Unfortunately, the recent battery installation was not completed to the same standard. The service was poor, and the installers left all packaging and waste materials at the property, including large boxes, wiring, and other installation debris. These materials should have been removed by the installation team as part of properly completing the job.
When I asked the installer about the rubbish, he advised that someone from the company would arrange collection. However, when I contacted the sales staff, I was told that I would need to pay for rubbish removal myself. I find this response extremely disappointing, as I should not be expected to spend additional money to remove waste left behind by your installation team.
I am also concerned that no one has contacted me after the installation to explain how to monitor or check the battery system’s performance. I have sent an email to the company but have not received any response.
Overall, I am very disappointed with the service provided. The lack of cleanup, poor communication, and absence of post-installation support are unacceptable. I would not recommend your company based on this experience.

offshore. When issues arise that require the installer to return, the process becomes lengthy, frustrating and difficult to resolve.
My first issue was that no one conducted an on-site assessment before installation. I had sent photos showing that the battery location was on slightly sloped ground, and Solar Secure assured me they had checked with the installer and that everything would be fine. On installation day, however, the battery ended up being levelled using random brackets, pavers and other objects placed underneath it. I wasn’t happy with this outcome. Matt from Solar Secure acknowledged that the assessment should have picked this up, told me it would be rectified after the busy April period, and said he would “look after it.” Unfortunately, that never happened. After months of back and forth, the only resolution offered was that Solar Secure would cover half the cost of having the installer return, leaving me to pay the other half for something I don’t believe should have happened in the first place.
My second issue occurred during the installation itself. The installers advised that the solar panel installation needed additional work to grind the roof tiles and asked me to pay an additional $250. I don’t believe this should have been an extra charge, as any complexities should have been identified and included in the original quote. I paid the amount simply to avoid creating tension with the installers, who were going to be working at my home for the next couple of days.
The third issue was with the DC cabling between the battery and the inverter. The cabling was left much longer than necessary, resulting in a messy installation, and it was not mechanically protected as required under the relevant Australian standards. Both the installer and Solar Secure initially insisted that the installation was compliant and that there was nothing wrong. It was only after I provided the relevant regulation and clause that they acknowledged the installation did not meet the required standard. They agreed to rectify this issue at no additional cost when they returned to dismantle and reinstall the battery onto a properly levelled concrete slab to address the first issue.
All of these issues have since been rectified. However, they were only resolved after months of follow-up, significant frustration, and additional out-of-pocket expenses that I don’t believe I should have had to incur. It shouldn’t have taken me researching Australian standards, proving that the installation was non-compliant, and repeatedly chasing both Solar Secure and the installer to have these issues acknowledged and fixed.
While the initial sales experience was satisfactory, the after-sales support and issue resolution fell well short of expectations. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend using Solar Secure. I’d suggest dealing directly with a reputable local installer instead. Cutting out the middleman will likely make communication easier, provide better accountability, and help avoid the headaches I experienced.

Follow-up · The system is running so far so good. The grip recharges it to full in the 10am to 1pm when power grip is free. It performs well for the rest of the day. The installation was quick just 2 days after I pay the deposit. No issue at all for the subcontractor, they were quick and professional.

We were unable to use our garage for weeks because the required bollards had not been installed. Throughout the entire process, Solar Secure took no responsibility for the issues and it took weeks before I even received an apology.
In total, I wasted nine days of annual leave trying to get a battery installed. What should have been a straightforward installation took more than five weeks from the original installation date.
I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Very relaible and persistent in solving any issues. I had a complex job which most installers wouldnt touch due to safety concerns but Andy and the Solar Secure team persisted for weeks until they found the right solution at a very competitive cost and got it done.
