A camping shop that can’t deliver a tent is a bit like a bakery that forgets the bread. That was my experience with Snowys. I paid extra for express… Read more
shipping, which clearly stated 2-day delivery. After two days, only the accessories arrived — the actual tent (the main thing I ordered) didn’t. I called them and was told “it was too big for the truck” and that it would arrive “tomorrow.”
Tomorrow came. No tent.
I called again. This time it was “the next day.”
Then Friday came, and suddenly the story changed to “it will arrive in 5 days.” At that point I asked if I could simply pick it up from the depo, since clearly shipping wasn’t happening. Their response? “Maybe, we’ll let you know.” They never did.
After all that, they offered a refund. Fine. But when I called the next day to check on it, they told me I would need to post the accessories back myself, wait for them to receive them, and only then would they process the refund.
So let’s recap the adventure: • Paid extra for express shipping • Didn’t receive the main item • Given different promises every day • No follow-up to help me • Then told I need to spend more time and effort returning items just to get a refund for their mistake
This was an incredibly frustrating experience. For a well-known Australian outdoor retailer, the logistics, communication, and customer service were shockingly poor.
Camping gear is supposed to help people get outdoors — not trap them in a customer service loop.

MDC after sales is abysmal, and second hand buyers need to know that the warranties are void as they are not the original owner. When our… Read more
fridge/freezer failed - a $1700 replacement made worse by an unreachable manufacturer in China-we sought help from customer service. Despite our caravan being only two years, barely used, and purchased from an owner who had to sell due to health reasons, MDC offered zero support. Their dismissive repsonse was that "they don't make them like they used to" coupled with the explicit admission that a replacement fridge would have been provided if we were simply the original purchaser, no questions asked. Furthermore, we have made many attempts to contact for assistance over the past few months with a minimal level of success. Their phone rings out or goes to messages that are never returned, or the person who answers is limited in their capacity to assist. Having said that , to be fair, we have had, on one occasion, struck one person who has been helpful. Not good enough! Lift your game MDC!

Happy but not 100% happy – A spade is a spade so I will tell it how it is. We love our trailer but it has not all been smooth sailing. From date of putting the deposit down,… Read more
January, to pick up, May, it was an epic saga to say the least. We are one of those couples who do our best in due diligence when checking out products and companies before parting with our hard earned money. The only thing that persuaded us to buy this trailer over one other, that was in the running for purchase, is the draw bar that goes from front to rear. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal but it is as far as structural integrity goes, it is a big deal.
The Dominator suits our needs perfectly. So we survived the debacle that was waiting for the trailer to be ready, it took more than 12 weeks, despite them telling us it would only be 5-6 weeks. I had to do all the calling as they never and I mean never instigate contact. They kept asking for the balance of payment and I told them that much like a house being built they would get a progress payment based on where they are in the build process. Being as they were behind schedule we were not paying the full balance. I think this is extremely fair due to their lack of customer service and not being honest about the delivery schedule. The only time they called me was to tell me that the trailer was ready to be picked up and they required balance of payment before we picked it up. We saved more than $600 by picking the trailer up ourselves. So when the trailer was finally ready we drove to Sydney to pick up the trailer, 12 hours give or take a bit due to comfort stops. We arrive just in time to get the paper work and rush in to the NSW version of Main roads and get a permit to take the trailer back to QLD with us. I will give them a little credit as two of the blokes stayed back after close so we could take the trailer.
We have used the camper a lot since owning it, as that was the purpose of buying it. For the most part the trailer is everything we need and a good package. These are the issues though: The piezo was not connected and the water pump has always tripped and the tap at the sink leaks. We have contacted them and I put in the warranty claim for the pump issue. I was told that they don't connect the piezo, ever. I asked why not? I was told that most people just get one of those clicky lighter thingys. So that did not answer as to why they don't connect the piezo, it's the most simple 12-24 volt connection in the whole trailer. I have had to repaint the boat rack as the paint job from factory is [Content Removed]. The so called stainless on the gas struts, actually all the gas struts on the trailer, are rusted. Even the so called stainless wheel arches are rusted. The fridge storage compartment is not really designed for a Waeco cfx95 fridge. After reading a couple of articles here, I think I might have to upgrade some wiring to suit the bigger fridge. The little fan does not move enough air around the compartment to keep the fridge compressor cool (In the process of working out a solution). The kitchen slide out is great but the [Content Removed] plate they have attached next to the kitchen pull out, which houses the connections for: the sink light, a 12 volt outlet etc., is barely attached. (Yet another thing that I fixed) I do FIFO and my wife works a long hard job, she is not confident enough to tow the trailer in to have it looked at, so getting the time to have it all fixed has been difficult. Our last rip away a couple of months ago, to Brunswick Heads, the stitching in the canvas at the side door has let go across a 2 inch section at the top of the door. I am yet to have the conversation with them about this.
On the subject of the canvas, we have never been able to erect the tent straight. This sounds odd to even say it but we have never been able to erect the trailer so that the tent is straight. The tension always seems to sit oddly. We have put it up on many surfaces and cant' seem to get it right. Provided you put the support bars in at the right places the water seems to run off the annex well. We are yet to get the annex put up in a minute, as they claim. The side and middle roof poles are a right royal pain in the arse, due to the way they connect to the trailer tent frame. This is another modification in the planning stages.
The sales guy in Brisbane reckons that the guy who owns the company is super proud of his product. He needs to rethink how the trailers are being built if he wants the people who buy them to be super proud of their purchase.

actions. In dealing with a failed delivery where the driver did not attend at all, [Name Removed] decided to take the side of the courier company. Even after I said that i would pay a redelivery fee if he and the courier Star Track (worst courier in Sydney) could prove they even attended. He refused flatly and continued to take the position of the delivery company. The whole time I was made to be the person at fault by [Name Removed] and rather than resolving the issue he preferred to take the easy way out for himself and cancel the order. Meanwhile he has let me and my client down. NEVER AGAIN

as told by the staff memeber that Decathlon members could exchange purchases within 12 months if not satisfied. However when I attempted to return an item for the first time (a pair of shoes which turned out to be too tight when worn for more than five minutes), I was immediately told they could not be exchanged because the tags had been removed. All they would offer me was a buyback of between 5% and 45% of the value, not an exchange. As the choice was to throw the items in the bin, I accepted the offer, but wqs then horrified when the shop assistant voted herself 5 out of 5 on the satisfaction survey that I was supposed tyo be given to fill out. In my opinion, Decathlon does not stand behind the impression they give of wanting satisfied customers, and I was appalled at the dismissive way I was treated.

which is why I purchased the backpack. Fast forward to today and I discovered the bag was manufactured in 2020. Meaning it contains PFAS. Which is appalling. I reached out to Wildfire Sports on the weekend via phone and they said the matter would be resolved with either a refund or a replacement, but I needed to send them an email to get the ball rolling. So I sent the email, but the email they sent back was disgraceful and disgusting. They said tough luck - that I should have known it had PFAS based on the model number that appeared on the website at the time of the purchase. Really??!! What a gutless bunch of people. They not only failed to identify at the time the product contained PFAS, but that they were unloading old stock. Disgraceful.

Highly recommend Trailmaster as a company and the Active Pod as a great option for hauling your camping gear! The awning mount proved to be an excellent addition and the setup survived a considerable amount of travel on pretty rough unsealed roads.
