process of picking out things and colours a real debacle, with things being missed or not explained properly. Too much paper work too sign and had a few issues with items actually ordered and colours. Some senior management were ok to deal with others no so much. The worst experience was after the build a d when they have to come to fix things. It was very obvious that once they get their money they don't really want to deal with you to get things fixed. The person in their maintenance corey was a real tool to deal with. We spent so much money building the house. The front door has water come underneath when it rains to this day. The skirting on the bottom give way in most places. Handles come loose or totally came off and the maintenance guy just did not get along with the supervisors we escalated too. For such a big company there is a lot of inconsistency with there service through out the different team. When you are going through things and choosing things people should have understanding to appropriately guide the customer. Maintenance Team need to understand and listen to the customer and not just wash their hands with everything.

to what is important to you on your journey.

We engaged Wisdom in March 2024 with our anticipated land registration expected at the end of 2024. Wisdom appeared to not be in any rush for us to start our colour/selections consultations in CQ and we had to push and follow up with this.

Our colour consultation was pleasant but it wasn't until later we found faults and fairly big ones. here are a few examples 1. When choosing our kitchen/laundry finishes, the limits are endless and we don't know what we don't know and in hindsight, they can improve a lot more in this area, specifically, we were only advised of 1 available laundry hamper which was tiny and pointless when we saw it. We did some research and saw there were other options but they were not presented to us. The island bench could have benefit from additional cupboards on the side of the breakfast bar, but this was not provided to us as an option. We were not offered an exhaust fan in the laundry which we had to get retrofit after handover (something that should be available as most people use vented dryers).

2. We extended our Laundry and asked not to have an external exit door but have a window instead. We didn't specify any dimensions and trusted a suitable size would be inserted. Nothing appeared wrong when looking at the plans but during construction, the window was tiny and looks like a servery. We signed off on the plans and we took responsibility for this error.

3. We asked Wisdom to install front external lights. again, we left it to the professionals to choose the height that is appropriate. during construction, they were installed very low (1700 from slab I think). When comparing to other houses, our lights were definitely too low and paid an electrician to put them higher which left me with a bill and repair work still yet to do on the render.

4. We asked for heated towel rails as per display home. We got a different brand and less attractive product. We didnt know the brand used in the display home and took it for granted that the product name listed in the documents was the one from the display home. we signed off on this and had to accept it. Also to do with the heated towel rail, during the electrical conversation, I specifically asked how it works and where will it be controlled etc. We were told there will be a switch just like a light. During constructions, we found at that the towel rail in fact has a display controller. this was not offered to us and again, had to pay an electrician to retro fit it.

5. We changed our kitchen handles from brushed nickel to brushed brassed. We forgot to update the panty handles which now the colours don't match. In turn, we need to replace both pantry doors as the new handles will not cover the existing holes. It would be handy of were were advised of the domino effect and we signed off on the products and took ownership.

CQ was a bit slow to get through as emails had to be followed up many times with 5-day delay in responses on multiple occasions. As a result, we didn't finalise CQ and our land become registered.

CQ overall could improve and help us make the right decisions but there were some oversights from our end when confirms why I'm still giving Wisdom 5 stars.

Pre construction felt backwards. Thinking this would be quick an easy, Wrong! In no particular order, we had to deal with Basix, surprised with the need for a BAL report, surprised with the need for a noise level report and possibly one other thing. One would think this would be organised all at the same time but it wasn't. One was addressed and when that was completed, the other one was addressed. This process alone took what felt like 6 months.

Pre construction also had issues with getting approval from the developer. There was a required to use 3 different materials/colours on the facade. The first plan was rejected and was told, we need something different and Wisdom proposed stacked stone columns. This would have cost anywhere from $10K to $20K to the build cost. It also didn't fit the look we were going for which was Hampton inspired. IT didn't sit well with me and I took it upon myself to contact the developer. I was shocked to be told that all i needed to do was change the colour of the balustrade from Dover White to Miss Universe White. This didn't cost us anything extra. The Pre Construction Manager let us down with this and the delays he caused.

