Cradle Mountain - Tasmania.....Beautifully appointed cabins with lux furnishings and so warm and cosy. We loved the lush tropical gardens, magnificent beachfront, beautiful pools, restaurants, lounges and excellent wellness and fitness facilities. The resort is truly stunning and provides a wonderful setting for a relaxing and luxurious holiday.
What made this stay especially meaningful was the genuine warmth and exceptional hospitality of the MULIA team. So many familiar faces remembered us from previous visits, making us feel like returning friends rather than simply guests.
We are very grateful to Luxury Escapes for offering such a wonderful package and allowing us to experience MULIA once again.

If you are lucky enough to have a Suite or above take advantage of the Fabulous Cliff Lounge, the staff are amazing, the breakfast superb. Can't forget Pala Rooftop for evening sunset drinks and canapes, the wonderful Juli the assistant manager runs it so smoothly all the staff are so confident and well trained by him, he is the best. The actual Hotel is a modern piece of architecture that stuns with a Balinese twist. The entrance foyer is to be amazed at and the view of course you cannot forget that. son and his friend and the room was spacious, comfortable and private for us all - with aircon just right temp. Breakfast buffet and a-la-carte selection was never ending.. Lunch and dinner was plentiful and The Plantation Grill was an unexpected penultimate fine dining experience. Let’s not forget the complimentary massages adding to the relaxation. I am thoroughly disgusted by the lack of empathy and rigidity shown by Luxury Escapes. When my father was diagnosed with terminal Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)—a sudden, devastating medical emergency—we naturally had to cancel our travel plans. Despite this major family crisis, Luxury Escapes refused to issue a full refund, hiding behind fine… Read more
print and offering only a partial return of funds. I am still owed over $1,200. What makes it even worse is that they didn’t even bother to ask for or look at any medical documentation; they just flat-out refused to show any human decency or flexibility. To put their lack of compassion into perspective, Qantas gave us a full refund for six flights equaling over $5,000 during the exact same crisis, yet Luxury Escapes couldn't manage basic human decency. At a time when a family is facing a terminal cancer battle, you expect a reputable travel company to show compassion rather than just cashing in on a medical emergency.
To add insult to injury, when given the chance to make things right for their customer, they offered a measly $200 voucher for a new package that expires in 12 months.
I know I'll likely get a standard automated reply from Luxury Escapes saying they're "sorry this has happened," but the reality is they don't care at all. Given how poorly they treat customers facing genuine emergencies, I will never book with them again, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for travel providers who actually care.
After purchasing airline tickets to Bali through Luxury Escapes, they contacted me offering us lounge service in the Concordia Lounge for $65AU per head. As our economy flight wasn’t leaving until 2330 we thought it would be a good opportunity to relax, have a meal and a glass of wine. was full and they did not serve any alcoholic beverages. We were told we could go into the lounge but would have to share tables with other people. We proceeded and managed to find a small table after a short wait however the table was not cleaned or any of the previous diners dirty crockery and cutlery removed while we were sitting there. All of the bins were overflowing with rubbish and the general cleanliness of the Lounge left a lot to be desired. We decided to have a meal however there was very little to choose from. The two hot dishes, served in Bain-Marie’s were beef stroganoff which was like chewing leather and a fish dish which was dry and quite frankly both were inedible even though we were hungry. Rice was on offer but was dry and just about empty. The food on offer really was rather appalling. I contacted Luxury Escapes and advised them of our disappointment with the Concordia Lounge who asked what outcome I would like (partial or full refund) of which I said full refund. After much dialogue the best they could offer me was a AUD$65 voucher with Luxury Escapes to be used within 12 months. Very disappointing from such a big company and will not use Luxury Escapes again and would not recommend them so have subsequently refused their offer of a voucher.

We recently booked a special Maldives holiday through Luxury Escapes to celebrate my 60th birthday. approximately 5am, yet our villa was not guaranteed until the normal 3pm check-in. After a long red-eye flight with virtually no sleep, we were exhausted and spent hours trying to rest on daybeds beside the pool while waiting for our villa.
Our prepaid drinks package also didn’t commence until 10am and our food package until 12 noon, meaning anything we wanted before then had to be purchased separately in US dollars.
I believe when flights form part of a premium package, accommodation and prepaid inclusions should be coordinated with arrival and departure times. Starting a luxury holiday with potentially a 10-hour wait for your room is hardly a luxury experience.
Our second disappointment was the unlimited free-flow drinks package. We only discovered after arriving that the minibar was excluded and drinks from the bars/restaurants could not be taken back to our villa.
We had specifically chosen a beautiful villa with a private pool and ocean views because we wanted privacy and relaxation. We weren’t looking to sit at a public bar drinking all day; we simply wanted to return after dinner and enjoy a bottle of sparkling wine and a few beers beside our own pool. Instead, this required purchasing drinks separately at very high US-dollar minibar or room-service prices.
SO/ Maldives initially advised us that this was a Luxury Escapes package issue. We therefore contacted Luxury Escapes and exchanged numerous emails over several days while we were actually at the resort. Despite explaining that valuable days of our short stay were passing, no satisfactory solution was reached. Ultimately, Luxury Escapes directed us back to SO/ Maldives to ask the resort for a goodwill arrangement.
Thankfully, our wonderful host Ana took our concerns to the Resort Manager. He personally came to speak with us, listened and immediately agreed to provide a bottle of sparkling wine and a few beers each day so we could finally enjoy our villa as we had intended. SO/ Maldives went above and beyond to resolve something that was not of their making.
Our departure highlighted the same poor coordination. Checkout was midday but we weren’t leaving the resort until approximately 5pm, and our food and drinks package also ended at midday. Once again SO/ Maldives came to our rescue, kindly allowing us to remain in our villa until approximately 4:30pm.
We also paid around A$8,000 total to upgrade two people to Business Class. While the flight attendants and food were excellent and the lie-flat seats appreciated, the seats were narrow and hard for sleeping and there was no turndown service or mattress/padding. Compared with other international Business Class products we’ve experienced, we didn’t feel the upgrade represented good value.
SO/ Maldives itself was outstanding. Ana, the Resort Manager and the staff were exceptional and made our holiday special.
Luxury Escapes, however, let us down. For a holiday of this cost and importance, I expected much better coordination from arrival through to departure not subject to availability rather you can check in early or have a late checkout.
We still have Luxury Escapes credit from a previously cancelled holiday, so we will likely have to use them again. Without that credit, this experience would make me seriously reconsider booking another major holiday with Luxury Escapes.
