I had my birthday while in Dubrovnik and a cake was delivered to my room, I then realised that Jessica had organised it.

Lori organised a small private tour for our group in Uluru. I thought the 3 days tours we had were quality tours. Our group also appreciated Lori’s excellent service. needs. When the same issues continued we opted to respectfully cease working with Rose and seek alternative services. Rose required a non refundable fee upfront for both my wife and I. We understood there was no legal recourse, but based on our dissatisfaction, approached Rose to consider a partial refund, acknowledging that Rose had performed some preliminary work, but that it was not of any use to my wife and I. I was clear that under the circumstances this presented a fair and reasonable approach that left both parties feeling respected. Rose declined this request and retained the full amount citing it as justified due to the work she performed. To provide some valuable comparative context we have since commenced with a new advisor who’s fee is half the amount without upfront requirements, and who’s initial engagement, analysis of options, attention to our specific questions and needs, has surpassed all service capabilities displayed by Rose at an astronomical rate. Our ongoing positive experience with the new advisor highlights some issues not just within the service model but opens up questions about business ethics and what defines the moral compass when clients express dissatisfaction. We understand Rose has the ‘right’ to retain all funds based on the agreement we entered, however contend that under the circumstances it was not the ‘right’ thing to do. I provide this review in the hope it will prevent others from getting tied into an agreement, that despite your level of satisfaction will leave you completely out of pocket. Mark & Jeanne Evans

My questions, and ideas were all addressed and implemented. I brought so many jumbled plans to the table and Michelle magically put them all in order and made sense of them. I never felt that anything I would ask for or need to change at the late stage of planning, was inconvenient or not possible. Communication is very important to me, especially when my trip had over 4 countries, 12 hotel stays, car rentals and train trips. The detailed notes that Michelle had put together for me was incredible. I always knew what to do, when and where. As this being my first time overseas and visiting non-speaking countries, I was so grateful. All the accommodation booked was perfect. During my initial meeting with Michelle we talked about what I needed at the end of the day from my hotel room. I was not disappointed. Every place was clean, tidy and had perfect location. I could tell that not only did Michelle deliver exactly what we discussed, but that Michelle’s personal travel experience was evident. Over the months leading up to the holiday and while on the road, Michelle was always on hand to answer communication. The package that was put together with all countries broken up into step by step directions, day by day was indispensable. The communication in these packages gave me the confidence to enjoy my holiday without any stress. Throughout the holiday we had a sudden change in circumstances and I had to stay behind for 5 days in London. Michell not only made all the calls, new hotel bookings, but also made all the necessary communication to future bookings. My holiday was amazing because of Michelle. We had a terrible experience. Our travel agent would not respond to us for up to a month. Did not communicate policies or booking details in a clear manner. For example, booked us into packages without being clear this was the booking structure and labelling only one of them as non refundable when the whole thing was. We would ask questions… Read more

about the pricing only to be met with radio silence for up to a month. We were coming in at a final cost of over $2000 over our original cost. Due to the lack of communication I ended up having to take time from work to call to ask about this. I was told it was due to flight price increases when I remarked these were only $200 not $2000 no response was given.

We then did our own cost breakdown which was a staggering $1500+ different to what we were being given by the travel agent. When pressing for this the agent admitted there was an $800 discrepancy they couldn’t rectify. How they got $800 and not $1500 I am unaware. They continued to price things up to $500 more than what I could find online (this for example was for bullet trains). We also had requested things not be booked guy they were included in our packages anyway. When we pressed further with questions the agent told us our deposit was non refundable (not reflected to us clearly on our quote or communicated to us at time of booking) and has since in writing told us they consider the engagement closed and refuse to communicate with us anymore about this deposit which we have now lost in entirety.

This coupled with absolutely abysmal communication and coming in close to $3000 more than the original quote (as we removed elements) I warn anybody from using this service as you will not be met with customer service and price clarity. I have spoken on the phone to the ACCC and encouraged to make a complaint which we are doing.

I have used travel agents before and this is by far the worst I have ever used. I have since booked the trip myself for my group and it has been faster, cheaper and we are staying in much nicer accommodation.

6 months ago and have had nothing but problems. We are less than a week out and we don’t even know what our baggage limits are, despite several calls to the airline because Cassandra at the agency has not. Our requirements to Cassandra before booking were no long stopovers and at least one bassinet seat. After 2 months of chasing her about confirming our bassinet and getting the ‘haven’t heard anything from the airline yet’, I called myself and was told she hadn’t even booked us on the right seats to be able to have a bassinet. If we wanted to change seats this late, it was going to be at an exorbitant cost given the price difference across months. Cassandra didnt even know she had to book us on different seats to fulfil our requirements and simply told us the process to book the bassinet was to book and pay for the flights first and then request the bassinet afterwards. If we had have known that we needed to book better seats, we would have booked them at the time the fares were a decent price. Otherwise we never would have booked these tickets at all as it is essential to have one bassinet when travelling with two babies and another young child. By the time I myself gave up waiting for Cassandra to do her job.. and called myself, the seat issue was far too expensive to fix. The booking has been a disaster to say the least and we haven’t even left yet.

Terrible service – My experience thus far with travel agents are they use their expertise to book flights, accommodation and activities for their clients. was very quick to charge me the $250 admin fee but unfortunately stopped there. I booked my own flights, all she did was google 2 accommodation options and suggest 1 activity. You would be better to go to a professional travel agent or just do it yourself.