When we finally broke dirt we had Denis as our supervisor. A bit old school but we enjoyed having him as a supervisor until he advised he had too many jobs on and needed to hand our house to another supervisor. Unfortunately, we were given another supervisor for a couple of weeks where we were told he is no longer with Wisdom. As a result from changing to a third supervisor, I believe our house was delayed. We were provided with our third and final supervisor David Luc.

David is a dream supervisor, We walks around with his earpiece and his laptop, I could tell how efficient and effective he was. It was at this point where the communication exceeded our expectations and kept us up to date verbally and via email. If there was an issue, he would talk to us and have it fixed immediately.

Overall Summary The CQ is very slow and could improve with ensuring their customers are informed of what is available with their products, more in depth options for kitchen cabinetry, be aware of any domino effects if things are changed and stay away from making decisions on dimensions such as light height and window sizes. They also need to respond quicker to their emails. waiting 5 days or more isn't ideal.

Pre Construction needs work to improve on efficiency and ensuring any types of approvals or assessments are done at the same time and not one by one.

My supervisors Denis and David Brought us home and this is where the 5 star rating goes to.

We received our keys recently and still have the maintenance period. Let's hope they are as good here. I may do a separate review at that juncture.

never leaving my calls or emails not answered or not returned. Keep me almost immediately, and I shall say defiantly immediately at some point informed of the progress and process. She was a good listener and worked to address any concern I had. She fast tracks paperwork, plans, DA and CC regularly and did not sit waiting for it to return but chased it up. What stood out most was her dedication and commitment to her clients. assigned building supervisor and the entire time I feel like I had a guardian angel watching over me. John was always on top of things, consistent with communication, honest to a fault and picked up on things I didn't notice and corrected them to his high standards. He has repeatedly said he doesn't accept work that he would not accept for his own home. John was excellent at making sure I felt heard, and my needs/concerns attended to.

My parents have built many houses, and they said after seeing how John has handled everything, they would go as far as flying him out themselves to build their home if they were in such a position.

I cannot fault John, from our first meeting he said "we're building this home together" and that's really how it felt, in the best way possible.

SARAH DUFFIELD Sarah Duffield was my Construction Coordinator, and I didn't have to speak with her too often, as John had everything locked down and under control. Sarah handled administrative tasks for me from what I could see, and my experiences with her were grounded, friendly and professional. Sarah is prompt in communication and also on top of things, I trust both of these people and would want them in control of my next home, which is a lot coming from someone with standards like me.

I hope Wisdom Homes is looking after John and Sarah, as people like this are absolute assets to business and can make or break an experience and word of mouth. In this case, they turned an initially upsetting experience into one that was seamless and inspired confidence in their work.

ALISON WIBBERLEY Alison Wibberley was another member of the Wisdom team that I worked with for a short time prior to construction beginning, I felt her work ethic and customer experience aligned with Sarah.

HANDOVER I recently completed handover, and the workmanship has been spot on, I have seen the build come together through all of it's stages and throughout the result has been quality.

NEGATIVES I experienced a handful of negative situations, these were very stressful for me. Given you sign the contract early on, before you go through any meaningful costs and processes, I felt at some points that I was cornered and Wisdom Homes had all the control. I took a lot of fighting, but ultimately Wisdom Homes did come to the party and do the right thing in my eyes. I run a business myself and have high standards for looking after clients and owning mistakes, even if it means making nothing on the job.

Instead of delving deeply into all the problems I had, I will commend Wisdom Homes for ultimately providing a solution to every problem I had, even if it required a lot of fighting and some solutions were not full solutions. Understandably Wisdom Homes is not going to pay out of pocket for large things that were their mistake, so a middle ground was found where we both came out ahead.

CLOSING I honestly would build with Wisdom Homes again. I will admit I went in expecting a fight and to be price gouged after hearing so many people talk about negative experiences with builders and especially during the house internal selections stage. Even though I had some poor experiences, overall I felt Wisdom Homes as a company has good intentions, but not all their staff are as exceptional as they should be. I have learned so much, and feel I could better navigate the path forward if I went through again, and my experience a second time around would be much better, especially after building rapport with so many people.

Thank you Wisdom Homes, John Glavan & Sarah Duffield for making the end result so wonderful, I am so excited to see the rest of it come together that I'm taking care of myself.
