Our advice to anyone looking to build a new home would be to spend time developing a clear vision before you begin. Having a good idea of your preferred layout, design, colours, style, and interior finishes from the start makes the decision-making process much easier and helps create a home that truly reflects your personal taste. If there are specific products or finishes you’ve always wanted, sourcing some of these yourself can also be a great option to ensure you achieve exactly the look you’re after, while still making the most of the great range of selections available through GJ Gardner.
We’d also recommend taking your time during the final handover and in the months that follow to thoroughly inspect your home. Building is a detailed process, and it’s worth checking that every item has been completed and finished to the standard you expect. Keeping a list of any small items that need attention makes it easy for your builder to address them and ensures you’re completely happy with the finished result.

achievable design that will never get old. We were openly and expertly guided by their interior design coordinator to showcase our home with the scheme we wanted but one that blended well with our surroundings.
The site supervisor was visibly ensuring work flowed as smoothly as possible, and provided weekly updates including photos of the progress - right up to hand over day.
We are very happy and satisfied with the build quality and workmanship of our home - even converting from gas stove to induction has been a cooking and cleaning game changer!
As with all house builds there were variations and cost additions, but the total project came in within budget, and we were informed of the changes and variations every step of the way.
The GJ Gardner Northern Gold Coast team understood our wishes and our needs, as well as our constraints and time frame. What they have delivered is a place we are proud to call home - and ahead of schedule. The icing on the cake? They made sure the house was ready for us to move into so my partner could wake up in our beautiful home on her birthday - with a birthday hamper!!
It is now 6 weeks on and we are truly thrilled with our well constructed and well finished build. Thanks to the GJ Gardner Northern Gold Coast team we finally have a safe, secure and stunning place we can proudly call home!!

The project managing of the build team is fantastic! We are currently mid-construction and we receive scheduled weekly updates at a minimum. We know the Ararat team are only ever a phone call away and more than willing to answer any questions we may have. The build milestones and project management dates have all been communicated clearly with us, along with any delays. This communication is key when you are entrusting something so personal as your dream home build.
The workmanship of the Ararat team is second to none, and the use of other local trades where needed is wonderful for supporting your community and local small businesses.

was changing for manufactured stone, they but made sure we had the stone we had selected. The house has been lived in for over a year and is exactly what we planned. It allowed for us to add batteries to the solar and camera security to the internet connection. A well finished and well designed home to suit the block - the few things that needed correction, either GJ managed, or their contractors willingly worked with us. Especially impressive was that no one else has the welcome sash on the front door at hand over!!!

Follow-up · Since moving in I’ve found the quality to be top notch. The only issue I’ve had is the roller door was effected by having internet modem in garage. Since moving modem inside there has been no problems. Darren from GJ Gardner explained clearly what I needed to maintain at handover.

Follow-up · This review is very late but G J Gardner Liverpool have delayed some repairs and not done some repairs. The brand new house has a major mould problem in a bedroom due to water ingress, another wall has been damaged by eighteen months of water ingress and toilet seats are falling off, doors are crooked and windows won’t open. I fondly refer to my new home as the house of horrors.

The transition into the actual build was pretty easy and prompt, even though our build was somewhat unique in that we wanted to manage some of the finishes ourselves. Our supervisor, David was more than obliging in assisting us with that, as well as managing the build with transparency and a willingness to actually help, explain the processes and stages, and answer questions we had without making us feel like a burden.
Our build was completed within a very reasonable timeframe, which was basically exactly the length of time were told to expect.
The few minor dramas throughout the build, which are inevitable and to be expected with any builder, were handled quickly and without any hassle or back and forth. We had independent inspections just to be sure and they were very happy with all build quality
Our experience with GJ Gardner Adelaide Hills was a very positive one and we would not hesitate to build with them again.

Our consultant, Rachel even took into account exactly where I wanted to place my Christmas tree in the front window, making sure a power point was perfectly placed for the Christmas lights.
The building process itself was fantastic. Even with bad weather, the team managed to work around the delays and handed over the keys on time.
What truly sets these guys apart is their aftercare. Well outside of our maintenance period, we had an issue with our rainwater tank pump. Lara was amazing, stepping in to help us work with the manufacturer to get it replaced quickly under warranty.
We have been so impressed that we are in the process of finalising an invesment property to be built with them. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

From the small touches like Nik the construction manager face timing our family when they were pouring the slab, to the fortnightly progress updates from the site Supervisor Dave and the constant communication from the lovely team in the office. The reminders to set up our gas and order our bins the weeks out from handover also show the level of detail in the G.J. team's process.
The quality of the home is impressive and the time spent by Dave at each walkthrough on explaining all the little details and finishes made the handover that much easier and faster with the amount of knowledge and information given throughout the construction process. It's honestly hard to fault how the construction process was managed right from the start.
After 1 month of living in our home, we only have 3 minor items that we have listed in our warranty list so far, mind you this is very minor and speaks of the quality taken throughout this whole process. We weren't so lucky with our previous builds.
I will be updating this review with photo's once the home is styled to show the workmanship and quality if anyone's thinking of building with the G.J. Gardner team.
