolies sell a product called Dr Beckman… Read more · 1
pet and stain remover. It has a brush on the bottle - and I would recommend that on stains before shampooing. The Britex is excellent if you want to disinfect / deodorise your carpets. Its probably not recommended by the manufactuter - but I put the washing machine disinfectant (like dettol, or aldi sell a eucalyptus based product for around $4 a bottle). I figure if its safe for fabrics its safe for carpet - and it is good for disinfecting the floor
Having said all that (and if you want to rent, this machine is great) with Covid I decided I no longer wanted to rent a machine that had been sucking goodness knows what out of a strangers floor. I did some research and took a risk with the Bissell Revolution Pro Heat 2x. I think it was the pet one also.
For the price (around $500) I was really pleased with the machine. The carpets came up a bit cleaner than the Britex (as it has spinning brushes a bit like a Dyson powerhead). The Britex is $1600 - so a big investment for a device you use twice a year. I think from a value perspective the Bissell is a better option for home users. However if you have a bigger budget - the Britex is definitely simpler to use (especially cleaning), and I think it has much better suction (I think it took a day for my carpets to dry with the Bissell which may be a deal breaker if you kids).
If you are renting - 100% recommend the Britex. Even with the hygiene issues of renting - all of the components are quite easy to clean and disinfect before use (other than the suction hose - but I don't think this matters)

I had to clean an office for a end of lease .The machine did an amazing job and the britex spot cleaner took off stains and all chemicals left a lovely fresh smell in the building .
Hired a Britex carpet cleaning machine from Woolworths. Very easy and cost effective proceed. Machine was extremely easy to use and did a great job; the carpet came up nice and clean. Machine can be lifted by 1person and fits into a mazda cx3. If there are stairs but no lift, recommend getting help carrying up the stairs. Will definitely hire again on a more regular basis ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don't bother, unless you are prepared spend over an hour per small (3m x 3m) room and to ache all over from having to push down HARD on the wand to suck up the liquid out of the carpet. AND go over the grubby bits 6-7 times and STILL not get them acceptably clean. Any 'spots' were pre-treated before using the machine. The carpet cleaning… Read more
solution however is not fit for purpose.
Hiring was the easy part. Cost was "Too good to be true". Cleaning the machine after a 4 hour use was easy. But I am now left with a REALLY patchy carpet, that will have to be professionally steam cleaned, with a truck-mounted machine. I have learned a lesson - do not believe all the glowing reviews about these units.
I had got FAR better results - and almost perfectly clean carpets - from doing them by hand, in sections with sudsy hot water in a bucket, with clean hot water in another bucket as a 'rinse' but this was taking too long, hence hiring this unit.
Disappointing results – Carpets still dirty even after following all instructions. Without rotating scrub brushes I fail to see how spraying solution and then sucking up lifts dirt out of the pile? I tried using my hand held upholstery cleaner with a scrub brush and suction nozzle on small carpet section and it came up beautifully but this is ineffective on a large… Read more
area. Disappointing results, cumbersome machine in small areas. Waste of money. I only gave it two stars instead of one due to the fact that the solution smells fresh.
Works but slightly disappointed – When quoted over $600 to clean the carpet in my house I thought it would be worth giving a Britex machine a try. The machine certainly removed a lot of dirt from the carpets and upholstery, but I will still need to use a professional to get the results I want. Stain removal was poor and many minor spots required a number of treatments. My… Read more
carpets are cleaner, but it wasn't worth the effort despite the comparatively low cost. The tile and grout tool was utterly useless and made virtually no difference to the tiles. A standard mop and supermarket floor cleaner was more effective and less cumbersome. Next time I'll pay a professional. Hire staff at Bunnings were fantastic!

The Britex carpet cleaner was easy to hire, easy to use, and did a professional job much cheaper than having the carpets cleaned by a professional service. Very please with the result and cost
Fantastic first experience ever cleaning couches with cleaning equipment! Very good result. Easy to use machinery. Stains came out easily, and super helpful staff at collection point.
I hired the machine to clean carpets for houses rented out to the feedlot I work for. Some of the houses have extremely old carpets and have been vacant for some time. The machine pulled out some very nasty stains from the old carpets without damage. The carpets were dry in no time and the houses smelt and looked so much cleaner. The machine is… Read more
very loud so I would recommend using ear protection. It’s easy to use and empty and was available at my local mitre 10 with little notice. I would recommend this product for anyone wanting to clean their own carpets. I have a carpet cleaner but it’s nice to use this one once or twice a year to deep clean from heavy traffic and animals inside.
I hired the Britex machine to clean my mums home There were some very grubby spots were cleaned so easily. The scent of the shampoo left such a fresh smell throughout the house. It was great value ,especially for 24 hrs .Highly recommend this product ! Will definitely hire again . Only negative not many places have the machine for hire anymore

Easy to hire, instructional videos easily available online, easy to use, easy to clean, easy to return, great smelling cleaning liquid and the carpets dried quicker than I expected! Will be using it again
Easy to use, very effective. Would have been a 5 star review if there was the option to have a wider floor nozzle to increase efficiency and reduce the time it took to clean all the carpets in the home.
Amazing result from a little work . The chemicals work a treat and the amount of t of grime removed was incredible to see . Definitely worth the time and a great hire price .
Affordable. Instructions clear to follow. Effective to remove the dust and grime. I used it on my couch and thankful I got to hire one to do myself cause I feel would work more effectively instead of being undecided of what to get from the store. So made my job easy
I recently hired a Britex Carpet Cleaner and I was seriously impressed with the results. The machine was really easy to use and did an excellent job pulling dirt and stains out of my carpets that I didn’t even realise were there. After cleaning, the carpets looked noticeably brighter and felt much fresher. It picked up a lot more dirt than I… Read more
expected, and the whole house smelled clean afterwards. I would definitely recommend hiring a Britex cleaner if you want a proper deep clean without paying for professional carpet cleaning.
I find these machines a convenient way to clean the carpet, cost effective, good result, accessible, on my schedule. Makes the carpet look a lot better and doesn’t take long to dry.
First time doing my own rug shampooing. Great service, especially as I was able to pick up from my local Woolworths store. The person hiring should be aware that it is a reasonably cumbersome machine. I am in my late 60's and luckily the staff helped me get into my car and, out on returning. A good amount of time needs to be allowed to do the… Read more
shampooing but it is a very easy and rewarding process. My rugs came up looking very refreshed and did not take long to dry. I will definitely use again and probably a lot more often than in recent years.
I loved using the machine as it was easy to move around with its handle. It also cleans deeply and removed alot of trapped dirt out of my large rug. My rug and carpets smelled clean and fresh afterwards
