AI reviews summary
Felix Mobile receives polarising feedback, with users either praising its exceptional value or reporting catastrophic service failures. While the unlimited data plans and environmental initiatives are highly regarded for their affordability and simplicity, a significant segment of users reports being "digitally stranded" due to rigid security protocols and a lack of accessible human support.
Pros
- Exceptional Value: The $40 unlimited data plan is frequently highlighted as a cost-effective alternative to traditional NBN or expensive tiered mobile plans, especially when combined with sign-up discounts.
- Environmental Commitment: Multiple users appreciate the company’s initiative to plant a tree for every month a customer remains active, viewing it as a unique and ethical differentiator in the telco market.
- Simple App Experience: When the service works as intended, the app-based management, porting process, and ability to pause the service while overseas are described as seamless and user-friendly.
- Generous Data Features: Users value the "Data Bank" and rollover features on tiered plans, as well as the ability to hotspot multiple devices without significant performance issues.
Cons
- Inaccessible Customer Support: The lack of a phone support line is a major grievance; users report being stuck in "bot loops" or waiting days for chat responses that often fail to resolve technical issues.
- Severe Authentication Delays: Significant issues arise during SIM/eSIM replacements or ID verification, with users reporting being left without service for 7 to 14 days, often losing access to critical 2FA and banking codes.
- Unreliable Network Performance: While urban coverage is generally acceptable, there are frequent complaints regarding "black spots" in major cities, unusable speeds (as low as 1-5 Mbps), and total service dropouts in regional areas.
- Rigid Device Compatibility: Users have been frustrated by sudden disconnections due to "non-compliant" devices and a lack of transparency regarding which handsets are supported on the network.
Verdict
Felix Mobile is a high-risk, high-reward provider best suited for tech-savvy users in strong Vodafone coverage areas who prioritise low-cost unlimited data. However, due to the documented lack of urgent support and lengthy service outages during technical faults, it is not recommended for business use or for those who rely on their mobile for critical two-factor authentication.
I spent two days on trying to get an Esim from this company, I rang them as I did not understand how they worked. The questions were intrusive, at one stage I was asked for my password for my email, in the end I told them to delete my information and cancel my request. I noticed funds were taken from my bank account, I had to call & get it back. Do not trust this company
AVOID FELIX Internet speed is ridiculously slow. Continual lagging during downloads. Despite being connected to the internet, I receive ongoing error messages: "check your Internet connection", "not connected to the internet". Customer service is appalling: no phone contact, only a chat bot which delays connecting you to human chat. Human chat is a series of cut and paste texts. AVOID!

The $20 a month promo for the first 3 months is void if you are late for just one payment.
Internet is at spastic-slow velocity.
I recommend you pay a little bit more of your Colonel Clink pocket money or White-Ox snout. Kids wouldn't even use this toy mobile service. Choose anything but Felix.

Felix Mobile has been a god send UNLIMITED DATA – Hello, this is my review of Felix mobile, the $35 a month unlimited data plan, this is a cheap alternative to Optus, Vodafone or Telstra plans that have limited data. Data plans these days are too expensive in Australia, Felix is changing that, for just $35 a month you get unlimited data for 20mbps upload and download. This has been enough for me… Read more
to stream Netflix in 4k, watch youtube in 4k, play games, with low 30ms ping times, and to make video calls. I have gone from using 10GB a month, to over 400gb! Because the speeds are limited to 20mbps upload and 20mbps download, i find I am getting really consistent speeds. You can use e-sim to signup in less than 10 minutes and tether unlimited data to your personal TV or computer!
When i signed up using JM00586 I got a free month!
I lost my phone then I couldn't verify my details automatically so needed to file a manual verificationn form with the privacy team. but incoming services are still barred .. two weeks later and still no resolution. The service was great and I use to recommend it but now forget it .
Check my photo below , my service needs incoming services unbarred at a network level yet they recommend removing the Sim and blowing the dust away?

There is almost no improvement. Despite Felix made a comment to fix it but so far at 1-5 Mb/s download speed.

After having my phone stolen and getting a new unlocked phone I went back to Felix to get a new Sim only Felix rep told me I couldn't do that because they can't just cancel my acc. I had to send in proof of id to a special team and go through a bunch of red tape and wait days etc just to cancel the old unused number and get a new esim! ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS? Got an eSIM and it wouldn’t activate, the only way to get help is to use their stupid bot after 20 minutes of that I got a person on the chat who after 30 minutes, asking me to remove my other sim restart my phone multiple times couldn’t get it to work before he told me that he had finished for the day and would pass me to the next person, who… Read more

Of five main contacts from them, two were lies, one was to push a lie onto the consumer as being at fault, one was to apologise for their service failure, but one was to welcome me. No one to chat with, only a computer ️️ that didn't understand. Show details

