Everything we requested to be fixed or adjusted was properly addressed by Stuart’s team. In fact, there were only very minor things to fix after the final inspection, which really shows how good the workmanship already was from the start. Most importantly, both Stuart and Josie were very accommodating and supportive throughout the entire process.
The model we chose was the one displayed at Harpley, and we honestly got exactly what we had pictured for our dream home!

Disappointing service and maintenance lack of accountability I am writing this to warn potential buyers about the lack of support you receive from 8homes after handover. the Service and Maintenance department via a webform (don't even have a direct number to call), I was disappointed as they told me to deal with the supplier directly, stating they do not get involved once handover is complete.
When a builder takes on a project, they should also stand by their work and assist when these types of issues come up so early on. I highly recommend that potential customers carefully check how post-handover issues are handled before signing up with them.

Follow-up · I’m still waiting for my inspect ion it’s now more than 6 months and I’m still waiting, I have contacted the service form multiple times till now and no one has come to see what I’m worrying about, all they is to tell me to sent photos of the issues that I have that is not good enough.

After around a month of trying to have our request accepted, and then another month waiting for the appointment, Mark Lutter attended our home. Matt was fantastic. His attention to detail was excellent, he genuinely cared about resolving the issue, and he took the time to make sure the work was completed properly.
Eight Homes really needs to improve its aftercare and maintenance process. The system is rigid, slow and lacking in customer support. That said, the tradespeople they send continue to be exceptional, and Mark was a great example of that.

Extremely disappointed with the lack of response and action regarding a warranty issue at our property. This defect was first reported on 18 May 2026 through both the builder's customer portal and email. It has now been more than 17 business days, exceeding their stated policy of responding within 7 business days, yet the issue remains… Read more

The problem involves an ongoing leak that has progressively worsened and is now causing water damage, black and white mould growth, and significant health and safety concerns for our family. The leak has also created a slip and trip hazard inside the home. Given that it is currently winter, the situation has become even more serious.
We have provided numerous photographs and reports documenting the issue and its progression, yet we continue to experience delays rather than meaningful action. How many photos are required before a warranty claim is taken seriously?
To make matters worse, the plumber who attended advised that their expertise is primarily in underground plumbing and indicated that the issue may be related to the roof. Despite this, no appropriately qualified roofing specialist has been arranged to investigate and repair the problem. We have also been asked for additional photos.
For safety reasons, we will not climb onto our roof during winter conditions simply to gather more evidence. It is unreasonable to expect homeowners to place themselves at risk when qualified professionals should be inspecting the defect.
The lack of communication, failure to meet stated response timeframes, and delay in addressing a clear warranty issue have been extremely frustrating. We expected better after-sales service and support. We hope the company will take responsibility and resolve this matter immediately before further damage occurs.

incredibly stressful. Kimberley made that process so much easier. Her knowledge of the product, the process, and the industry was exceptional, she always had answers and never made us feel like a burden for asking questions.
What really set Kimberley apart was her genuine empathy and warmth. Having spoken with sales consultants at several other builders, many felt transactional and scripted like talking to a chatbot. Kimberley was the complete opposite. She took the time to actually understand our situation, was honest with us and consistently went above and beyond to make us feel supported throughout the entire journey.
Even when we had to make the difficult decision to step back, she handled everything with grace and professionalism. That kind of service is rare and deserves to be recognised.

big one: when Mahercorp, parent company of Eight Homes, went into voluntary administration in 2023. Like thousands of other customers, we were stressed, angry, and completely unsure what was going to happen. We were about 2 weeks away from handover and still had to fork out tens of thousands of dollars just to get the build over the line and help the company exit administration. That part was brutal.
The build itself was extremely stressful. Our slab sat there for months with nothing happening. We were passed between 3 different construction supervisors, timelines blew out, and communication was inconsistent for long stretches. Things did eventually come together, but it took far longer than it should have, and the experience took a toll.
Honestly, if you’d asked me during the build whether I’d recommend them, I would’ve said no without hesitation.
I chose these guys because I’d wanted an Urbanedge home for years. I saw one of their display homes back in 2009 and loved it, that design and that look. In the end, the people are what saved this experience.
One thing I do want to clearly acknowledge is the end result. We are genuinely happy with the family home that was designed and built for us. We got exactly what we wanted in terms of layout, design, and overall feel. It’s a beautiful home and it suits our family perfectly.
That said, the biggest issues we experienced post-handover were plumbing and waterproofing, and these didn’t all show up straight away. Around 2 years after the build, we started noticing leaks and problems with toilets, showers, and internal piping. Some of these issues were clearly related to waterproofing, and others to plumbing workmanship. These were not small cosmetic problems, they were genuine defects that required inspection and repair. From what we understand, the waterproofing subcontractor used at the time was Aquatap.
SALES, LUKE ____________ Luke was excellent. Clear, articulate, helpful, and genuinely easy to deal with. He walked us through everything, helped us design a home that actually fit our block, and made the early process smooth and understandable. No pressure, no nonsense, just good service.
CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISORS, ELLIE AND FRANK _______________________________________ Ellie, who is no longer with the company, was outstanding. She knew her stuff, stayed on top of things, kept in touch, and genuinely cared about the build quality. When she left during the voluntary administration period, we were worried, but Frank stepped in and he was also great. He kept us updated, made sure things were done properly, and gave us confidence the house was finished well despite everything that had happened.
MAINTENANCE AND WARRANTY, WHERE THEY REALLY REDEEMED THEMSELVES ____________________________________________________________ This is where Mahercorp genuinely deserves credit.
No build is perfect. You will find defects. What matters is what happens next.
When the plumbing and waterproofing issues came up, the warranty process itself was straightforward. You log issues through the portal and they actually respond. If something is urgent, they act quickly. There’s no deflecting, no handballing, no pretending it’s not their problem. If it’s a legitimate defect, they take responsibility and work through fixing it.
Marie from maintenance deserves a shout-out. She’s organised, responsive, and clearly dealing with a huge volume of claims, yet still manages to move things along and keep communication clear.
And then there’s [Name Removed], the inspector and all-round fixer. Calm, polite, skilled, and detail-oriented. He inspects issues properly, explains what’s happening, and actually fixes things, not patch jobs or excuses. He’s like a Swiss Army knife of the building world.

I would recommend them for their home designs, their willingness to honour warranty claims, and most importantly, for the quality of people they have on their team. They do show up when things go wrong, which counts for a lot.
It wasn’t an easy build and it wasn’t an easy journey, and the plumbing and waterproofing issues were frustrating, especially appearing years later. But we ended up with a home we genuinely love, backed by people who did step up when it mattered.

they quote 'We respond in 7 days'. It has been more than 7 days and no response. When the kids turn on the switch on accidentally, the downstairs power trips. Last time this has happened, my camera stopped working.
