quite heavy (57 kg boxed and 49 kg unboxed)!!! For elderly folks like ourselves, this can be quite challenging.

Getting it out of the box is easier with two people. Box comes with roller wheels on one end and a handle of top to be able to move it around before unpacking but the box came a bit crushed to I had to use a hand truck and strap which is much easier anyway.

Unrolling the mattress is an experience and you have to make sure you locate the supplied cutter that is included in the envelope that comes with the mattress as it is the safest way to cut the plastic envelope the holds the mattress in a tight roll. Try to avoid using scissors with a point.

Once you cut the plastic be prepared for a very fast decompression as the mattress inflates quite quickly. If your frame slats are wood, make sure that the they are completely smooth and free of splinters so that you don't tear the mattress while you position the mattress.

Once positioned we found that the mattress was simply too heavy for my wife to lift the corners to make the bed. She wanted a bed that she could make herself without my help. In that case, we had to remove the mattress, disassemble the bed frame, take the rails to a cabinet shop and have them retrofit the bed frame from a recessed bed frame to a platform bed frame. It turns this is the type of bed frame was recommended by Sleep Republic in the first place.

Ah, the fine print.

Once we retrofitted the frame to a platform type, we reset the mattress, purchased two high quality mattress lifter wedges, and now my wife can put on the fitted sheets herself if she wants. (Please note that this mattress is about 31 cm or about 12 1/4" thick). At first I thought the bed would be too firm relative to the Peace Lily latex mattress we had been sleeping on previously but it turned out that it was pretty much perfect for both myself and my wife. I sleep quite well and my wife finds the bed not only cozy but very well made. When I turn over I don't disturb my wife and vice versa. I did not detect any outgassing although we did allow it to air out for several hours before laying on it.

Bed maintains shape, does not sag, and even sitting on edge of bed one feels well supported..

My daughter is envious and my wife and I are most pleased with the outcome.

sleeps at night without waking. ie. 3 hrs instead of 2 and I don't sweat as much as I did but it's Winter so ??? Who knows? I don't like the soft edges but that comes with all hybrids, some more than others. I suffer with back pain as do many Seniors. I had it before and I still have it so I don't really know if I should have got another fully sprung Firm Mattress or this one. I guess I will never know.

They needed to be hotel grade and super comfortable and keep their puffiness and bounce back, sinking of your head into blissful soft comfort, but also firm enough to support your head and neck. microCloud's Hotel pillows, I am pleased to say fit that perfectly, guests have reported "super comfy" "cosy" which was exactly what I aimed to achieve. Personally, I am very fussy when it comes to pillows and having slept on these pillows myself, I can honestly say they made for a restful sleep and just like the quilts, it really does feel like sleeping on a cloud. once delivered because it is compressed in a box. The first night I used it, it did have a strong smell, as they advise, but this had largely gone by night 2 and then disappeared by night 3. And it is super comfy, I’ve had ensemble spring mattresses previously, but I feel like this is actually more comfortable - and heaps cheaper. So I would definitely recommend this mattress. I would buy it again. My only suggestion is you unroll it and let it rest for a few days before use if you can.

We’d got to the stage where we didn’t even know what we needed to be comfortable and going to bedding shops didn’t seem to help as you never know how each will feel after a night’s sleeping nor how the bed will feel in a couple of year’s time. Then I stumbled across Karl’s posts on Reddit and Whirlpool – you can find links on the Ausbeds homepage. All of a sudden it became so much clearer about what had gone wrong for us in the past. There is a wealth of knowledge there if you are that way inclined. I’m in Brisbane (and delivery was easy) but if I was in Sydney I would now recommend skip the details and just go their showrooms, try the beds and get the team’s advice on the best mattress for you. For us, we have started with a medium Cooper for the guest room and it’s been great being able to adjust the feel to find what works for each of us as well as being just much more comfortable than what it replaced. We’re waiting till we get to Sydney to try out the Aurora and Cloud before we decide on what we’ll choose for our main bed. And the great thing is that it’s also easy to upgrade the Cooper if we choose to.

Even though I bought it for a more comfortable neck sleep, I’ve been waking up with less lower back discomfort, as well! I like the adjustable height option. I found the full pillow was a little too high for me, so have taken out one layer and it’s now a good fit.

mattress from an online business based in Melbourne about five months ago and although I was fine with it initially my partner was not altogether comfortable on it. Return period was passed so we researched again and looked at Zenna which we had previously skipped as the mattress cost more. My partner called them as we did not want to blindly purchase and have issues again, Cliff explained that our previously purchased latex mattress was not zoned and that the zenna product would make a difference, his simple advice proved so correct. We are thrilled with our new mattress and it is chalk and cheese compared to the Melbourne based company who by the way do not mention on their website that their mattress is not zoned, in our opinion non disclosure is a dishonest practice.
