easy to use - it gets a bit addictive to be honest! We went with Amber Electricity so we could control what prices we were paying for electricity and when we could sell energy too. Feels great to have that kind of transparency over your energy usage and bills!

include a battery backup system which has now been tried twice while Western Power ‘blacked’ us for 2 separate days whilst replacing poles in our area. 1x power and 1x light circuit flawlessly kicked in so lights & internet & telly, music were still available. The only issue is that it seems that the power inverter is powered only from the grid so no battery charging occurred during the blackout. (I still need to make enquiries in regard to this issue) Very competent and friendly technicians made a the removal of the old batteries & installation seem easy. Most helpful to answer the many questions I had for them. The only hiccup was the fact that the toggle need to connect the system to the internet was not presently available so there was a delay whilst waiting for the component to arrive. On the topic of support, I did try and contact Solar Group on a few occasions to find out when I could expect the component to arrive and found that I always seemed to get a ‘busy’ notification. To their credit though, I always received a call back to answer my enquiries. Performance?? Installed at the end of Summer (no clouds in sight) so batteries quickly charged to 100 % with self-sufficiency in the very high 90’s … Now June and Winter is setting in. Batteries with a break in the weather are presently getting up to the mid 30’s and back to the 20’s in the morning. Presently. depending mostly from the grid. Not until the system runs for a year or so can I fully assess the benefits over whole seasons of weather. We will see?? but overall the system seems robust and user friendly. I hope this helps. reasonable cost . Installers were friendly , professional and knowledgeable. Answered my questions willingly and left the area clean and tidy . The 20kwh stack looks smicko . Our power bill is now generally less than the std connection charge and we charge our car 100% from the system , mostly during daylight but house batteries let us charge overnight if needed ( trickle charging ). Only issue has been not being informed of the bottom 20% not being available fir battery discharge. Though this can be adjusted if requested I believe

I must admit they did a great job., were incredibly professional, and explained everything clearly — including how the battery would work with my existing solar panels and how I could monitor it on my phone. They kept the site spotless, worked efficiently, and even took the time to show me a few extra tips for getting the most out of the system. Since the battery was installed, my energy bills have dropped significantly, and I love knowing I’ve got backup power during storms or peak times. warranty. When they finally replaced the unit, it took all of 30 minutes to resolve.

If you try to call them, you will not get through, instead you can organise a call back and they may or may not even call back. The number of hours I had to spend on hold with SBG is crazy. Even then I would often get hung up on at the end.

4 times they organised to come and fix the problem. We set a date and time for me to be home, then they did not even show up. 3 times without so much as a notification. It is then left up to me to initiate the process all over again where I seemed to be placed at the back of the queue again.

I am not sure, but I feel like they do not have their own technicians. When pressed for a date in which they could come and fix the problem, this process sometimes took them a week or more, just to give me a suitable date weeks in the future.

The battery itself is good and I am happy I have a solar battery. Totally recommend batteries.

If I had to go through the process again, I would look for an alternative to SBG. Perhaps a local electrician with a solar ticket. I am grateful they fixed it in the end. Mostly because I have working power points again, I have a solar battery again but also because I am so glad I do not have to keep dealing with this company and trying to make contact.

I lodged a formal complaint with them and they just ignored it. In the end I had to go through fair trading who wrote to them. They responded to fair trade saying they would be here on a set date. They did not show up. I was desperate and even looking into taking legal action but they did show for the next appointment. (3 weeks later)

I think any of the 5 star reviews on here have never had a problem with their battery. Just look for a 5 star review of someone who had to have it fixed under warranty. Understandably hardware will fail but fixing it does not seem to be a high priority for SBG.
