Consumer sentiment for Lycamobile is predominantly negative, driven by widespread difficulties with customer service responsiveness, activation procedures, and account management. While a segment of users appreciates the low-cost pricing structure and occasional positive interactions with support staff on alternative channels, many encounter frustrating hurdles. Overall, prospective customers are advised to carefully review plan terms and consider potential support challenges before signing up.
I just want to say that I prefer LycaMobile over Telstra and Optus because it is affordable never will I pay extra on expensive telcos like Telstra or Optus never in these times of “cost of living pressures”. LycaMobile reception is reasonably good WHO CARES if big Telcos like Telstra or Optus has better reception. My savings$$ is more important… Read more · 1
than what big Telcos have to offer . I can surely make and receive calls with LycaMobile which is great, browse the internet, watch YouTube and Foxtel all on my iPhone and plus I don’t travel as much outside my region so LycaMobile works for me. With LycaMobile I can save money$$ big Thank you to LycaMobile!!! Michael
I purchased a six-month prepaid plan for $99, but unfortunately the service has never been properly activated. Since purchasing the plan, I have been unable to make outgoing calls or use mobile data. I have contacted customer service multiple times, but instead of resolving the problem, I keep receiving new ticket numbers and being told that the… Read more
technical team will get back to me. Days have passed and the issue remains unresolved.
What is particularly concerning is that customer service told me their system shows approximately 17 minutes of outgoing calls on the account. I do not understand how this is possible when I have been unable to make outgoing calls since purchasing the plan. I have asked them to explain this discrepancy.
The plan I purchased includes unlimited Australian calls, unlimited international calls to 35 countries, and the advertised data allowance. None of these services have been available to me.
I paid upfront for six months of service and, so far, have not received the service I paid for. Rather than repeatedly creating support tickets, I would expect the provider to either activate the service promptly or provide an appropriate refund.
Based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend this provider.
Do not use. I ordered a Sim for $150 it never came. I tried to call and use the chat but it's AI and won't direct me to anyone or understand my issue. No one will email me back after multiple attempt to contact them. Wasted $150

After never ending negotiation, with the help of Sailendran Balasubramanian, the matter is resolved. But still not worth fighting and wasting time with this service. Show details · 1
Ordered a yearly eSIM plan twice, and both times the order confirmation email showed a physical SIM instead — even with screenshots as proof the second time. Had to cancel and call customer care twice, with no clear explanation for the repeated error. Now waiting on a $300 refund.. Poor order processing and unhelpful support. Would not recommend if you specifically need an eSIM.

The worst eSim experience. Customer service is quite hopeless. I'm sorry that English might be your 3rd language, but you are serving English speaking customers, it shouldn't take me almost 10 minutes to explain my first name and my email address.. for you to still get it wrong.. There is just so much to complain about but I'm tired from dealing… Read more

Had a month prepaid ,with Lycramobile and was charge auto pay even when i turned off auto pay, after do.\nIng some research , I found that it is a common practise with this company , and they have been fined multiple times from accc, other foreign government agencies. With the files have attached, here is a guideline on how to proceed in getting your money back. They go by people who don't make complaints. Their money stays in their pocket.

WORST TELCO COMPANY!!! Do not waste your money. I have emailed their customer service several times and I’ve had terrible responses so unhelpful, feels like I’m chatting to an AI robot. Trust me when I say you’re way better or spending a little bit more money to go somewhere with the actual service.

Why is it so difficult to port in a number? I got a 12 months pre-paid Lycamobile sim and decided to port in my number from optus. I received a sms from Lycamobile at 4:40pm 27/01 that my number has been successfully ported in. No, that's not my number. Rather, it's a strange number 61000000000. I don't know what that number is. I got this SIM+plan for 110$ and wanted to port to my existing number, their systems do not work, their ap doesn't work, nobody picks up the call, nobody responds on the chat. It's been a week, my number is still not ported and my existing services are getting suspended in 2 days. I waited for 1 hr on their chat for an agent to join and they… Read more

If I could give no stars I would. Spent all day trying to call the customer service, spending over an hour and half on the phone. The two times I got through to an agent, I could not hear the agent, as it was cutting out. After telling them I could not hear them to call me back on a better line. They hung up on me with no return phone call.… Read more
While also doing their online chat, I would get an agent, then get reverted back to the automated AI Bot. Took 4 times to finally get a proper conversation with the agent. Spending an hour on chat for them to tell me nothing can be done, after stating I will resume with my fair trading dispute unless they give us a refund, they then agreed to give us a refund. But only to tell us this would take 5-7 days (the refund time was not the issue we had, as that is normal time frame) and that we can not use the service (which was fine), nor could we revert back to our old provider in this time, nor could we change to a new provider. If we did we would lose full refund. So we were left having to stay with them, until a plan expires in a years time. As we needed to keep our numbers active for clients as they were linked to my husbands business, and needed to have the same numbers which we have had for over 20 years. We will never got back to them, we unfortnately change our sons over as well. We were Kogan mobile, and catch mobile (which turned into one pass mobile) and never had issues with either of the companies, and their customer services were great in assisting us. We were just looking at alternative companies with a better data plan option than what we were paying with our current providers. Lesson learned stick to what you are use to. END STORY DO NOT SWITCH TO LYCA, you will be much better off.

company and was told to check my contract critical information summary. I then emailed the company appealling for an exit to my plan and recieved no reply at all. 3 Dec 25 I purchased a new plan from another carrier, ported out of Lyca and contacted the Telecommunications ombudsman and presented my case, stating the plan was not fit for my use. https://www.tio.com.au/
Lyca responded at the last moment required by TIO, still without a resolution but simply restated i should buy credit to use MMS. Lyca eventually offered a 11month partial refund which i accepted but then stopped communication again.
23 Dec 25 I updated TIO of my progress but had not recieved the refund, TIO upgraded my case to "resolution area" and within 24hours heard back from Lyca confirming the refund had been initiated.
TIO were great
ULTIMATELY I knew LYCA would be forced to refund the remaining plan, but they certainly wasted a lot of our time. Hopefully they have incurred some TIO costs for their apalling behaviour.

Lyca Mobile Australia is one of the most unreliable, deceitful mobile service provider. 1. I bought a Lyca SIM from a local shop and topped up online from my credit card. Last week (12/8), when I called them they told me that my refund will be processed in 48 hrs. It was a big lie and refund didn't arrive even after 120 hrs. I wanted to provide zero or negative rating if possible.

I have a UK unlimited plan to use in UK and Europe, it's a plan promoted by Lycamobile as suitable for roaming data. I've been sold 35GB of data that I can't access - I haven't been able to connect to mobile internet in several EU regions in the last 2 weeks, which is disrupting my travel plans. I contacted Lycamobile during business hours and nobody has responded to date. I truly regret choosing a Lycamobile plan for my trip.

told it will be delivered within "5-7 business days".
The second time, they didn't have the street number of my address despite me providing it on their online website! So the delivery got delayed again, but it did get delivered!
I tried to activate it using the steps provided, but to no avail. So another call to Lycamobile. They managed to activate it, but I can't call out, text out or serve the internet. When I try calling out, I get a message that says I have insufficient funds in my account: I haven't even used it yet! I try calling daily to ask how to fix this. I get told it will be fixed in the next 24 hours.... only to be told that again and again. 72 hours later, I'm tired of calling. I've now cancelled the service, and I'm told I should get my refund in 5-7 business days.
Beware of the cheap deal. Don't go with Lycamobile.
