requesting that they reply and provide important documentation relating to THEIR installation, including the Western Power/DER approval, approved export limits, commissioning/export-control settings and Electrical Safety Certificate. Eight days later, I have received no substantive reply to my emails and none of the requested documentation has been provided. Attempts to obtain assistance by phone have also gotten me nowhere.
For a company that was happy to take nearly $12,000 from us, this level of communication and after-sales support is disgraceful. I should not have to repeatedly chase a company simply to get a reply to my emails and obtain important technical and approval documentation for equipment they supplied and installed.
I am now having to consider escalating the matter to Consumer Protection WA simply to obtain answers and have the installation properly addressed.
Based on my experience with their after-sales support, I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. Taking nearly $12,000 in payment appears to have been considerably easier than getting them to reply afterwards.

For a system costing nearly $12,000, being unable to obtain basic installation records or meaningful after-sales support when there are concerns with the system is completely unacceptable. I am now having to consider escalating the matter to Consumer Protection WA simply to obtain answers and have the installation properly investigated.
Based on my experience with their after-sales support, I would avoid this company and would not recommend them.

reasonable price point. In short, the 14kWh AlphaESS setup hit the sweet spot for my needs.
Notwithstanding the above, there were 2 minor oversights that had to be corrected after getting the quote. However, to be fair, SBG did absorb most of the additional costs associated with the extra hardware that was overlooked on the quote.
The system has been up and running for 4 months. So far, there have been no issues - it works just like a new one.
Yes, I would recommend SBG.

I can highly recommend the service provided by The Solar Battery Group who did a great job installing the AlphaESS 15kw battery which has been storing power from the solar panels and importing power as required to meet the home power load. Show details

easy to use - it gets a bit addictive to be honest! We went with Amber Electricity so we could control what prices we were paying for electricity and when we could sell energy too. Feels great to have that kind of transparency over your energy usage and bills!

include a battery backup system which has now been tried twice while Western Power ‘blacked’ us for 2 separate days whilst replacing poles in our area. 1x power and 1x light circuit flawlessly kicked in so lights & internet & telly, music were still available. The only issue is that it seems that the power inverter is powered only from the grid so no battery charging occurred during the blackout. (I still need to make enquiries in regard to this issue) Very competent and friendly technicians made a the removal of the old batteries & installation seem easy. Most helpful to answer the many questions I had for them. The only hiccup was the fact that the toggle need to connect the system to the internet was not presently available so there was a delay whilst waiting for the component to arrive. On the topic of support, I did try and contact Solar Group on a few occasions to find out when I could expect the component to arrive and found that I always seemed to get a ‘busy’ notification. To their credit though, I always received a call back to answer my enquiries. Performance?? Installed at the end of Summer (no clouds in sight) so batteries quickly charged to 100 % with self-sufficiency in the very high 90’s … Now June and Winter is setting in. Batteries with a break in the weather are presently getting up to the mid 30’s and back to the 20’s in the morning. Presently. depending mostly from the grid. Not until the system runs for a year or so can I fully assess the benefits over whole seasons of weather. We will see?? but overall the system seems robust and user friendly. I hope this helps. reasonable cost . Installers were friendly , professional and knowledgeable. Answered my questions willingly and left the area clean and tidy . The 20kwh stack looks smicko . Our power bill is now generally less than the std connection charge and we charge our car 100% from the system , mostly during daylight but house batteries let us charge overnight if needed ( trickle charging ). Only issue has been not being informed of the bottom 20% not being available fir battery discharge. Though this can be adjusted if requested I believe

Follow-up · Big Change. Eveready system failed completely with no warranty and very little compensation. In February 2026 we have installed Ambrion Battery System (40kWh) with Risen n-type TOPCON 440W Panels . The with system seems to be okay. The service from Solar Battery group has been really good as far as the installation and the follow up adjustments. The new system has been tested as we have just gone through winter's cloudy weather.

Follow-up · Great experience since installation. The system went offline due to internet issues (not anything to do with the system) and I had trouble reconnecting. They could not have been more helpful with getting me back online. I tried their patience with my ineptitude, but they kept going and contacted me a few times to see if they could help. Eventually we got everything working again due to their help and all has been good since.

I asked for a quote which I accepted and an installation date was given. I continued to receive updates and support both pre and post installation. On the day of the battery installation the installer arrived at the time agreed, completed the job and cleared up. He proceeded to advise on what the signs that came with the battery meant and what to do in the unlikely event a problem occurred. I also had a plug fitted should the power go off and he explained what to do in that regards.

was 98cm between the top of the old system and the eaves The 2 new batteries were about 60cm high. When he installed the new batts against the wall. He told me he didn't realise there was no cover to the batts. All the wiring is now exposed. Further the top batt is not aligned with the bottom batt. Over the past week I have sent 4 emails explaining this. Talking to the staff, and adding 4 photographs to emails. I was charged $1102 for installation, plus a further {4 Pole Enclosure $175.00}. I have no idea what a 4 pole enclosure is?? Nothing has been done.

investigated the proposed Alpha Battery Model. All the Alpha batteries have similar and confusing names so it is very difficult to work out what you are actually getting. I tried to contact them for clarification but more Silence I contacted Solar Battery Group and asked to Cancel this order and return my Deposit. I have had only Silence since. I said if I did not receive a response I would contact Consumer Affairs, my Bank and write Reviews. Still Silence so here is my review.
Update - I just received a Call from Solar Battery Group after my Google review was published. Lots of excuses, Sales rep away, new system lost emails etc etc etc. Looking at previous negative reviews, it seems not much has changed. They say they have refunded my deposit but I haven't seen it yet.