Service doesn't exist when you need it – Really frustrated with support as there isn't any. Service worked ok for me when in Australia, had no problem at all. Holiday in Thailand , paid for international roaming and nothing worked. Had a death in family so needed my mobile to work, could… Read more
receive call/sms, but unable to call out. Support doesn't work and you end up in a bot loop. I wouldn't waste your money if you require a reliable service or support when needed. They are happy to let you know that your payment failed or card is about to expire but if you need help, they disappear. Currently l'm 48 hrs into trying to get someone to actually assist me. Look elsewhere for a better service and coverage is my advice.
Follow-up · Follow up questions. What about data abroad... my international roaming didn't work, so don't know about data usage. Customer ratings.... I tried using the bot, this didn't work, it just ended up in a loop or weeks, just really poor customer service. Follow-up · When the service was working, it was great. But I ended up having issues with the internet dropping out quite a bit. It happened a lot when I was home. Terribly slow connection! I was told my internet would be fast but I haven’t even been able to open any internet tabs since porting over to Felix! Let alone use personal hotspot to watch Netflix etc. when I tried to get help, no one would answer except a bot that didn’t understand what I was asking. No happy.

my money back. Fast forward a year and some months, me being forgetful, I signed up to this poor excuse for a provider, and as usual it went smoothly until the payment was taken, after that, the same issue arose. They said my number would be ported and connected within 2 hours and I received sim activation instruction, however, the same thing happened once again. I used a link to download the app and create an account, and it would not let me and I tried the email address I provided them with to log in it wouldn’t let me. Now it is about 24 hours past the promised connection time and I am unable to get support. I messaged them via chat, many times and tried emailing to no avail. How can a garbage like this operate in Australia?

Felix you are bloody legends. Ported away from Telstra in 10 minutes because they charge me way too much and can barely stream YouTube at 480p on my iPad through my hotspot. Felix with their $20, 3 month discount can stream at 1080p with no problem and call quality is great. Idk why so many people leave felix bad reviews. It was a fast smooth transfer away from $$$ Telstra $$$ Show reply
It’s wonderfully good… until something goes wrong and you actually need assistance. For a long time, Felix offered decent value and I was happy with the service, but one terrible experience completely erased all those positives for me. I had a SIM issue and needed a replacement, which required ID verification before my service could be restored.… Read more
Fair enough — I complied without issue. The problem was what happened afterward. Even after successfully verifying my ID, Felix was in no hurry to remove the restrictions on my calls and data.
I explained multiple times over several days why restoring service was urgent, but nothing was resolved. Nine days later, barring was still active.
In 2026, this process feels incredibly outdated. Another reviewer mentioned nearly losing their job because of the same issue, and I can absolutely believe it. In my case, I couldn’t receive important 2FA codes or critical messages. Being disconnected for nine days in today’s digital world is completely unacceptable.
If this had happened with a provider that has physical stores, like Telstra, it likely would have been resolved within an hour.
What disappointed me most was the apparent lack of urgency or care from customer support throughout the ordeal. I’ve since left Felix and moved to another provider. Unfortunately, this experience was a complete deal breaker for me.
You really do get what you pay for. A bargain almost always has a catch, even when everything seems great, and the catch here is customer service agents who respond like robots instead of thinking critically about the situation.
For a long time I believed Felix was awesome, and in some respects I guess that still holds true. But saving $10 a month compared to another provider simply isn’t worth an ordeal like this.

Excellent value, using as NBN replacement for a fraction of the price Combine the $40 unlimited felix plan with a cheap pocket wifi router and this is effectively a home internet replacement. Even with the maximum speed cap it's not really noticeable, and $40 is a bargain compared to any NBN plan
$40 unlimited plan. Internet is constantly dropping out I would say 25% of the time I go to usey phone throughout the day the internet is dropping out and I need to wait ~5 minutes for it to be usable again. It is definitely not worth it and support will just tell you to restart your phone. Garbage. Show details

Be aware that most of the "good" reviews are bought or put up by felix themselves according to the ombudsman, If I could give 0 stars I would!! didn't work and brought you to the sign up page every time you clicked it or there was an error. But the worst part is that they don't clearly state upon sign up or on their website in general that you have to check your phones compatibility with their network on their compatibility checker to see if your phone will or won't work on their network. If your phone doesn't work they don't state why and the chat bot or agent doesn't know either. Felix does not work on any of my phones as soon as I put the SIM in any of my phones they shut off all access and make the SIM unusable because they don't like the phone I'm using , I canceled my service within the first 24hs of activating the SIM. I would not reccomend this [Content Removed] service to anyone at all!! How does the government allow this company to keep running with how much of a [Content Removed] this company is! This company also sells your data so be expecting [Content Removed] callers to call you constantly if you can get this service to work on your phone , USE AT OWN RISK!!
